I think we’ll sign a number of players but agree it’ll be frees and loans, no fees spent. I definitely think there will be more non-academy players in that side though but hopefully they are in the squad.

I don’t know to be fair, I think he’s spent most of the season injured, again.

Our managerial choices have been poor and it seems we keep looking down towards those without much pedigree, so yes you might well be right that I would have a chance! However, I feel more content to stay where I am.

I can’t give you names, but a winger who can make half a yard to get the ball across ( the full backs aren’t going to be any slower in div1) whilst having the desire to tuck in and help his full back. And a centre forward who can stand up, bring up the midfield by good hold up, head the odd ball, and be quick enough to get on the end of the odd cross. Southampton’s came from Ross County, does our lot look in Scotland and lower leagues? Because they better start.

You may have gathered I don’t think Ayew or Mavs can do the above. 😁

Page & Aluko looked way more committed than Monga this season when given the chance. 
 

Monga probably knows he’s off regardless and isn’t arsed. That’s what it’s looked like to me at times

I watched a bit of Chesterfield Grimsby the other night to see Braybrooke.
 

Quite a few times he picked the ball up deep and drove forward with it. He’s one of those players that isn’t quick but with the ball he moves quickly if that makes sense. 
 

Has to be a starter next season. In fact right now he’s probably the only nailed on starter for me.

I’d say Aluko and probably Page for me as well. Build around those 3. The others (Hutchinson/Evans) probably need integrating rather than chucked into the 11 for the opening game.

Ideally, all the senior players should go to be be replaced with League One ready players, but realistically I think we struggle to shift Souttar, Choudhury, Skipp, Luke Thomas, Bobby Reid and Vestergaard. Everyone else I would expect to go, but anything is possible with our leadership. I hope they realize the situation and act early, and decisively, something we've not seen for a few years.

 

Nelson I would expect to be here, and probably be captain, Stolarczyk, although I don't rate him, may be OK for League One. Alves, Braybrooke, Aluko etc gives you the basics of a squad.

How do we know that the youth set up isn't infected with the same issues that we've seen with the first team squad  ? . I can honestly see next year being a massive struggle.

With Mavididi (and others) it has been about attitude, confidence and not so much about ability. How can anyone be deemed to be not as good as Mavididi when he does nothing week in week out? Someone who does less than nothing?

 

Like every season  there will be a false start ie a few still around who don’t want to be here and won’t be after deadline day (hopefully). I’d be brave as a coach and just keep them away from the matchday squad and start as you mean to go on, not lose senior presence and a couple of voices (who am I kidding) from the changing room a few games in.

 

Maybe Schlupp on a free for a year in his latter day DM / CM role to steady things and be a new (but old!) voice. Give Braybrooke Winks’s shirt and make him feel integral from day 1.
