Potential to be the worst result in our entire history this evening.

That said, I'd go with the same team except bring Kanga into defence with Souttar and Okoli.

I expect it to be even worse tomorrow evening.

6 midfielders? . Who are you playing at LWB?

Who says we need wingbacks? Just put two CDM next to one another, further out wide.

Two CMs further in, two wingers, plus the CAM in the middle.

This game could break possession records.

In my minds eye Bromley play on a patch of land that's one step up from a cow field.

I think we'll try and play a passing game but get ****ed over by Caleb Okoli, Harry Souttar, Warren O'Hora and Luke Thomas trying to cosplay as a professional footballers.

Knowing nothing about the town.

Only to realise that it's Bramley Apple and not Bromley...

I would go a bit radical for this one.

McCarthy

Aluko Kanga Lundstram Thomas

Page Braybrooke

Cullen Doyle Alves

Riis

Similar to Maresca's inverted fullbacks but with a defender that's happy to push into midfield. Lundstram to play that John Stones type role. Cullen and Alves to stay high and wide all game to keep their fullbacks honest. Page and Braybrooke would have a really busy role in midfield. IIRC Lundstram played a similar role for Rangers. I think Thomas' faults are best covered when he's tucked in.

So on the ball id would look a bit more like;

McCarthy

Aluko Kanga Thomas

Page Lundstram

Cullen Braybrooke Doyle Alves

Riis

Probably only the sort of formation that works on Football Manager or if you're Pep Guardiola but seeing this team sheet would definitely pique my interest. That midfield quartet of Page, Lundstram, Braybrooke and Doyle should be good enough to keep the ball off of any team at this level. Especially Bromley.

I'd even be tempted to bring in Chaplin for Braybrooke to be extra attacking, if he's fit.

I can't tell if this'll be one of those games where they're perfectly set up to exploit our weaknesses. We can never seemingly go 2 games without a disaster under this manager. But they do look a bit out of their depth, this absolutely must be a win.

Last time I saw their ground it was hosting a Sunday league cup final and it was a plastic pitch. Assume it's not that anymore

Yeah I think we'll **** it up. It's just too perfectly set up for it.

These sort of comments hit home that we're playing Bromley in a league fixture ffs.

Personally dont think Alves can play the wing back role, he's too lightweight defensively.  I'd give him or Howell, along with Doyle a free role behind Riis.

                   McCarthy

       Okoli     Soutter     Kanga

Aluko     Lundstrom  Page  Thomas

            Alves/Howell   Doyle

                       Riis

You shouldn’t need your wingbacks to defend much, just tuck in now and then. If three centre halves can’t mark one striker and move across to block now and then what we doing ? I’ve always favoured wingers in this role as in MON’s team.
