Fox in a Box Posted 1 November 2006 Posted 1 November 2006 Former Portsmouth owner Milan Mandaric has confirmed he has made a bid for Championship club Leicester. "I feel I have made a fair and generous offer to acquire Leicester City Football Club from the present shareholders," said the 68-year-old. Mandaric left Portsmouth in September and revealed he would have preferred a longer break between clubs. But he added: "Following other interest in the club I have had to accelerate takeover plans." Mandaric's bid is believed to be in the region of £25m. "My aim is to re-awaken Leicester City and aspire to the dreams of their passionate supporters and bring Premiership football back to the club at the earliest opportunity," he said. Mandaric guided Portsmouth into the Premiership before selling the club to Alexandre Gaydamak earlier this year. I'd expect some string resistance from you board, just to hold out to see of they can get more money... It won't be a case of just accepting the bid, because of the other options. They will wait for bids from the other potential investors then make a decision.... I could see this taking a while though.... Still very good news.... You get theimpression that MM really wants the club which is a bonus.
