Milan Mandaric has targeted leicester!

please god let this be true

Ditto... a burke with money is better than the skint burkes running the club at the moment, at the very least we'd have cash and with that maybe a chance... just a chance, of better things for the future.

...sadly I'm 90% sure this will all be made up by some hack at the NOTW.

This would be great news and has a good chance of happening. When he sold his shares he said he want to buy another English club, it clearly wont be a premiership side or a league 1 or 2 club.

If this was to happen, which is very unlikely, I would be fantastic news for the club. It doesnt bother me that he isnt a leicester fan. Look what he did at pompey they are now pretty much an established premier league side.

Has anyone checked the paper to see if the story is actually in there?

At the moment, without knowing if he's actually interested or what his plans would be, I'd tentatively say I'd be happy with his taking over. Unlike a lot of businessmen who have gotten into football he at least has some understanding and passion for the game (he's owned about 6 clubs in the past I think?), and at the moment we're in for a very long ride in this division, with him taking over it wouldn't just mean an increase in transfer budget but I think in crowds and excitement around the City as well.

As it stands though, I think there is a 1.125% chance of it happening, so I won't get too excited. Fun to speculate though.

How do you arrive at that figure?

Virtually anybody taking over would be a better proposition than what the current board offers. Why not Mandaric (if true)? Pompey fans almost worshipped him so he can't be all that bad...

Heh, being a little bit prone to over-excitement as regards rumours (and a little bit strange) I was working out last night the probability of this happening, so that I didn't get too disappointed when it didn't happen…

Firstly I said there was about a 25% chance of the story actually being in the paper, seeing as it was posted on a forum by a person with a low post count, then I said there was a 50% chance, if the story was in the paper, of it being even vaguely true, then if the story was true another 50% of it being more than just a passing interest or comment by Mandaric. (Now we’re at 6.25%) Then I said a 50% chance, if he was actually serious, of him wanting to invest after finding out more about us, then another 50% chance of the deal not going sour half way through, which now brings me to 1.5625%, which means I must have gotten it wrong last night or taken a 1/3 off somewhere rather than 1/2, which hardly matters really as it’s all just a product of my overactive percentage-loving brain.

And there you go, a little insight into my world.

Oh, and as it is apparently in the paper, the chance is now 6.25% by my calculations ;)

i think he uses the same formula as you do when deciding how many emoticons/ smileys to place per post

Anyone got the News of the World today

From another forum (Talking Balls - so Steven should be able to vouch for it)

Whether true or not do you see this as good news or bad?

Great news imo.

Anything to see the back of this lot in charge.

Wake up and smell the coffee!

This man has NO affinity with us or our club.

If this story has even a grain of truth in it (and given its origin I don't believe it for a second) than we have to ask ourselves what he has to gain from investing in our club.

We are not a basket case like Portsmouth, who languished in obscurity for decades (and will do so again in due course) before Mandaric came on the scene.

The ownership rules are there for a reason - to prevent us from falling prey to spivs, sharks and asset-strippers.

Unless and until Mandaric can convince us he does not belong in any of these categories, we should not touch him with a bargepole!

Where's the affinity with Lerner at Villa? Where's the affinity with Abromovich at Chelsea, Where's the affinity at most of the recent takeovers?

It is all at the rumour stage.:huh::unsure:;)

Ha, yes vouch for it in that it was on Talking Balls not vouch for it's actual authenticity. Sorry if it implied otherwise

Despite what people may think about the Foxes Trust, surely it'll be partly up to them to decide and broadcast whether Mandaric (or any investor) has the right intentions or not, all of the other shareholders will be bought out easily I'd think but the FT will be the ones asking the hard questions (and yes, I do think that in this case).

I was going to say can things get any worse

.......but obviously things can get worse but as I see it any investment at the minute is a good thing.

By FT I assume you mean FoxesTalk?
