The People's Hero Posted 26 January 2007 Posted 26 January 2007 So where do you draw the line? What about bisexuals? What about straight men who enjoy a bit of bum fun after rugby matches in the showers?
stez Posted 26 January 2007 Posted 26 January 2007 being involved in the adoption process, as i have been, the children have a very large say in where they go. they are not placed with anyone they don't feel happy with.

Milky Posted 26 January 2007 Posted 26 January 2007 There's a film on channel five at the moment called jack, or something like that, it's about a boy who finds out his dad is gay. They all bully him at school now and wrote "Fag baby" on his locker.
stez Posted 26 January 2007 Posted 26 January 2007 What about very young children ie toddlers\babies Stez???? i was just about to edit my post to put, 'obviously not bairns and very very young children'
MC Prussian Posted 26 January 2007 Posted 26 January 2007 This is a case for... ... Burns Man!!! Burns Man?
Babylon Posted 26 January 2007 Posted 26 January 2007 being involved in the adoption process, as i have been, the children have a very large say in where they go. they are not placed with anyone they don't feel happy with. As I said earlier that's a big thing. Older children who are able to understand what it could entail and make a choice for themselves should be given every option available to them, including gay couples. Stez, you know about this area. Is there a long list of mixed sex couples waiting for babies, or are there kids out there going into care because there is a lack of people wanting to adopt? I would imagine it would be a long waiting list myself. (I'm talking babies here by the way).

(I'm talking babies here by the way). you're right; everyone wants a baby, or a young child (toddler to say, 3 or 4) and there is a long waiting list, not because of a lack of babies (my mum has and endless amount coming to her to be fostered), but the way (some) social services stop perfectly good couples from having a child because they're not quite perfect enough (who is?) and it's not just white couples being prevented from taking black children, but i also heard about a black couple who were stopped from having a black child because the man didn't have a 'black enough attitude'. one of the real problems though are the adolescent kids who are left in childrens homes because noone wants them. they just want a family who'll love them, accept they have problems, help them deal with them.

leicesterboys Posted 26 January 2007 Posted 26 January 2007 no you can't do that you the kid will get bullied.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 26 January 2007 Posted 26 January 2007 Why is everyone getting so het up about bullying? 1) It happens anyway. 2) Removing one chance of a loving home adopting kids isn't exactly the right approach to reduce the bullying menace that you so wish to avoid.

Would you like to go to school and facing constant abuse just because your dads are both gay? I can understand what you are trying to say but I'm not sure you realise how bad the bullying would be.

It was all about Scotland.
Joe. Posted 26 January 2007 Posted 26 January 2007 Nah, I never went to school. I was educated by wolves. Andy Gray was a crap Geography teacher. It was all about Scotland. Well you know what I'm trying to say. The bullying would be far worse than you make it out it would be.
leicesterboys Posted 26 January 2007 Posted 26 January 2007 i still go school and if someone is gay then they get bullied worse than any other case and if your dads were gay then you would get so badly abused.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 26 January 2007 Posted 26 January 2007 Well you know what I'm trying to say. The bullying would be far worse than you make it out it would be. I didn't specify any level of abuse. It would be horrific. Slaughter. Soul-destroyingly awful. Too bad to even TRY to make the world a better place in any way. I bet you all wore 'Beat Bullying' wristbands too. Surrender monkeys.

Tell you what, I'd rather flit from home to home, always in care and never with a family to love me and look after me.
DanTheFoxBhoy Posted 27 January 2007 Posted 27 January 2007 No from me. I think anything that digresses from the traditional family unit is destructive to a child's upbringing.
cisono Posted 27 January 2007 Posted 27 January 2007 No from me. I think anything that digresses from the traditional family unit is destructive to a child's upbringing. I guess that is what I was trying to say as well...
Rincewind Posted 27 January 2007 Posted 27 January 2007 so we are back to the number one argument against, bullying at school. better check if a prospective adoptive parent is left-handed. The child will be bullied. Or if the child wears glasses. The child will be bullied. The parents are overweight underweight or has a squint or stutter. The child will be bullied. Or stop a couple adopting because the child will not have natual blood parents coming from a care home and will be bullied. Best to leave them in care to be on the safe side.
