Milky Posted 30 March 2007 Posted 30 March 2007 http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/6509141.stm I prefer the BBC coverage to ITV, what with all the adverts and robbie earl etc... It's a sad day for me.
Wils Posted 30 March 2007 Posted 30 March 2007 I like the BBC. Itv is minging when it comes to football coverage. Bye Bye Gary.
Flexx Posted 30 March 2007 Posted 30 March 2007 Not only that, but SkySports has also lost coverage to Setanta Sports. And it's not just FA Cup games it's England internationals aswell
lcfc_jme Posted 30 March 2007 Posted 30 March 2007 This really is bad for football. I much prefer the BBCs coverage to ITVs. I can imagine this would have something to do with Sky though - don't they have a stake in ITV??
Dr The Singh Posted 30 March 2007 Posted 30 March 2007 No footie on the BBC (except highlights), a sad day for british football fans and british broadcasting!!
Leonisco Posted 30 March 2007 Posted 30 March 2007 Fooking terrible news. Now we'll have to listen to that twat David Pleat more often. Not forgetting the adverts every 5 minutes.

Milky Posted 30 March 2007 Author Posted 30 March 2007 Isn't Setanta sports Pay Per View? This isn't going to do anything for the popularity of the FA Cup.
Flexx Posted 30 March 2007 Posted 30 March 2007 Isn't Setanta sports Pay Per View? This isn't going to do anything for the popularity of the FA Cup. Yeah it's an Irish pay per view channel. Why did the FA accept the bid, i would have accepted BBC and Skysports bid even if it was a bit less cash.
Daggers Posted 30 March 2007 Posted 30 March 2007 Wahoo! The corporation that proved its football credentials with Bob Wilson, anchorman, makes a return to the world of football. Watch out tele because quality entertainment is coming your way. </sarcasm>
Flexx Posted 30 March 2007 Posted 30 March 2007 Great, more Pleat. And less Lee Dixon and Mark Bright who annoys me when he commentates. His voice is so annoying
Daggers Posted 30 March 2007 Posted 30 March 2007 Upside...there'll be no: "...and now over to Garth who is down at the pitchside..."
davieG Posted 30 March 2007 Posted 30 March 2007 What pisses me off is they do this under the guise that it's in the interest of the fans (tv ones). Well at the moment if you subscribe to Sky you get to see all the televised cup games either for free(BBC) or as part of you Sky subscription. Now if you want to see the cup games on Setanta you will have to pay extra. And how much of this £425mill will be used for the benefit of fans and grass roots football appropriately FA.
Manwell Pablo Posted 30 March 2007 Posted 30 March 2007 And less Lee Dixon and Mark Bright who annoys me when he commentates. His voice is so annoying but Pleat. ****ing Pleat, worst commentator on the planet bar Greham La Socks. and he nearly ruined Leicester on top of that!
Matt Posted 30 March 2007 Posted 30 March 2007 No more Leicester on tv in F.A Cup games then ITV Football...Infact sport coverage is shite!
Guest Gist Posted 30 March 2007 Posted 30 March 2007 I like the BBC. Itv is minging when it comes to football coverage. Bye Bye Gary. I agree, It's a sad day
Jordan Posted 30 March 2007 Posted 30 March 2007 This is probably gonna f**k up TV coverage of the FA Cup here in the U.S.
