potter3 Posted 21 May 2007 Posted 21 May 2007 He's not that bad. I wouldn't get rid of him for anything less than £250K and that's half what we payed for him.
Stevosevic Posted 21 May 2007 Posted 21 May 2007 I thought we paid 100k for him? Yep, just checked, 100k upfront, could rise to 200k depending on appearances. http://www.lcfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/Match...74~8971,00.html where did 500k come from?

Do you really think we would get a fee for him. The bloke is crap. Well there is no accounting for taste!!!!
BartonFox Posted 21 May 2007 Posted 21 May 2007 Shame he was never given the chance under Kelly to shine, a very good footballer and much better than the some of the shower of shite people purred over in here this season. This may well go through although I believe Aberdeen will be a more likely destination.
Ultra Posted 21 May 2007 Posted 21 May 2007 Shame he was never given the chance under Kelly to shine, a very good footballer and much better than the some of the shower of shite people purred over in here this season. Really? Then how come in two and a half years the number of decent games he's had for us can be counted on two hands, maybe even one? This may well go through although I believe Aberdeen will be a more likely destination. The further away the better. Hopefully in a year's time we'll forget he ever wore a City shirt. If Gradel and King are coming through we won't even need him as a squad player.
Anish Posted 21 May 2007 Posted 21 May 2007 Get rid. He'll never be good enough for a top Championship side, simply because he lacks strength, power, pace or any defensive qualities. Another duff Levein signing, if truth be told.
Joe. Posted 23 May 2007 Posted 23 May 2007 Hearts confirm interest- Hearts assistant head coach Stephen Frail has confirmed the club have made enquiries for midfield players Gavin Rae and Stephen Hughes. Reports this week have linked the Tynecastle club with the pair and Frail confirmed they are both targets. Rae is out of favour at Rangers, while Hughes, once of Ibrox, may be available if he can agree a release from Leicester. Frail told Hearts World: "It is fair to say they are two we have made enquiries for. "We know they are available and we know their contract situation. "We think both players will enhance the squad with them being good players and Scottish and they have played in the SPL. "They know what it's all about to come to Hearts. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sounds like good news and that Hughes really could be on his way
Mort Posted 23 May 2007 Posted 23 May 2007 So the suggestion is that Hughes could be off to Hearts, and Porter is heading out on loan... sounds good, but this must mean we are basically rebuilding our midfield, I mean as things stand Weso is going to be our longest serving player at the start of the season with Gradel and King the only other midfielders avalible before we take into acount what players we bring in.
Thracian Posted 23 May 2007 Posted 23 May 2007 Will Barton ever be the same? The reasons we won't miss him have been adequately covered and I've rarely known a player with so many limitations get so many opportunities. It wasn't as if they thought him a great success at Rangers either from what I read. I've often felt his contract picked him rather than his ability. His departure should present a great opportunity to increase our goals ratio.

It's not as if he was consistenly putting in good performances each week and by no means was he a "very good footballer" as Barton put it. The writing looks on the wall to me and I think he'll be on his way in no time.
Master Fox Posted 23 May 2007 Posted 23 May 2007 Bye Bye Hughes.. He won't last 5 minutes with Martin Allen in charge.

Gradel and King are gonna be nowhere near the first team next season! Just because we have given 8 youth team graduates first year pro contracts don't be expecting them to form the back bone of our first team!
Lets Be having You Posted 23 May 2007 Posted 23 May 2007 Bye Bye Hughes..He won't last 5 minutes with Martin Allen in charge. how do you know that,do you remember a certain john robertson of the TREES MANY YEARS AGO when clough got there he was on the list.and what did clough do,made him into one of the best wings of his day,so you never know, never say never. but we all have to wait and see what mad dog wants all this talkabout players in/out is all guess work, lets just wait and see
Thracian Posted 23 May 2007 Posted 23 May 2007 Gradel and King are gonna be nowhere near the first team next season! Just because we have given 8 youth team graduates first year pro contracts don't be expecting them to form the back bone of our first team! I agree and would expect them to perhaps play for the newly-installed Reserves for a while and then to go out on loan to see how they cope at a lower League set up. We were so poor that either could well have made an appearance at the end of last season but competition for places will be much keener now. I might back Kingy as better than Jarrett or Hughes, because he has more effect in more places, but I don't think he's likely to keep Hendrie out of a team should he, or someone of the same calibre, arrive. Everyone in last season's team will find it tough and that goes for the more established youngsters never mind those trying to break through. What will make it harder is that the new manager will want to play his new signings and no mattr who does well in pre-season it won't be enough if one of the new boyus finds himself under threat. It was the same last season and will be no different this. But if I were any player at Leicester right now I would resolve to start pre-season fit and ready from the off. Cos otherwise it will be easy to get forgotten.

SystonFox Posted 24 May 2007 Posted 24 May 2007 and last night i scored with keeley hazzell. dirty bitch.
lookwhaticando Posted 25 May 2007 Posted 25 May 2007 Hearts have also made inquiries about former Rangers midfielders Gavin Rae and Stephen Hughes with the former available on a free transfer and the latter hoping to strike a severance deal with Leicester City. icScotland Interesting.
Webbo Posted 25 May 2007 Posted 25 May 2007 I don't see why we should give him away, he'd do as a squad player. Must be worth £200/300 k at least.
