Manwell Pablo Posted 27 May 2006 Posted 27 May 2006 Chelsea to open Shevchenko talks IF this goes through expect another season of absloute dominance from Chelsea. I thought they started to look shakey at the end of last season, which led me to think that the Premier league may be a bit more intresting this season. What they have always lacked is a world class proflic goal scorer and if this deal goes through they probabley have the best. Add that to Ballack and Lampard cracking them from 25 yards and thats alot of goals.

This will mean some movement though, Carlton Cole to get a move I expect, and maybe Eidur Gudjonssen. Both class players who will be welcome at most Prem Clubs.
Chairman of the Bored Posted 27 May 2006 Posted 27 May 2006 zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. I hate Chelski. Someone needs to take the Gurning Russian out. This is becoming preposterous. Very bad for English football. A dictatorship by those with the biggest wallet. I know it has always been thus but his (ripped off) dosh has taken things to a new level. Not good.
dandannieldanok Posted 27 May 2006 Posted 27 May 2006 I think you lot are overrating them (Chelski), there not invincible and can be beaten by anyone on their day. Shevchenko also is not worth the money there paying milan, £35 mill
Manwell Pablo Posted 27 May 2006 Author Posted 27 May 2006 zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. I hate Chelski. Someone needs to take the Gurning Russian out. This is becoming preposterous. Very bad for English football. A dictatorship by those with the biggest wallet. I know it has always been thus but his (ripped off) dosh has taken things to a new level. Not good. While I do agree I do really like Ballack and Shevchenko as players, And I will find it hard to hate them if they have those two in the squad. My main beef with Chelsea is that they through stupid amount of money at shit ( Drogba, Huth ) and mediocre ( Parker, Essien, Wayne Bridge list goes on ) players, and still seem to win the league even though its obvious their squad has major holes ( lack of a proven goal scorer, low morale amongst fringe players ect ) . I also can't stand Drogba, I've hated him since he came here, Mourinho is mouthy but is getting better ( Medal thing was a disgrace though ). The way they play is also boring at times and is not really the way I'd like to see the Premier league champions play. However with Sheva and Ballack in the team they should be a bit more excititng and may actually entertain. Which is all I'm intrested in really. Abramoviches money is something we all should of accepted a long time, he's not breaking any rueles unfortuantley. However the way his millions have been spent on unexciting players in the past, players who fit the Jose Mourinho way of playing, has not been good for the English game. However his signing policy looks to be differnt this summer ( maybe's his caveing in under the weight of the boring boring Chelsea tag ) and who knows maybe he might get found as a one tatic man. ok maybe not.
SystonFox Posted 27 May 2006 Posted 27 May 2006 providing liverpool sell that flop djibril cisse and bring in 1 world class striker to play with crouch (be it owen or fernando torres or someone like that) and having fowler and sinama pongolle as backup they will finish closer to chelsea than anyone next season
Finnegan Posted 27 May 2006 Posted 27 May 2006 He's given up on playing for Holland, so it says. If he can't make the Dutch national squad, how good is he?
Alexikokopops Posted 27 May 2006 Posted 27 May 2006 He's given up on playing for Holland, so it says. If he can't make the Dutch national squad, how good is he? The reason he's given up playing for Holland is because he's ain't got Dutch Citizenship. He couldn't get fast-tracked through so he's decided to play for the Ivory Coast instead.
Hitesh Posted 27 May 2006 Posted 27 May 2006 Better than Drogba and Crespo by a mile! I think we might see Crespo going in the opposite direction!
Foxes_Wizard_Striker Posted 27 May 2006 Posted 27 May 2006 To be honsent I'm delighted that Ballack and Sheva could be coming it means more world class players to watch on MOTD
Guest seanfox778 Posted 27 May 2006 Posted 27 May 2006 can't believe there going to pay £35m for a 29 year old statistaclly hes past his peak and can't score 25 goals a season for much longer
Jay Posted 27 May 2006 Posted 27 May 2006 imo Chelsea could well end up like Real Madrid filled with world class names past there sell by date and end up winning f**k all!!! well we can hope so anyway
Chairman of the Bored Posted 27 May 2006 Posted 27 May 2006 To be honsent I'm delighted that Ballack and Sheva could be coming it means more world class players to watch on MOTD You should be the pub at that time of night, analysing the latest performance by the Mighty Foxes. Stuff MOTD, stuff Chelski, stuff everything and everyone in fact!
Lemon Harpic Posted 27 May 2006 Posted 27 May 2006 We have Barcelona to thank for Mourinho's new signing policy. If the catalans hadn't completely played Chelski off the pitch then I'm sure he would still be trying to sign more big strong players from the French league instead of signing exiting players from Europe's top leagues.

Alexikokopops Posted 27 May 2006 Posted 27 May 2006 plus his older brother plays for the Ivory Coast Captains them if I remmeber correctly.
Anish Posted 27 May 2006 Posted 27 May 2006 providing liverpool sell that flop djibril cisse and bring in 1 world class striker to play with crouch (be it owen or fernando torres or someone like that) and having fowler and sinama pongolle as backup they will finish closer to chelsea than anyone next season Crouch is overrated, he's mediocre in my opinion and Liverpool fans only love him cos he's an honest pro who works hard. He's simply not good enough for Liverpool imo - Cisse got 20 goals last season and rightly got criticised, yet Crouch scored nowhere near as many as Cisse but people still rate him. Better than Drogba and Crespo by a mile! I think we might see Crespo going in the opposite direction! Crespo is one of the best finishers in this league when he's given a consistent run of games. He is a world class striker and has proved it over a number of years - if he was English he'd definitely be in the England squad well ahead of Crouch. Shevchenko might be a superb player but I wouldn't say he's miles better than Crespo.
Hitesh Posted 28 May 2006 Posted 28 May 2006 Crespo is quality. he is past his peak IMO. I can see him going back to Italy soon!
Wils Posted 28 May 2006 Posted 28 May 2006 he is past his peak IMO. I can see him going back to Italy soon! Not atall i think hes a great player, quality finisher but i can see him going back to italy
Benji Posted 28 May 2006 Posted 28 May 2006 did the people criticising Shevchenko happen to see his last minute goal in the champions league this season in the quarters i think it was? He outpaced 1 or 2 players i remember rightly then finished it like a beauty. A goalscorer is a goalscorer, but i wouldn't even question his fitness, like someone said at the start of the thread, if chelsea get shevchenko i can only see another domination this season.
Master Fox Posted 1 June 2006 Posted 1 June 2006 Signed Now For £30M To Leicester Well he'll have to be back up really, Sheva will find ithard to get in the team ahead of Fryatt & Hume!
