bold_fox Posted 30 October 2006 Posted 30 October 2006 I wonder what odds you'd get on Leicester being in the Prem next year...
Master Fox Posted 30 October 2006 Posted 30 October 2006 Whats the odds this thread gets to 100 pages by the end of the day. :pinch: 100-1
Babylon Posted 30 October 2006 Posted 30 October 2006 Surely not. they are not really making money out of the club, and things are only going to get worse if we have no money to invest in new players. This is an easy get out clause for a lot of the board members, also, it will be financially benefical to a lot of them The way i see it, its a win win situation for everyone involved. I'm not on about them making money, i'm on about the kudos it gets them saying "I own Leicester, aren't I great". I need to know what Mandaric is offering before I get too carried away, but i think i'd rather have him than the same people who have steared us into the shitty mess we currently are.
Daggers Posted 30 October 2006 Posted 30 October 2006 I'm not on about them making money, i'm on about the kudos it gets them saying "I own Leicester, aren't I great". ...and then there's those who hang around the board that get to sit in the box and drink in the lounge after games. I'm unsure how much they will be happy in giving up that perk, I doubt they have a future in MM's boardroom.
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 30 October 2006 Posted 30 October 2006 If Mr Mandaric does arrive soon and ploughs some transfer funds into the club for January who do you think we should sign???? Maybe a creative central midfielder someone like Koumas??? Also what do you think will happen to Messrs Kelly and Stowell? Are they safe?
Katy Posted 30 October 2006 Posted 30 October 2006 If Milan can make us financially sound and a successful football club again then im all for it, but with the inevitable ticket price hike I sadly wont be there to see it.
Daggers Posted 30 October 2006 Posted 30 October 2006 I wonder if the number of speculative Mandy-threads will top the 100 mark before the end of the week?

bold_fox Posted 30 October 2006 Posted 30 October 2006 A positive that no-one has really metioned is that of the reputation Milan has. Everyone, including the players knows how successful he was at Pompey. So if he was to take over, it would result in the club being more attractive when drawing new players in, and maybe even new coaching personel. This could be a great day in the clubs history.

Those being the same people who put their hand in their pocket to save the club?
harpendenfox Posted 30 October 2006 Posted 30 October 2006 Didn't Pompey nearly go down last year? It's the guy that's taken over from MM that has poured money into the club and is behind the big money singings they made this summer

Who appointed him, I wonder?
Babylon Posted 30 October 2006 Posted 30 October 2006 The same people who ensured we actually have a club to support, and a club the Mr mandaric thinks is well worth buying in to.............some people have dreadfully short memories......... My memory is fine thanks. If it wasn't for some of those people we wouldn't have needed saving in the bloody first place. Chipping in a hundred grand when you have millions in the bank is like me giving them a grand (which I pretty much did do when I bought shares) well worth it they were!!!! IF Mandarics bid is a good one and IF they sanction it then hats off to them. They will walk away with a pocket full of gold for their troubles. I just think the old boys club have had there chance several times.
Babylon Posted 30 October 2006 Posted 30 October 2006 For those who think MM is God's gift - two words " Alain Perrin ". Who appointed him, I wonder? The guy is a fruit loop... I want to see his bid before I go one way or another. I'm just sick of the way the club is run at present.
Steven Posted 30 October 2006 Posted 30 October 2006 mmmmthanks but no thanks mr mandy we dont want your money ... that'll mean a huge season ticket hike if he comes in !!! mark my words!! You get what you pay for.
DanTheFoxBhoy Posted 30 October 2006 Posted 30 October 2006 Didn't Pompey nearly go down last year? It's the guy that's taken over from MM that has poured money into the club and is behind the big money singings they made this summer Portsmouth lacked a heck of a lot more than we are lacking now when Milan took over. Portsmouth still need investment now Milan has left, and that was even after all the $$ he poured into the club. I think we're a far better chance at Premiership stability given the right formula. Mick Doyle just sent me some matchday magazines in the mail, including v. Newcastle Nov 2000. We were third in the premiership under Man Utd and Arsenal that day (we were top of the table that October?) Sort of a pre-echo of where Portsmouth are now... Portsmouth finished 20th in the First Division that season as well.

I just think the old boys club have had there chance several times. If you look at our shareholders, I think one was involved in a board capacity prior to administration, and he was brought in to try to salvage the club. The present shareholders dug deep, no one forced them to - and unlike MM, I don't think they would have been looking to make a return on their investment.
Ryanside Posted 30 October 2006 Posted 30 October 2006 not to be too optimistic but champions league here we come haha!!!
Benji Posted 30 October 2006 Posted 30 October 2006 Well done Kayteh. I have shown your post to Mrs Hullfox and pointed her in the direction of the washing machine. You set a good example. hahahahahaha

brookfox Posted 1 November 2006 Posted 1 November 2006 Businessman Milan Mandaric has put forward his £25 million offer to buy Leicester City. He spoke of "reawakening" the club and bringing Premiership football back to the Walkers Stadium after making his bid last night. The Serbian-American multi-millionaire was expected to make his move for the club later this week, but interest from other parties prompted him to put in his bid now. He said the club have something tangible to consider after all the speculation. Mr Mandaric said today: "I feel I have made a fair and generous offer to acquire Leicester City Football Club from the present shareholders. "Under the circumstances, and following a very emotional departure from Portsmouth after nearly eight years of ownership, I have given serious thought to the offer, the timing and implications of such a bid. "In an ideal world I would have preferred to have delayed my return to football, but under the circumstances and following other interest in the club, I have had to accelerate my takeover plans. "My aim is to reawaken Leicester City and aspire to the dreams of their passionate supporters and bring Premiership football back to the club at the earliest opportunity." After last night's win against Stoke City, the club issued the following statement, saying the board were looking at the offer. "We can confirm the club have received an offer and this will be given due consideration," it read. It is understood it may take a fortnight for the board to go through the formalities of considering the offer. A £25 million deal would, at a stroke, remove the Foxes' debt - the most significant being the £15.9 million owed to an American loan company for the Walkers Stadium - pay off the shareholders and still leave enough for a transfer fund for City boss Robert Kelly. Kelly revealed that, before last night's victory, he ordered his players to put any thoughts about the impending offer out of their minds. He said: "I got them together and told them to concentrate on what we do, play the game itself, to keep on doing that and, if there is anything to tell them, then I will do it." If successful, the final formalities of the Mandaric takeover are expected to coincide with the opening of football's transfer window in January. There are three other companies interested in buying Leicester City - two American firms and a Midlands-based concern.
