As an aside, I was in the Newcastle end at Forest a couple of seasons back, they take at least 500 more with them than tickets sold to most away games, most rows around me were two people deep (if not more). So I imagine they weren't blameless in all this! They just go through the turnstiles two at a time.

Concourse at forest was a particularly horrific experience with the extra numbers.

Not doubting it but the state of that stand is a joke. There's been too many incidents, even before Liverpool. Needs changing.

I've been to Hillsborough many times and it doesn't get better. Those tunnels are too small and a danger at full time or if you're later getting in prior to kick off (plus for those in the lower tier there is only one). As I said earlier in the thread I don't understand how it hasn't been replaced, or at least changed.

I understand what you're saying, but my point remains.   There are lots of grounds that don't have particularly brilliant entrances/exits.   You just have to be patient, and don't push and shove.  And of all places, a lesson that should've been learnt 37 years ago.

I've been to Hillsborough numerous times since 1989 and never had any problems.

But I agree, they probably should've rebuilt the Leppings Lane end ages ago.  A neat 5000 seater stand would have done the trick.   I suppose the timing has just never been right for SWFC - in terms of expected crowds, money etc.   It certainly isn't going to be replaced for a while, now, not in their precarious financial state ....................

Tbh I've been plenty of times - I think it's my most visited away ground - with no issues. But for me you can see why there have been issues. Looking forward to another visit next Monday as always..

Yeah I was keen to go before potentially they fall away into the shadows/the ground gets beyond repair.

I'm on my tod Monday so hopefully it'll be an enjoyable visit result wise too.

Ive noted a couple on here say they live in sheffield so wanted an opinion as to whether the following is realistic or will be a faff.

Going with my daughter who wants to do meadowhall too.  So after some (brief) research i plan to park all day at meadowhall and get yellow line tram which i think runs direct between meadowhall and hillsborough. Realistic?

We did it last time we played there and found no problems with it, can't remember which car park we parked in though.

I am now unexpectedly free on Monday so if anyone is selling a spare for Hillsborough let me know.

Me too. If you have two let Jim have one and I'll take the other 😆

Any travel advice from people who have been before.

I’m coming from South Notts, torn between train from Loughborough/parkway or driving there and parking (trains are a bit sparse tomorrow!)

Plenty of parking near by. Marcliffe School has lots of side roads near the ground.
