Tiatto Agrees New Deal With Foxes

Leicester City midfielder Danny Tiatto has agreed a new one-year contract with the club.

Tiatto, whose previous terms with the Foxes were due to expire at the end of June, has put pen to paper on a deal that will keep him at the Walkers Stadium until the end of the 2006-07 campaign.

The 33-year-old former Australian international joined Leicester from Manchester City in July 2004 and has so far made 55 appearances for the Foxes, scoring two goals.

He was named captain at the beginning of the 2004-05 campaign and was voted Player of the Season at the end that year.

Boss Rob Kelly said: "I'm very pleased that we have been able to keep Danny. He's a very competitive individual and a real winner to have in the squad.

"He had the opportunity to go to a number of other clubs, but he wanted to stay here.

"We may have to manage Danny a little differently next season. He plays in exactly the same way on the training pitch as he does on a Saturday - but he gets all the bumps and bruises that go with doing that.

"I know that he wants to give it a real big go this season. We want him to play 30-plus games and we will handle him and manage him accordingly."

Good lordy, every single bit of that article offends me. Mainly the 30+ game bit, which if we go on last seasons record of him never being in a winning team when he played for us then we are in for rich pickings of a season.

Rob Kelly is really starting to test my resolve, I wish he wouldn't. I want to like Kelly, but keeping Tiatto and signing millions of defenders that we don't need isn't pleasant.

Come on guys! Lets get behind all the players!!!

I wouldn't have signed him but hey they have and we've just got to hope he plays better this season

I reckon we should sign that Aussie keeper that played against Croatia. He looked dead good.

we want our spider back :P

Please no. He is very entertaining but for all the wrong reasons. Derby should buy him.

can you imagine derby drawing to leicester in the play off final after 119 minutes...... it looks like going to penalties..........derby get ready to send on substitute goalkeeper spider kalac.........oh no they've scored.......... :o:o

Well there goes my squad player theory. This prolly means the little Aussie &*^*^( is on a fair wack as well. I honestly can't bealive a proffesional manager is going to attempt to play Danny Tiatto 30 + times in a season ( Thankfully it wont be possible due to suspensions. ) what a horrible descion. ......

:huh::huh::huh: This aint happening, this has to be a joke. I'm expecting Noel Edmonds to pop up with a gotcha any moment.

Can I send my season tickets back?

The fact that no one else wanted to sign him should have been enough for RK to have let him go.

I just hope he has taken a massive pay cut, but somehow I don't think it will be that massive
