Tiatto agrees new 1 year deal

What Rob Kelly says and what he's really thinking of dong are two different things. Let's be honest, Rob Kelly could never sign/re-sign a player and say that he's going to be used as a back-up player and will play very few games. He's got to try and keep everyone happy. "We want him to play 30+ games" doesn't mean he will play 30+ games next season. If someone puts in some good performances in place of Tiatto, he'll know he won't come back into the team straight away. Add to that all of his niggly injuries and I doubt we'll see Tiatto much next season and if we do it will probably mean it's because he's actually doing a good job.

I'm not happy that Tiatto will be staying but the reason he is staying is because RK thinks he can do a job next season and RK has seen more of him than me so I'll trust his judgement for now.

But there is no need to mention how many games Tiatto will be playing, and there is even less need to lie about how many games Tiatto will be playing. So im afraid come Kennelworth road 12.30pm on Saturday 5th August 2006 you will see Danny Tiatto's name on the team sheet!

Most people here are overreacting.

What RK says and what actually happens are 2 different things.

I remember exactly a year ago when Levein re-signed Jason Wilcox for another season. People (including me) were slating Levein for doing this, yet Wilcox didn't get a look in so it was alright.

Tiatto will be a backup player I reckon, RK has seen that we've won more games without him so I doubt he'll walk straight into the 11.

Only if and when Tiatto starts every game and plays as poorly as last season will people be justified in questioning the manager. Until that happens you've got no reason to moan.

Sorry, couldn't let that one slip by unnoticed.

You may be correct Anish but the big question is back up to who, Hamill or a right footed player. Whichever way you look at it's crap.

I don't know what the average age of the players was last year but it sure as hell will be more mature this year.

Kelly's only done this to make sure I don't buy a season tcket.:whistle::whistle:

Well, he's succeeded for sure. 1-0 to Kelly.

What an utter crock of crap this is.

A fourth division winger and central defender, one distinctly average and possibly past it midfielder and Danny Tiatto again one of the worst players to grace this Club in the post O'Neill era. We have 2 decent strikers, one of which will be away by the end of August and we are left with O'Grady or Hammond as first choice with the other one.

At least after the Pleat season when we nearly went down, we ended up at Wembley and that saved the Club, it won't happen this year and it will spell disaster.

Cheap options rarely last.

Eh? If that happens I'll be even more pissed off/upset than I am now. :(

I thought we were short of money and the problem with your argument is that it costs us in cash to find out!. My bet is that both Levein and Kelly vote Labour and that Tiatto's contract is just like Wilcox's - a kind of social service. Come Christmas, if I'm wrong, let me know and I'll be happy to acknowledge the fact.

It is not all doom and gloom! RK did make Williams pick up his perfomance a bit we just have to hope he can did the same with Tiatto and sometimes I dont understand why people slate him, okay he is lousy but at least he give it his all and wear the shirt with pride.I would rather to be relegated with rubbish but gives it all players than talented but lazy players.

There's always the middle ground half decent players that give their all - Is that really too much too ask for?

But that is Tiatto. Last season, he was mostly shocking but did give his all. Over-committed, if anything.

Season before, he did show touches of class. Charlton game, he was brilliant. And a few other games, he was quality. Like the Crewe game, he was the only one with movement off the ball and opened up the game.

In my opinion he's never been half decent and if people choose to interpret his pathertic running around chasing the ball and fouling players as passion well that's their problem.

I agree with you davieG, he plays like a headless chicken

Let's hope he'll find his head for one more season and can avoid producing unnecessary card floods, like in the previous campaigns...

I, for once, would like to give him this one more chance.

But then again, he'll be off next Summer (or he might be snapped up by another club who doesn't know about his poor record or he might leave on his own - you never know) and already off wandering someplace else with his thoughts and efforts.

Tough decision to make. I hope he'll give everything he has left in him, but no silly tackles... :)

Cant rob kelly see beyond tiatto. i cant see what he offers to the team at all.

he is a liability

His inability to do that worries me more than anything else. We all laugh at Taylor signing his old favourites and now Kelly does the same. Not hopeful.:unsure::cry::cry::whistle::ph34r:

Do you think it could be because he quit International Football when Australia called him up and now Kelly feels obliged to repay him?

I'd say it's cos RK set out to take Levein's boys and make them into a winning team, which is what he's still doing.

Many questionable players have been played in a different way / position and turned out to have untapped skill.

So it doesn't really matter how much bitching and moaning people do if the players deliver, so we might as well just sit back and watch.

That is a good point, but the reason is experiance, personally i would not have wanted him 2 stay because he gets 2 many cards and injuries, but his experiance and he is naturally left footed. If he didnt stay we would only have Nisse who plays regular 1st team football who has a left foot.
