Wils Posted 31 January 2007 Posted 31 January 2007 why would he come here, alot of teams pushing for promotion will be interested and will be able to pay him more money to boot Because were a big club. The futures bright.
eaststandtom Posted 31 January 2007 Posted 31 January 2007 Has this sale only just made you think that? Welcome to the club. Ha ha!!!
Jimmy Posted 31 January 2007 Posted 31 January 2007 Because were a big club. The futures bright. we aren't though, we have the potential to be so but atm we are a midling club that is rapidly getting smaller
who-izzet Posted 31 January 2007 Posted 31 January 2007 I'm guessing £125,000-£150,000 because he was out of contract in the summer. I thought he was "on his day" one of our better players but he lacked consistancy. I honestly believe he has the potential to play premier league football. Shame he will most likely be coming back down to haunt us next season with Jordan Stewart (who's on top form). Not sure who replaces him. I head Cadamarteri can play right midfield/wing, anyone else heard this? The squad gets smaller... 26 with 10 former YT lads and thats adding Ashley Chambers (who is injured) and Mark de Vries who is on loan. Can't someone give Lineker a call and ask if he'll kindly donate another £1m.
Wils Posted 31 January 2007 Posted 31 January 2007 we aren't though, we have the potential to be so but atm we are a midling club that is rapidly getting smaller Were not,are we? I thought we were a big club.
Dames Posted 31 January 2007 Posted 31 January 2007 Not really happy with this. We've Got rid of 4 players and not brought anyone in. 1 real winger in the squad. 1 useless CM. 2 Have tendancys to get injured alot. So that leaves us with 2 decent midfielders (Hughes and Levi) Cant wait to play the mighty oldham next season.
The People's Hero Posted 31 January 2007 Posted 31 January 2007 The move suits him because Watford do try to play football and he's always looked a good player when we've played premiership opposition - the same as Hughes in that respect. Having said that, he was hardly setting anything alight here.

Mort Posted 31 January 2007 Posted 31 January 2007 Can't someone give Lineker a call and ask if he'll play? Gary should have more sense... i bet he never dreamt after he saved us that we'd be reduced to this!

The most annoying thing is that had we done this deal just 2 weeks ago, we'd probably have been able to do a straight swap for Matthew Spring, who is shit hot at this level.
Shipman Out Posted 31 January 2007 Posted 31 January 2007 Whatever people think of Williams is irrellevant! what matters is the size of the squad we have no one left and are facing relegation in the face the board turning down a move for Gudjohnsson looks even worse with this news! What the fook are this joke board and manager COACH doing!!!!

Dames Posted 31 January 2007 Posted 31 January 2007 It seems the board are accepting every offer that comes thier way at the minute. I can see someone else leaving before the end of the day. Either Kis/Stears/Maybs will be gone before the day is through.

Monk Posted 31 January 2007 Posted 31 January 2007 I've just put in a 25p offer for Johnson to play in my 5 a side team. What do you reckon my chances are?
who-izzet Posted 31 January 2007 Posted 31 January 2007 Can't someone give Lineker a call and ask if he'll play? I don't think we could afford his wages.

lildave3 Posted 31 January 2007 Posted 31 January 2007 From BBC: 1337: WATFORD buy/LEICESTER sell The moment we have all been waiting for. A Premiership signing and it is Watford who have flinched first, signing cultured midfielder Gareth Williams from Leicester for an undisclosed fee. He has struggled with injuries at the Foxes but should create chances for his strikers.
Manwell Pablo Posted 31 January 2007 Posted 31 January 2007 piss off show pony Sorry what was that, swear that didn't say that a minute ago
Milky Posted 31 January 2007 Posted 31 January 2007 Sorry what was that, swear that didn't say that a minute ago i said watford sold spring a couple of weeks ago. which is true.
Manwell Pablo Posted 31 January 2007 Posted 31 January 2007 i said watford sold spring a couple of weeks ago. which is true. Whats that go to do with the deal? we could of swaped Williams for Spring any time though take over or no take over? so I don't see what the two weeks MM thing had to do with his post.
