Based on Saturday's game

McCarthy

O'Hara

Souttar

Okoli

Alves

Lundstram

Braybrooke

Smallbone

Chaplin/Page

Doyle

Riis

We're really missing out on another forward, to give us more options up front. I'm a bit tired of playing with one striker only.

This but Kanga in for Doyle (I know it won't happen) and Page definitely over Chaplin.

Potential to be the worst result in our entire history this evening.

That said, I'd go with the same team except bring Kanga into defence with Souttar and Okoli.

What the ****s happening tonight?

Not the potential for back to back defeats Monday and Tuesday surely!

Don't understand why you are swapping an attacking midfielder who was one of our best players, for a centre half (unless you mean swapping Kanga for O'Hora?)

I understand why most haven’t picked Thomas , but once we got to grips with the game collectively Saturday and he got further up the pitch ( out of harms way defensively) he played well and for the sake of balance ( for that alone it was the best team Martin could pick) that left foot is required going forward.

Poor recruitment has put us in this state on the left. The Man City kid thus far is not the answer. The side should be unchanged.

I know we won on Saturday, but deliberately playing with 10 men tomorrow seems a tad overconfident to me.

You'd have to include Thomas

Possibly the formation helps him get higher up the pitch and less a liability at the back.

After the 1st 15 / 20 on Saturday he played well which to me showed character as he had an horrendous start to the game

6 midfielders? . Who are you playing at LWB?

Personally dont think Alves can play the wing back role, he's too lightweight defensively.  I'd give him or Howell, along with Doyle a free role behind Riis.

                   McCarthy

       Okoli     Soutter     Kanga

Aluko     Lundstrom  Page  Thomas

            Alves/Howell   Doyle

In what world does Charlie Chaplin replace Louis. He’s absolute garbage… as he showcased on Saturday

Good call. It wouldn’t hurt to give Sammy a rest. And Kanga & Howell urgently need minutes.

Chaplin played poorly on Saturday but scored 26 in 45 last time Ipswich were in league one four seasons ago. He is clearly not ‘absolute garbage’

It’s a shocking indictment on the club that we are even contemplating we might lose a league game against Bromley FC :(

Yes, not brilliant Saturday in his 15 minute cameo, but give the bloke a chance to get up to speed after a lengthy injury.

So footballers dont age? Footballers can adapt to any system?

Chaplin has to earn his spot, not be handed it, and currently he is behind the likes of Page, Braybrook and Doyle (wherever is is most suited for Chaplin to play).  Not being handed starts is part of that, he needs to be rotation and prove he is up to it, because so far he hasn't.

He is 29.

I didn’t suggest he should be handed a start. Merely that the previous poster writing him off as absolute garbage after two very short appearances may be a little premature

Same shape and gameplan, think Smallbone gives us good capacity to rotate who sits in and pushes on which will be good to try and ease Page’s workload so he can start Saturday.

Do think McFarlane would be better in this system than our back 4 but I wouldn’t drop Thomas just yet, be worried about tinkering too much here

Braybrooke on the bench purely because I don’t see a world where Lundstram and Page start all 3 and he’s the one I’d trust most at present in there.
