Simi Posted 31 January 2007 Posted 31 January 2007 To be fair, Kelly has stated that the club agreed to sell him and not him. Kelly wanted to keep him, it was out of his hands. But you'd hope he has a list of targets just in case. But then again, we have money. I used to write lists of stuff I wanted as a kid, but after a few years I realised I was wasting my time. Kelly's probably done the same. I think he has. Most probably all out of our league. Maybe if we sign Horsefield this wont be so bad as we normally just resort to pupming it up to the big centre forward and missing the midfield out !
JoeyB Posted 31 January 2007 Posted 31 January 2007 we are screwed looks like johnson and huges in cm now
Lichfieldfox. Posted 31 January 2007 Posted 31 January 2007 Looks like the deal had been on the cards for a while which hacks me off even more 'cos no obvious replacement http://www.watfordfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/...~973807,00.html
Simon Posted 31 January 2007 Posted 31 January 2007 I hope Kelly's on the blower trying to get us a replacement, because our midfield is now incredibly weak. Either that or Andy King's just got a promotion...

The People's Hero Posted 31 January 2007 Posted 31 January 2007 Maybe if we sign Horsefield this wont be so bad as we normally just resort to pupming it up to the big centre forward and missing the midfield out ! Tell me that's a joke?
Simon Posted 31 January 2007 Posted 31 January 2007 Hopefully both...probably neither. I'm willing to bet quite a lot of money that you're right...
Joe. Posted 31 January 2007 Posted 31 January 2007 Kelly said on the OS that he didn't want to sell... He said the club accepted the bid and there was nothing he could do. Our club is being shafted SACK THE BOARD To be fair, you don't know how much we got from Watford. If it was a good sum, then it was a good deal for the club. Money is an issue and we need it. Simple.

Money is an issue and we need it. Simple. i think it would be around 500k - 750k due to him being out of contract in the summer, and iirc there was some doubt over him signing a new deal
Thracian Posted 31 January 2007 Posted 31 January 2007 Looks like the deal had been on the cards for a while which hacks me off even more 'cos no obvious replacement http://www.watfordfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/...~973807,00.html Wish he'd played like he tells it. Mind you he so rarely had the team around him to compliment what he might have had to offer and that worries me more than his departure. If we're not careful, the way we approach our football right now, no-one who's any good will want to come and play for us.
Matt Posted 31 January 2007 Posted 31 January 2007 Really worried now, Dunno if anyones already commented like what i'm going to post because I havn't read all the thread. Anyway, really worried now about if Milan really have fuked us of (Which tbh, I can't blame him) a few things have made me wonder in the past few days about it, and this had made me think he's fuked us of even more, Why sell one of our better players (Possibly best? ) for probably only XXX,000 pounds? Fair enough if Milan came in prehaps we can get better players than Williams, BUT Milan definetly won't be in before the Transfer window closes and now we have to wait till summer, We might have been relegated by then, so we have sold one of our better players for money that we seem desperate for (Which we wouldn't if Milan was coming in) Just got a text from LCFC. We've signed Geoff Horsefield - Great I was being optomistic about the Milan offer on hold but now I think we're fuked!

lookwhaticando Posted 31 January 2007 Posted 31 January 2007 You're very optimistic. I think it would be nearer 250k or less. They're not his numbers... a good mate of his told him we'd got 500k from them. Still no word on the 2m Mandaric gave us, though.

Webbo Posted 31 January 2007 Posted 31 January 2007 You're very optimistic. I think it would be nearer 250k or less. the fact that he was out of contract in the summer means i doubt if we got much more than £100k.
MC Prussian Posted 31 January 2007 Posted 31 January 2007 You're very optimistic. I think it would be nearer 250k or less. Oh, those lovely speculations. Btw, he's gone for good.
Smudge Posted 31 January 2007 Author Posted 31 January 2007 Wish people on this message board would make the thread titles clearer.I panicked when i thought mccauley was going. Oi that's me you're talking about! That was the best I could do after 2 Martini's, a bottle of Chianti and a Dave Matthews Concert DVD ringing in my ears..........
Matt Posted 31 January 2007 Posted 31 January 2007 TBH if it was between 500,000/700,000, I think the club would be happy to annouce how much they got for him, As other say I doubt it's any more than 250,000, and I think it may be 100,000 maybe less and the club are embaressed about how much they got for him. Mind you LCFC = embaressment...
Daggers Posted 31 January 2007 Posted 31 January 2007 Oi that's me you're talking about! That was the best I could do after 2 Martini's... You're sounding shaken but not stirred
potter3 Posted 31 January 2007 Posted 31 January 2007 Maybe it was Watford who didn't want the fee disclosed I'd think it was between £150K-£250K. Anything less is a joke really, Josh Low's fee could rise to £100K Anything more is a bonus, he was poor and over-rated. Maybe he will flourish in the Premiership as he will supposedly have more time on the ball.
