syston_fox Posted 1 January 2006 Posted 1 January 2006 Reported in both the News of The World and The Sunday People that Dion Dublin looks set to leave Leicester in the transfer window for any reasonable offer.
Jay Posted 1 January 2006 Posted 1 January 2006 who is going to pay anyhting for a 38year old footballer out of contract in 6months? only Micky Adams would be that crazy!!!
Cal Posted 1 January 2006 Posted 1 January 2006 It was only a matter of time, If i were him id just retire.
MC Prussian Posted 1 January 2006 Posted 1 January 2006 It was only a matter of time, If i were him id just retire. My thoughts exactly. He's simply too old and has done more harm than good. His move back to Leicester was more of a PR gag to get the local interest back on LCFC.
Matt Posted 1 January 2006 Posted 1 January 2006 Craig has 4 days left in the job after failing to beat norwich, when he meets the board next week he will be asked to leave on mutual consent. The board will turn to basset to lead the foxes to safety with dublin as assistant. ...Off here again

Ultra Posted 1 January 2006 Posted 1 January 2006 There's still a role for him in the squad. But it's as an impact player from the bench - like Les Ferdinand was when he was here. He hasn't got the stamina for 90 minutes any more. We also need his experience of fighting relegation battles (from his time at the sky blues). There aren't too many players who have that at our club!
drew Posted 1 January 2006 Posted 1 January 2006 I thought he was ok yesterday, at least his dummies gave us something to cheer about.......

There aren't too many players who have that at our club! Well, I think that point is a bit worn out. When Dublin already has that huge amount of experience, how come it hasn't changed anything for the better in the past 26 games in this season's Championship? If you're really good at handling tough situations you know when to speak up, when to talk to team mates, when to encourage certain players when they're in a low form, etc. etc. You'd also need to know when to talk to the manager/coach in a one-on-one. Honestly, I just don't see any good in Dublin staying with the team. I say his influence has become minimal. The only reason why he's still playing is because of his renommée and reputation. He's living off his name and the fact that he's still "our local boy".
Thracian Posted 1 January 2006 Posted 1 January 2006 We still need Dublin in our defence unless we get someone genuinely big and genuinely competent in the transfer window.
The People's Hero Posted 1 January 2006 Posted 1 January 2006 We still need Dublin in our defence unless we get someone genuinely big and genuinely competent in the transfer window. They'd feel out of place if they came here then!
