Nationwider Posted 24 June 2006 Posted 24 June 2006 LINK I don't know how mobile he is these days, but he could be a very effective player at our level. I think MON tried to sign him before? Probably better than MDV if he's fit! I can't see him playing 46 games though.

I am sure he will score goals at this level but WBA have far moreny for transfers and wages than we do, I am sure they will be paying him a pretty decent wage something we couldn't afford
The People's Hero Posted 25 June 2006 Posted 25 June 2006 Yeah but we're exactly the type of club he should sign for. Scruffy, poor disciplinary records, is from Britain but not England, probably a bit over the hill... he's exactly our kind of striker!
Daggers Posted 29 June 2006 Posted 29 June 2006 Said that it was their clear ambition to return straight up again and invest in the club that attracted him. My money says they fail
MC Prussian Posted 7 February 2008 Posted 7 February 2008 John Hartson has now officially declared his retirement from football altogether: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/t...ion/7218185.stm (Doesn't mean he won't change his mind again in a few months time)

He was like a juggernaut with a broken axle.
Ric Flair Posted 7 February 2008 Posted 7 February 2008 " I can't have a burger without putting half a stone on " Fookin hell John, i've had what I perceive to be some extravagant burgers in my time, but never a 7 pounder. Good work pal. You wouldn't have any doubts if you seen him play for West Brom Reserves before Christmas. He was like a juggernaut with a broken axle. Hartson (Axle)
lildave3 Posted 7 February 2008 Posted 7 February 2008 Shame, he always wanted to end his career with Swansea didn't he? And now he's probably not even good good enough for them.
Staf Posted 7 February 2008 Posted 7 February 2008 Big John. What a leg end. Definetly a legend sad to see him retire although he had a great career
Geo V Posted 7 February 2008 Posted 7 February 2008 For me another waste of space. I am a big lad myself but there is no excuse for a professional footballer who has help with dietitians, trainers, coaches, physio`s etc not to be in decent shape on the football pitch and his lame excuse for retiring being he doesn't enjoy training all equates to 3 words for me. FAT LAZY BARSTEWARD! Good riddance to someone who doesn't respect how lucky he has actually been in life to have the chance of making money "playing" a sport.

He's come out and said that he's lost his desire and has retired because of it. He could've quite easily done a Rab Douglas, someone would've been stupid enough to sigh him up.
Finnegan Posted 8 February 2008 Posted 8 February 2008 What Alex said. Fair play to the lad he's worked hard for a couple of decades, it's not like he's a young man in footballing terms.

He could've quite easily done a Rab Douglas, someone would've been stupid enough to sigh him up. The reason why I don't buy that with Hartson is because he was a bloomin good player when in shape. If a miracle pill was invented to keep you in shape without training, his desire would still be there to play football. He is packing it in because he admitted to disliking the training and lost his desire. If you lost your desire to get up and work you probably couldn't because you have bills to pay whilst he can opt out and be lazy because he has made plenty of cash kicking a ball about.
Geo V Posted 8 February 2008 Posted 8 February 2008 Big John. That was quality, the way Berkovic seeked out the camera and clutched his head although to be fair it was a decent connection. Dive? You decide!
lildave3 Posted 8 February 2008 Posted 8 February 2008 Hartson lives in Coleorton.Fact. Well that's a lie. That implies there's two of you there.
