Tubes Posted 4 June 2007 Posted 4 June 2007 id be happy to sign best from what ive seen of him from about 4 games although his finishing seemed a bit like hammonds
Moreton Posted 4 June 2007 Posted 4 June 2007 Leon Best has rejected a new contract keeping him at southampton, Leicester city are top of the list for wanting Best but could see competion from stoke, coventy and rivals nottigham forest....the 20 year old striker who helped southampton to the playoffs looks to have good future ahead of him...so what does everythone think? good or bad signing
lookwhaticando Posted 4 June 2007 Author Posted 4 June 2007 Link??? A few posts up, Ricey... the link was already in the Leon Best topic... Clicky clicky.
Tevez Posted 4 June 2007 Posted 4 June 2007 Is Leon Best the one that does the 'fishing' celebration?
Blue Bob Posted 4 June 2007 Posted 4 June 2007 10 in 15 for Yeovil as well.15 goals in all last season, from 26 apperances. It's like the Leon Constantine thing, if he's going free and not demanding a massive wage whats the problem? Afterall we're losing the Gansta which means we only have Hume Fryatt and Dodds left. EDIT: And Deep Freeze I suppose as he has mircaulously not been put up for sale EDIT EDIT: Unless he was sold whilst I was away I agree we should give it a go, 15 goals from 26 is not a bad return and that is at this level. Guess there will be a bit of a fee as he is only 20. Mad dog go fetch!!!
The People's Hero Posted 4 June 2007 Posted 4 June 2007 Preferable to Elvis/Horsfield/Blake plenty of other absolute dog sh it we've seen recently. He's young, effective and has a bit of impact. The kind of player Thracian claims to like. Until we sign him and he becomes one of the 'chosen' men who is denying someone younger (probably by about 3 weeks) a game (and therefore a career).

Or are you just trying to snatch 'Foxestalk Broken-Record 2007' from his grasp?
The People's Hero Posted 4 June 2007 Posted 4 June 2007 Any need? Or are you just trying to snatch 'Foxestalk Broken-Record 2007' from his grasp? The only need really is that it amuses me. More an indulgence than a necessity, I admit. But then, if you strip away the bullsh it, arguing and sniping from this place there would be precisely fu ck all left!
Brainy Posted 4 June 2007 Posted 4 June 2007 If he signs, I hope he has improved since Soton played Derby at Pride Park
MaRkLcFc Posted 4 June 2007 Posted 4 June 2007 quality finish against derby lmao surely cresswel sabonoski mcloed are better standard
Mort Posted 4 June 2007 Posted 4 June 2007 quality finish against derby lmao surely cresswel sabonoski mcloed are better standard Why? He scored 4 times in 40 starts last time he was in the championship... wouldnt want Best, but his record at this level is more impressive than McLeod's, Cresswell is simply dross (and he's proven that to us before), but Saganowski would be an excellent signing, proven in the championship and not an old timer and not boasting some stupid price tag(!).
HankMarvin Posted 4 June 2007 Posted 4 June 2007 Skysports.com understands Leon Best has knocked back Southampton's offer of a new deal. Best's present deal expires in the summer and he has rejected Southampton's offer to extend his stay at St Mary's. The 20-year-old, who helped Southampton reach the play-offs, now looks set to leave the Championship outfit. The news has alerted several clubs to Best's availability with the striker impressing for Southampton this season. Leicester are believed to be leading the chase for Best, but could face competition from the likes of Coventry, Stoke and Nottingham Forest for the player's signature.
Blue Bob Posted 4 June 2007 Posted 4 June 2007 So how much will he cost, there is going to be a fee as he is only 20. £200,000 ????
Manwell Pablo Posted 5 June 2007 Posted 5 June 2007 So how much will he cost, there is going to be a fee as he is only 20. £200,000 ???? Depends if Soton offered him a reduced wage deal or not doesn't it.
Ric Flair Posted 5 June 2007 Posted 5 June 2007 Someone on another forum seems to think he's agreed to join us.
majestic fox Posted 5 June 2007 Posted 5 June 2007 Someone on another forum seems to think he's agreed to join us. You got a link?
davieG Posted 5 June 2007 Posted 5 June 2007 You got a link? From the Merc, doesn't say he's signed just that we're favourites. City are trying to sign Geraldo, from Portuguese side Pacos de Ferreira, and Lewis Gobern, from Wolves, according to the website talkingballs.co.uk. And www.football-rumours.co.uk claims City are inerested in Wolves' Carl Cort, and Port Vale's Leon Constantine. City have also been linked with Charlton's Radostin Kishishev, Marek Saganowski, from French club Troyes, MK Dons' Izale McLeod, Gillingham's Matthew Jarvis, Aston Villa's Lee Hendrie, Portsmouth's Svetoslav Todorov, Leeds' Richard Cresswell, and ex-Wigan defender Arjan de Zeeuw. According to the Independent, City are favourites to sign Leon Best, who is set to leave Southampton after rejecting their latest new contract offer. Danny Cadamarteri has joined League One side Huddersfield on a two-year deal. Cadamarteri was out of contract after being released by City at the end of the season. He made 11 appearances, all from the bench, and scored once, the late equaliser against Fulham in the FA Cup third-round game at the Walkers Stadium.

mancunianfox Posted 5 June 2007 Posted 5 June 2007 Unbelievable! Do the Mockery not realize what a joke that website is? New in from football rumours: Norwich are tracking Elvis Hammond of Leicester as a replacement for Sunderland and Birmingham target Robert Earnshaw.
The People's Hero Posted 5 June 2007 Posted 5 June 2007 New in from football rumours: Norwich are tracking Elvis Hammond of Leicester as a replacement for Sunderland and Birmingham target Robert Earnshaw. How are they tracking him? Does he have unique footprints? Does he leave an odour wherever he passes through? Can his movements be heard from 2 miles away?
The People's Hero Posted 5 June 2007 Posted 5 June 2007 All they need to do is look for a linesman with his flag up and he won't be far away. Panting like an excited dog. Come on Narch. Money talks!
