Daggers Posted 29 October 2006 Posted 29 October 2006 I'd like him to bring some financial relief... One could say, if he takes over the board, that he will be providing executive relief
lookwhaticando Posted 29 October 2006 Posted 29 October 2006 One could say, if he takes over the board, that he will be providing executive relief Sounds like he's taking a piss in a golden toilet.
Jon the Hat Posted 29 October 2006 Posted 29 October 2006 That's not entirely true... I'd like him to bring some financial relief so we can bring in decent replacements when we need them. What I don't want is a wholesale change of the playing staff. Our first choice strikers are good enough. Our CB pairing and Goalkeeper are great. We just need a few options in a few positions and we're laughing. What we need Mandaric for is mostly to cut our debts. Once we cut the debt enough, the club itself should be in relatively good shape financially. That's something we can thank the current board for, they've kept things sensible. Mandaric won't reduce the debt, the club will just owe him the money instead. From what we have read previously the reason Harry quit Pompey was becuase Milan was pushing money into the academy and trying to look to the long term. I think he has unfinished business becuase he never delivered the stadium he promised Pompey. So lets see what he promises us first. The idea of a money man seems so exciting, but i can't help feeling that we will be losing something.

I'm sure others would love to see money spent on the academy over the current squad.
Bluefoxtim Posted 29 October 2006 Posted 29 October 2006 All I can say is, glad we haven't recieved a statement denying everything!
Fez of Mahrez Posted 29 October 2006 Posted 29 October 2006 He's far from perfect but the current bunch are still hanging around "incompetent and clueless", trying to thumb a lift towards respectability.
Ajax Treesdown Posted 29 October 2006 Posted 29 October 2006 Do you think Mandaric would be compatible with Kelly? I think so. Kelly has soldiered on with the team despite the fiscal constraints, and he's a nice bloke. Surely since he's been bound by the board in this one aspect, he can tolerate the hands-on nature of Mandaric should a bid eventuate. To be honest, if Mandaric comes in and kicks the manager and coaches out then we can't really moan. As most of us would put the board, a higher priority. After all, Milan Mandaric = GOD!!
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 29 October 2006 Posted 29 October 2006 I wonder if or when Milan Mandaric comes to The Walkers, is there any likelihood he could have any associate with him who could do to City what Abramovich has to Chelski?? I, for one, think this may be more likely than people realise as we do have lots of potential and MM, I'm sure, has lots of associates Up the City

Boris Berezovsky might fit the bill. Sometime mate of Abramovic, dealt in guns like Gaydamak sr. Bit of trouble over him having people offed but does have plenty of wonga.

Good call, Boris lives down the road from me, I'll pop round as sound him out. He might be looking for something to launder some money through keep him busy..

SystonFox Posted 29 October 2006 Posted 29 October 2006 THE FLAG WILL BE OUT IN F1 ON TUESDAY FOR THIS ONE BOYS!!!!
Foxes_Trust Posted 29 October 2006 Posted 29 October 2006 Here is the latest 1) The club will be releasing a statement tomorrow 2) Our understanding is that the club are currently in the position of having several potential options of new investment to consider 3) The club would not be drawn as to whether one of those was MM or not (draw your own conclusions) Therefore early days, but potentially exciting ones if more money is coming into the club one way or another. And for information the journalist who published the MM story is known for having the direct route to him, so it's appearance would have been "sanctioned".
SystonFox Posted 29 October 2006 Posted 29 October 2006 Cheers F_T. milan to be unveiled at HT during the stoke match. you heard it here 1st.
