Guys,

I was walking in the town centre and I walked past Gamestation store and the PS3 including X-Men 3 reduced to £399.99.

Looks like the PS3 has stank in the market place, what a boo-boo by Sony!!

Not as bad as Nintendo - at least Sony have product on the shelves...

...where are the Wii's?

Ahh...still on order?!

A company running its business this badly deserves to go under.

I still think Nintendo are doing that as a means of making their product more exclusive. if they really wanted to satisfy demand I bet they could. Its a known marketing gimmick.

Good on em I say.

lol

Yea - over the first week...but not for the first four months to market while the two competitors have flooded stores with their merchandise. You would expect the stores to be stocked at the end of January, but we are hitting the end of April and still it dribbles into store rooms - they loused up the launch because they didn't plan for demand or strategise for production problems...they've hit both and are desperately fire-fighting. In the meantime, potential customers are taking their money elsewhere. Just like the PS3 has been burned by delaying to market so too will Nintendo if they don't sort it out very quickly.

Nintendo are selling 1 million Wii's a month... they can't make any more, even they didn't think it'd be this popular!!!

Yup, Blockbuster own gamestation, so they've got 'em at the same price. The Irish bloke that runs Xtravision runs the UK marketing dept and he wants to start selling consoles, phones, mp3 players and fook knows what else at stupidly cut retail prices. Globally, the PS3 won't drop much more though - 'cos of the cost of the parts Sony reckon they'll be charging retailers the same for months if not years as they're already running at a loss. So any come down in price will be up to shops voluntarily cutting their profits just to sell them.

Seriously guys hold out, more reductions are certain to follow. I work quite closley with Sony and they are shocked by the apathy in sales, they really didn't read the market at all.

The money is made on games, controllers, dance matts and all other accesories.

No console in homes = poor sales of the above mentioned!! :(

The GameCube did poorly in most markets putside Japan, so it may well be they simply haven't got the capacity to produce more than a million Wiis a month.

Absolutely, there pricing is way off for value at the moment and they will lose face big time if they don't drop the price and shift some consoles quick. They also upset a hell of alot of gamers by delaying the european launch as if we're not as important as Japan or USA. This they may never make back.

Yeah watch their sales rocket now!!!

Yeah but if you take into account the price they are selling each for, Sony have made more money already lol (Not counitng costs for producing each console)

Based on Phube's sig, its as follows:

Xbox360 - £3,786,329,520

Wii - £1,331,259,400

PS3 - £1,752,811,200

And i priced the Wii at £200, 360 at £360, and the PS3 at £600.

Yeah, thats not to bad seeing as it's been out a lot longer and MS isn't very popular in Japan.

Since when has anyone cared about the Japense sales charts anyway, you really are a geek!
