Not a chance we'd be any worse off this season with him in the team over Reid or Cullen, but instead we'll have spent several million in wages and transfer fee for the benefit.

We signed a guy not as good and the same age for the first team on loan?

 

We keep playing senior players that do nothing whilst dropping him from the squad.

 

It's a long list really, if he had interest from other clubs he would have gone I suspect.

100 % would have have proved less than ethier.

 

I'm hoping for a Barnes like loan where by Christmas it obvious to bring him home and stick him in the squad.

I'd agree with Cullen, but he doesn't play in same position as Evans. But Burns is levels above at this moment in his career.

 

The hate for Burns after one game is just bizarre behaviour. Lets not forget, Evans didn't have the best preseason to stake a claim in our squad.

Burns played like a 31 year old who has barely played for 2 seasons because of an ACL.

 

Let's hope that the Wes Burns who tore up league 1 for Ipswich 4 years ago is still in there and that we will see him sooner rather than later.

 

The player who played against Notts County was not the same player and it's disrespectful to the player Burns was to suggest otherwise.

I went to the Cheltenham game. Otchere had a really poor game and the fans cheered when he was finally taken off. Felt for him - looked gutted at full time.

 

Evans was a real threat and arguably the best player on the pitch. He was taking up lots of good positions but his teammates weren’t getting the ball to him. Really tenacious in his pressing and put a shift in defensively.

Kind of what I feared with Otchere. He's very raw that in a weird way, he'd probably have a better chance of continuing his pre-season form at this level, rather than dropping down.

So Cheltenham (Evans, Otchere) play today at 12.30 away to Barnet, so that clashes with our game.

Then we've got Briggs's Northampton away to Gillingham at 3pm as well as Shrewsbury (Golding) at 3pm at home to Salford. Though I doubt Golding gets into the team having only just signed, maybe bench.

And for those that care, which will be none of us, Viktor Kristiansens Panathanaikos are in action on Monday night at 5.30.  But as he's yet to feature in a squad yet, who really gives a fxxk?
