Scow Posted 26 January 2006 Posted 26 January 2006 I'm pretty sure that only applies to the Premiership at the moment. Thanks for clearing that up.
Guest Posted 27 January 2006 Posted 27 January 2006 It would be" the dream ticket."With Roy Keane going to Celtic the writings on the wall for Lennie anywayand God how we could do with him on the pitch But isn't Keane now facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines?
Dr The Singh Posted 27 January 2006 Posted 27 January 2006 From the BBC SPORTS site: Celtic captain Neil Lennon has played down speculation linking him with the vacant manager's post at Leicester. The 34-year-old midfielder made more than 200 appearances for the Foxes betweeen 1996 and 2000. But Lennon told the Daily Record that he wants to help the Parkhead club win the Scottish Premier League title. "Every year you want to win the title. This is no different but I'm captain this season and I really want to see it through," he told the Daily Record. On Thursday, Lennon's agent Martin Reilly told BBC Sport: "Neil has a special place in his heart for Leicester and he has never hidden his desire to move into management. "But for now he is concentrating on winning the league with Celtic." The Foxes dismissed former Hearts boss Craig Levein on Wednesday and are third from bottom in the Championship. Lennon is out of contract in the summer, having arrived at Celtic from Leicester in a £6m move in 2000. Lennon helped Leicester win promotion to the Premiership, won the League Cup twice and played in the Uefa Cup. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ity/4650708.stm
Ricey Posted 27 January 2006 Posted 27 January 2006 Just because he wants to win the title with Celtic doesn't mean he's ruling himself out. His agent will have asked Lennon if he was interested and that's why he released a statement putting his name forward.

Katy Posted 27 January 2006 Author Posted 27 January 2006 Crikey what did I start here! Im thinking if Lenny wants to finish winning the SPL with Celtic then let him, I think Rob Kelly could do a job for us until the summer. Then get Len in as Player coach/assistant manager and possibly Walford in as his experienced right hand man. An almost Dream Team!
Louise Posted 27 January 2006 Posted 27 January 2006 Don't give up on the dream Kat I think Lenny has played enough games for Celtic this season to get a winners medal if they win the league.... I'm still dreaming.

If Lennon finds the job attractive/challenging enough he'll take it should it be offered. I should think he's had enough of the easy life by now!!!

Steven Posted 30 January 2006 Posted 30 January 2006 Is this in relation to BOB HAZELL saying that next 24 hours could be interesting? Let us only celebrate if and hopefully when we have something concrete.
Gené and Tonic Posted 30 January 2006 Posted 30 January 2006 Not convinced by Lennon, he has no experience whatsoever, it may be romantic, but I have my doubts as to whether it'd be clever considering the situation we're in.

I think Steve Cotterill would do a good job here at City but maybe Lennie might just offer us a little bit more. I would say experience can be overrated, but talent and strong personal characteristics, remember Lennie was in a full body cast for ages due his broken back, cut loose by Man City and picked up by Crewe before he even got to City, will always shine through.
Lets Be having You Posted 30 January 2006 Posted 30 January 2006 Dream on folks, its not going to happen ok
