Master Fox Posted 17 January 2007 Posted 17 January 2007 We'll see who is right before the week is out, methinks. Yeah??? Well....we shall see!
Onion Posted 17 January 2007 Posted 17 January 2007 keep dowie the hell away from here, he belongs in The Goonies 2: Return Of Sloth.
davieG Posted 17 January 2007 Author Posted 17 January 2007 And the former Blackburn coach admits he is braced for a "thunderbolt" from Mandaric, who is thought to prefer a higher-profile manager like Iain Dowie. His current higher profile is mainly down to his dishonest departure from CP and his demise at Charlton, hardly an advertisement for a club that, under MM will be looking to rise to the Premiership.
Mort Posted 17 January 2007 Posted 17 January 2007 His current higher profile is mainly down to his dishonest departure from CP and his demise at Charlton, hardly an advertisement for a club that, under MM will be looking to rise to the Premiership. Well observed, i think it probably best to learn from the FA's failure to get a decent England manager and wait for the summer, unless we have a terrible run for the next few games and find ourselves in a worsened position (possible), its best to wait to till the summer, when there will be more options and carry out and root-and-branch clear out and review of the club's coaching staff and a proper study of the playing staff, the comercial/buissness side of things can be sorted out pretty much as soon as the take-over is completed (if it is... and we're all hoping it is), but we shouldnt restict our freedom of action by attempting to restructure the club in the middle of the season... wait till the summer, baring major fu*k-ups by RK and Co (which while possible should still be unlikley).
amitoo Posted 17 January 2007 Posted 17 January 2007 I can't believe that MM would want to bring in Iain 'F**kin' Dowie once he takes over, with the money he is risking in this club i'm sure he could find another manager who would easily take us to the top with the funds available. Please give kelly a chance, i dont find it fair to give him the boot cause he has done very well considering he has had no transfer funds since taking over, and its not like we are bottom and the team has been playing good football. Once he spends im sure the team will pick up and everyone will be happy with kelly.. Lets all look on the bright side.....Least We aint covsum at the moment HAHHHHHAHAHHAHAH Na-na-nana, na-na-nana, hey, good bye Micky A

In the end young and hungry will prove a much wiser policy if patience prevails. After considering the apparent options, I've just sent an email to the club expressing the hope that RK keeps his job and gets the opportunity to continue trying to lift this club back to where it belongs. I've had my doubts and will continue to be critical but have also said that critical doesn't mean anti and that I don't believe further managerial upheaval will be in the best interests of our club. Yes, if someone like Luca Vialla, Wenger or even a Kevin Keegan were the alternatives then perhaps I couldn't resist but you can stick Dowie and others like him who offer no evidence that they will be better than Kelly as he learns and progresses. Let's give him the real chance many believe he deserves and let's hope Mandaric can help him become a man after his own heart.

Master Fox Posted 17 January 2007 Posted 17 January 2007 **Picks himself up off the floor** Well said. Just as well, can get a bit grimey down there!
Geo V Posted 17 January 2007 Posted 17 January 2007 I wont open the champagne bottle on MMs arrival quite yet but Im sure the focus for RK is on the pitch ahead of todays game and we will get an announcement on Thursday or Friday. The Telelgraph report that states we have £3m to spend is great, but if there is any credence to that I hope we dont have a knee-jerk reaction and buy players quickly to try to get into the play-offs. We are only a handful of points away from relegation so we need a sense of perspective IMO.
Fox in a Box Posted 17 January 2007 Posted 17 January 2007 U2 its a beautiful day, get the track ready.......for the impending news..... Mandy the banks are open 9am to 3-30 to take out yer DOSH! What yer playing at DUCK!
Fox in a Box Posted 17 January 2007 Posted 17 January 2007 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ity/6268177.stm Mandy sets Foxes takeover date By Andrew McKenzie Milan Mandaric Mandaric left Portsmouth in September last year Milan Mandaric is hopeful his £25m takeover of Leicester will go through before the weekend. The former Portsmouth owner has become frustrated by the delay in finalising a deal, but is confident any remaining glitches will soon be ironed out. "We are close," Mandaric told BBC Sport. "There are a couple of issues that need to be resolved hopefully in the next few days. "Definitely by the game against Birmingham on Saturday." Mandaric was expected to have made a formal bid for the club before Christmas after being given permission to look at the club's books in November. But the period of due diligence brought up issues that have delayed matters. "It's a frustrating time for me. It's taking so long, much longer than I thought," Mandaric added. "The explanation from the lawyers is always the same: it's a public company, it takes time to satisfy the code and the panel. "They are always issues related to commercial or financial deals and some unknown things I need to look over and make a decision on immediately. At this time I'm not looking for a manager or anything else Milan Mandaric "If I looked at this as a business we would probably walk away but I'm keen to get back in football. "Sometimes you have to close your eyes on some of the things because football doesn't always bring the clean-cut situation in a business sense. "I'd like to get it done one way or the other as this is not what I anticipated. "It's not at my end. It is something I need to overcome and I wasn't quite aware of. I'm not accusing or pointing the finger at anyone it was just something that was found during investigation. "The price is not the problem whatsoever. It has been agreed." Mandaric denied weekend reports he will appoint former Crystal Palace and Charlton manager Iain Dowie when he takes over - saying he has been impressed with current boss Rob Kelly. He added: "At this time I'm not looking for a manager or anything else. I just want to resolve the ownership of the club and then look at existing structure. "I'm not committed to Iain Dowie or anyone else at this point. "Unfortunately I have not been allowed many dealings with the manager (Kelly) but I did have the opportunity to meet with him two or three times. "He is a good solid young man who is a great coach and apparently gets on well with players and probably gets the best out of them. "I don't know much about him or his capabilities but so far I'm impressed with him."

Thracian Posted 17 January 2007 Posted 17 January 2007 **Picks himself up off the floor** Well said. You've not been without influence in that. Your reference to Kelly's work at Blackburn, and other points you (I think) and others made about too many managerial changes not being a good idea. I have said all along that it is not Kelly I disapprove of but cautious/negative football - whether he plays it or anyone else - and that won't change. But my feeling is that he wants to attack and, while that remains true, I see no point in change just for changes sake.
Brummie-FOX Posted 17 January 2007 Posted 17 January 2007 Well this all sounds promising. Im sure I won't be the only one disappointed if the deal isn't done this time tomorrow?
Webbo Posted 17 January 2007 Posted 17 January 2007 So the rumours about people from Syston is right then I see... he must be from the council estate.

We'll just have to wait and see if they're right won't we? that's been mentioned by lots of sources, sounds about right though, just in time for the televised match on friday. maybe i'm just being cynical but i reckon it could have happened monday but it's all being orchestrated for maximum publicity.
