I'd like to think you're right, but which do you think it really is?

One can only speculate, but I find it difficult to understand why Watford wanted him, he's hardly going to be the key to their Premiership survival and his career has been largely unsuccessful spending most of it trying to help Forest & Leicester avoid relegation to the 3rd division.

RK may have said he'd talked about a new contract but unless MM came in that would involve a massive cut. I suspect that as soon as Watford made it clear they were interested GW would have been told and would grab the chance of 2.5 year premier/championship contract at Watford even if he ended up playing in this division next year.

That means RK was automatically on the back foot irrespective of our financial situation. I personally reckon something in the region of £150k pus add ons up to £250K.

Sound reasoning.

I would like to know who else is going to play centre mid. I suppose hughes will revert back but it also does leave the window open for the wonder that is AJ lol:unsure:

Or Porter? he supposed to be able to play CM, and with us signing two wingers it sounds like a possibility, Hughes and Porter in the middle with Weso on the bench?

Maybe it was Watford who didn't want it disclosed in order to not be embarrassed admitting they'd paid over the odds for him :P

Maybe, Hopefully, but c'mon we're talking Leicester City here!

I'd be optimistic. If we got a potential £100,000 for Low, and £65,000 for O'Grady I cannot see we'd have taken less than £200,000 for Williams, perhaps with a small add on.

With his contract running out fast, anything more would have been impressive.

You had to edit that? lol

What was up with it? Not enough Y's? :D

For some reason it put a few of the S's on the row below. It just didn't look right.

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

See.

EDIT: Okay it didn't do it that time.

yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssssssssssssssssssss!

EDIT: Like that.

Love his interview on the Watford OS:

"once I knew Watford were interested there was only going to be one answer"

"it's great to come to a big club" blah blah

Therein lies the problem. Most of these guys don't give a damn who they're playing for as long as money is going in the bank.

At least with Tiatto, warts and all, he looks like he cares. For that I can forgive his limitations

He knows he's coming straight back down next season, knows Leicester have Mandaric on the way (unless he knows something we don't) and should probably be pushing for promotion next season, and yet he's gone to Watford for half a season of Premiership football and double his money, I bet.

My thoughts too.

And, on this season's efforts I'd have Tiatto any time.

TBH if it was between 500,000/700,000, I think the club would be happy to annouce how much they got for him, As other say I doubt it's any more than 250,000, and I think it may be 100,000 maybe less and the club are embaressed about how much they got for him.

Mind you LCFC = embaressment...

Either way we have hardly spent the cash wisely. No one bought apart from the loanees but better quality players have come and gone to championship clubs today and we miss out. Macken on a freebie and Johnathan Fortune from Charlton would have done but they go elsewhere :rolleyes:

Without a deal completed for the takeover - and with the club running at an over-budget loss - I'm surprised you expected more.

The transfer window met my base level expectations...and without a serious cash injection I don't reckon we could have got more than this.

Maybe we aren't paying full salaries for the loanees? Maybe the entire thing was done on a strict budget without received transfer fees being released...just using the salary budget for the squad set at the beginning of the season?

Either way, I'm not deleriously happy or depressed with the window performance. We've got shot of some lazy inept buggers - and got in three potentially lazy &/or inept buggers. I hope they do well, I hope they do better than Low/Sylla/COG/Willums...but most of all, I hope we loan in a bit of talent after the takeover is complete

They'd be more expensive then what we have, Macken much more so and TBH he's about as good as Geoff Horsfield in my book. Ask for Fortune, remind why we need another Centre Half?

I would have preffered to get in some players with premiership experience. We kept on being linked to Todorov, Holland, O`Brien, Lua Lua and end up with these 3. Also regarding CB`s, we may have a few but Fortune and Kisnorbo would be better than any of the combinations we currently have.

As for expectations, damn right i expected better! How many players have come of the wage bill and a few hundred thousand must have been raised, especially with GW being sold to Watford. 2 long term loanees and one from Cardiff for a month doesnt do it for me. Im also hacked off that we left everything until the last minute before a mad scramble to sign players on deadline day.

By morons.

I think a few people thought we would have better quality in and I bet no one saw the Williams departure coming either. Sifting through that rumours thread was hilarious stuff at times alright as we were linked by all and sundry, especially from that ropey rumours site.
