Lineker's Left Foot Posted 23 September 2006 Posted 23 September 2006 OK, Foxes Trust, even you must admit that the current board are unacceptable. We are constrained by a load of unambitious idiots controlling our club. They have to go !! I am voting with my feet and NOT going until they are gone !! BOARD OUT, BOARD OUT, BOARD OUT !! Oh please let the protests begin !!

Ultra Posted 24 September 2006 Posted 24 September 2006 and to take over there is?????????????????? Exactly...
Manwell Pablo Posted 24 September 2006 Posted 24 September 2006 and to take over there is?????????????????? Well Derby protested about their board for ages...and look... they have a new one. Maybe if life was made difficult for the current set off incompetens they may find it a bit easier to find a buyer.

Maybe if life was made difficult for the current set off incompetens they may find it a bit easier to find a buyer. The sad thing is there have been chances for others to take over, but no-one has appeared! There has to be a change, though. The current board are clueless and leading us towards League 1!

They have to go !! I am voting with my feet and NOT going until they are gone !! BOARD OUT, BOARD OUT, BOARD OUT !! Oh please let the protests begin !! And who do we have to replace them? Then we'll have no-one controlling our club. If Milan came in, yes, fantastic, but who else have we got to take over? Think before speaking mate
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 24 September 2006 Author Posted 24 September 2006 and to take over there is?????????????????? OK, of course the problem maybe to see who will takeover, but with Mandaric being touted and him not 'saying no', then therefore he needs to be encouraged to come in. We ARE TOO BIG a club to be languishing near the bottom. Of course, we're not the sized of Man Utd etc, but I firmly believe with the potential fan base we've got, we're the next class down who could eventually be pushing for a UEFA Cup place. WE HAVE TO ACT NOW !!
ithuriel Posted 24 September 2006 Posted 24 September 2006 and to take over there is?????????????????? the usual positive reply from our all action , goods delivering FT
Suffolk_fox Posted 24 September 2006 Posted 24 September 2006 And I used to think that Terry Shipman was bad....

But that wouldn't alert them to anything would it, they'd look at the attendances and think "Ah we've lost anothe X amount of fans todays game" A Protest - That says to me you will turn up to games chanting for them to go...Just staying away ain't gonna do anything.
The People's Hero Posted 24 September 2006 Posted 24 September 2006 The Foxes Trust are supposed to represent us. Can't they start making noises?
Shipman Out Posted 24 September 2006 Posted 24 September 2006 Without ANY investment we will struggle to retain Championship status this year and in the years to come, cant the board see that??????? Cant the Foxes Trust??? Or do we display such arrogance to believe that because we have recently been a big fish that we will compete with little and NO investment year after year....please tell me how long it will be untill the people that saved us realise that without investment there is nothing to save!! This club is on its arse!, trying to get by on the cheap even with the manager, for how long? look at the rest of the Championship investment in the team everywhere you look, we will soon be a League one club in terms of financial structure its only a matter of time that the team live up to that. We are running the club on the cheap and without a single shread of ambition..none what so ever. So what do we expect Im sick of the place im sick of people moaning about atmosphere but wont move the kop and continue to spend the money on SS style stewards if you build a corporate stadium designed for hob nobbing guestsand police it with facists what kind of atmosphere do you expect?.....so i invest for a ticket without ambition and a rudderless club drifting to oblivion....no ill just go away games.

It brings it to there attention, makes them feel uncomfortable they might cough on there prawn sandwiches behind the toughened glass whilst entertaining the matchball sponsers, Are we confident the "kop" can sing loud enough to be heard in the boardroom cos im not I knew there was a reason for stripping all the soul from the terraces and thats it so the big man cannot hear the little man complain (I have a chip on my shoulder so i never go hungry )

At last somebody is standing by me !!! I may be employing shock tactics on this thread, but either voting with feet or protests at the end of the game will help !! WE AREN'T A SMALL CLUB and WE SHOULD be investing in players !! The board should EITHER put up or SHUT up !!! This area of the country is poor for football and I BELIEVE OUR CLUB could be the one to brighten up the East Midlands in the footballing stakes with European football if the board were to continue to invest over a long period.

dandannieldanok Posted 24 September 2006 Posted 24 September 2006 Why did they not offer Joey Gudjonsson a contract before Alkmaar came in with an offer. We need him back!
Mort Posted 24 September 2006 Posted 24 September 2006 As i said on another thread, photocopy, print etc... the placards, think you the chants and I'm right behind the protesting! Why did they not offer Joey Gudjonsson a contract before Alkmaar came in with an offer. We need him back! Coz their eejits!
Finnegan Posted 24 September 2006 Posted 24 September 2006 Ok. I am financially ignorant. I'd like to think as far as on-pitch jabber goes, I'm fairly well informed about the sports I follow. But when it comes to the business side I have to fully admit I'm clueless. I'm 20, have never been in a major corporation, haven't even left the educational process and unlike most of the forum's teens / early twenties I'm not going to echo the 'board out!' clichés just to make myself look like some pseudo-intellectual just to impress everyone else. So. Can someone with a brain between their ears please explain to me what sort of money-conjuring miracle (short of mortgaging our players to a German bank ) a fresh, new set of businessmen are meant to do for the club? We're meant to click our fingers, get a whole new board and suddenly the club's debts will just up and vanish? We bring in some Harry Hudini style genius who can wriggle us out of financial instability and just abracadabra up a £10m transfer budget, yeah? We just employ the Enron lads and encourage them to build a football club on money that doesn't exist, what? Seriously. I appreciate we don't have the world's best marketing department at the club and I appreciate we're all fed up of the gimmicks. But what am I missing, here? You can shout 'board out' til the cows come home, but where's the money suddenly going to appear from?

I guess fundamentally we're not looking fo an investor in the traditional sense, we're looking for some one who is rich (subjective) and is prepared to see whatever investment they have made disappear. They will either be An LCFC football nut. A general football nut A power mad nut A nut What we don't want is someone who lends money to the club at an exorbitent interest rate or at a low/zero interest rate gets bored and pulls all their money out letting us collapse, or comes in and gets their money back by selling Belvoir Drive, anyway I think you get the drift.
Finnegan Posted 24 September 2006 Posted 24 September 2006 So what you're asking for is a miracle? So 'board out!' is actually one of the most pointless statements anybody ever made? You're not begrudging the work of the board, you're just desperate for some multi-zillionaire to invest obscene amounts of cash into the club? For God's sakes. The club, fans and players need inspiration - a bit of dollar, dollar bill would't go amiss - but we're not doomed to fail without Milan Manderic, Roman Abramovic or - I dunno - Turin RandomrussiansyllabletofollowanitaliananemOvic on board.

WE HAVE TO ACT NOW !! Right... so the current board, although with its flaws, is cleaning up the mess that the former board got us in. So we want to toss this board out as well and bring in another board to try and clean up the stuff left by the first two all while magically pulling 17 mil out of their arses? :pinch:

Aside from the fact that a prospective buyer will be looking to minimise investment - this only happens when a club has gone into receivership or when a board has been placed in a position where they will accept substantially less for an offer than if things were on an even keel. We are not doomed without a major investor - but we are doomed to continue to suffer the seventh level of Dante's Inferno that is the current team.
Manwell Pablo Posted 24 September 2006 Posted 24 September 2006 Well the bottom line is a few of us need to except that we have no money and there is very little us as fans can do about it apart from put pressure on the board to sell up and piss off. Even then there needs to be someone interested in buying us, which apparently according to the Birch there isn't. Whether he means investors or buyers I am unsure. An injection of a cash will help this club no end, we don't have to rid ourselves of debt completely, most clubs operate in the red , and carry on splashing out on expensive players, this is because they can manage their debt without worry of going under, which is where we differ. All we can afford to do at the moment is maintain the current wage bill and pay the interest of the Stadium debt each year. If that debt was reduced by whatever means so would the interest payments, and we may actually have a little bit of money. The new owner or investor may pump a bit of money ( not 10 million perhaps just 1 or 2 ) to get some new players around the place, get a buzz about the club again and increase gate revenue. They could set up a new marketing campaign, something different, a million miles away from the current New York Yankess approach. I'm no PHD in Finance so I don't know how Derby managed to get 40 odd million pounds worth of debt written off over night, or exactly how Cov have managed to get the local big wigs to inject 6 million over 3 years, but someone who could half as good as that for us would be more than welcome. The problem is we aren't a terrible attractive prospect at the moment, we have a big stadium and a fairly large city/county area which provides a very extensive fan base. Problem being we don't own the stadium and we are losing fans each week, in that respect the club have done more harm than good giving away free tickets on Saturday, an extra 4000 people saw exactly why spending 20 quid on Leicester City is a waste of money. After every bad result there is an uproar which dies down after two or three days, next week we will probably get a point off Brum and everyone will be happy again. We're fickle and I’m not afraid to admit it. We're just in a hole and there isn't a massive amount we can do about it, sack RK and employ who, Mike Stowell? Thats about all we can afford. We can't get rid of the board until someone wants to buy. I think we should just accept our lot, and hope for the players to perform on the pitch, Thrcian seems to have everyone whipped into a frenzy about the teenagers we send out on a Saturday every week, what he needs to remember is that they are young players and a good three of four years off anything resembling their best. As is this team. If someone comes along and buys then that would be great, but we can't make someone want to buy Leicester City.
