Geo V Posted 18 January 2007 Posted 18 January 2007 Fook it. I cant take the pain anymore. Time to go to the local JJB and buy myself a Man Utd shirt like the rest of the glory hunters who dont support London clubs. Ryan Giggs, Ryan Giggs, Running down the wing, Ryan Giggs, Ryan Giggs, Running down the wing, Feared by the Blues, Loved by the Reds, Ryan Giggs, Ryan Giggs, Ryan Giggs!
leeleic Posted 18 January 2007 Posted 18 January 2007 Hmmmm, was just announced on Talk Sport that Wolves have rejected Sounesses 20mill bid, a spokesman said "there are other parties who are offering much more". Oh Milan, please say its not true!
davieG Posted 18 January 2007 Author Posted 18 January 2007 Hmmmm, was just announced on Talk Sport that Wolves have rejected Sounesses 20mill bid, a spokesman said "there are other parties who are offering much more". Oh Milan, please say its not true! I hardly think he's going to go from getting LCFC for F*** all to paying 20mill upfront for Wolves.
Babylon Posted 18 January 2007 Posted 18 January 2007 I hardly think he's going to go from getting LCFC for F*** all to paying 20mill upfront for Wolves. But Davie, he is paying us £25m upfront.^
davieG Posted 18 January 2007 Author Posted 18 January 2007 But Davie, he is paying us £25m upfront.^ Yes I know £2 5 mill
MBK Posted 18 January 2007 Posted 18 January 2007 But Davie, he is paying us £25m upfront.^ Is he? Cause there's so much confusion. I really hope details come out soon. Eitherway I think the board should raise 1 million in transfer funds. Getting in the prem with or without mandaric for one season will put 70 million into the club. Isnt that enough to get the club up and running

Yeah you'd have thought all the legal stuff would have been done but solictors, lawyer, e.t.c, get paid loads for doing little. sounds like me at work [joking] i bet a lawyer will be paid £100,000 minimum to complete the deal and he's really fooked it up

Yeah you'd have thought all the legal stuff would have been done but solictors, lawyer, e.t.c, get paid loads for doing little. Weeks? Try months! Seriously, this stuff starting causing my brain to try to burrow out of my skull via my nostrils about two months ago now...
filbertboy Posted 18 January 2007 Posted 18 January 2007 News update it wasnt the wind that blew the roof off the holiday inn it was MM ( who was staying there !) blowing his lid when lcfc said ..oh it will be another week while we find more hidden debts for you to pay !
DanTheFoxBhoy Posted 18 January 2007 Posted 18 January 2007 Stadium wise - we believe the Teachers deal will just be maintained until we get into the Premiership. If we then stay there with the £m's from Sky money MM then may look at buying the ground (you could argue that the current board would have had the same option, but we have to get there first). This is sensible from a business perspective. He's not into pissing money away and wants results before re-assessing. We want results too, it appears we have common ground.
Jon the Hat Posted 19 January 2007 Posted 19 January 2007 News update it wasnt the wind that blew the roof off the holiday inn it was MM ( who was staying there !) blowing his lid when lcfc said ..oh it will be another week while we find more hidden debts for you to pay ! And THAT post my friends is a fine example of the power of MM's media machine at work. 1) There were no hidden debts. 2) Delays are down to both sides, and at the heart of them lies MM tactics of reducing the price by challenging every single little detail in the accounts and using each one to knock a "reasonable" amount off the value of the club. Then when you add them all up: Ooh look the club is worth nothing, you should just hand over the keys and I'll give you a tenner each when my £30M cheque arrives from the TV companies. 3) It will happen, there is no way on the earth that MM is going to walk after getting this close. I will concede it is possible he might leave it for 6 months and come back in the summer, but I doubt that very much, as he will believe some good management can save us from relegation.

Its big bucks and he wont just spend for spend sake. Any good businessman would do the same and analyse everything linked to the clubs finances. He is a serious football man who has past experience of buying clubs so I wouldnt see him delaying stuff to get the price down as had he taken over a month back and given Kelly funds, we could have been heading towards the play-offs, a prize that outweighs lowering the value of our footy club. 3) MM will walk if he thinks that the people he is dealing with are incompetent. If it goes beyond the transfer window I reckon the bloke will look at another possible venture. To be honest, I cant believe how patient he has been!!
The People's Hero Posted 19 January 2007 Posted 19 January 2007 If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem. This has little relevance, but somebody said it to me yesterday and I liked it.
Thracian Posted 19 January 2007 Posted 19 January 2007 And so it drags on. And as it does so any chance of taking advantage of the transfer window gradually disappears. We are like an greyhound stuck in the outside trap. Handcapped anyway and now unable to give ourselves even a fighting chance of contesting the race. From ThisisLeicestershire (Bill Anderson): Milan Mandaric has today re-iterated that his takeover bid for Leicester City is worth £25 million. "The re-assurance comes after questions were raised in certain quarters about whether the Serbian-American tycoon's deal included the £17 million debt for the stadium. A spokesman for Mandaric insisted that was the case, saying: "Taking over the debt for the stadium, which we calculate as £17 million, is, and always has been, an integral part of the offer right from the very start." The major question now is when will the takeover be concluded. The saga has been going on for more than two and a half months. And if the fans, manager Robert Kelly and the players are frustrated by the drawn-out process, so is Mandaric. The deal was supposed to happen yesterday but it looks like it will now be next week. The important thing is it will happen. The delays mean Mandaric will have very few days left of the transfer window in which to boost manager Robert Kelly's squad, something that is causing him the most frustration. While loan deals, rather than permanent transfers, were earlier said to be the most likely path, it will still be cutting it fine. A further delay would mean that this season is a write-off at best with survival not yet accomplished. The real impact would be felt in the summer as City build up for their next campaign, and that was not the ideal scenario for Mandaric when he set out on this path. He said: "Time is running out and I am worried there will not be enough of it left to do what we would want to do. "It has been a very complicated and long process, very frustrating for us all. "But it is going to happen and, I hope, as soon as we possibly can." The first proposed date was clearly optimistic, but the fact that he has stuck with it is testament to his stamina. If ever a club was looking a gift horse in the mouth, it is City. The longer that the process has gone on, the more uncertainty there has been about the whole affair. But hang on to this thought. Whenever it actually happens, it will be well worth waiting for."

Surreal Madrid Posted 19 January 2007 Posted 19 January 2007 1) There must have been as he has gone public and it hasnt been refuted by the Leicester board. The board are not allowed to make any statements because of the strictures of the takeover code and confidentiality agreements with MM. It does beg the question how MM manages to get information he wants public into the Mercury, as the same rules should apply to him.

We are like an greyhound stuck in the outside trap. Handcapped anyway and now unable to give ourselves even a fighting chance of contesting the race. £6m+ for PNE Nugent, £8m turned down for Bale at Soton, £1.3m turned down for Billy Sharp, Southend want over £4m for Freddy Eastwood.... Im not sure what type of player we could afford anyway!!! Maybe it`ll be best we wait for the summer anyway as these prices are crazy!
