Fez of Mahrez Posted 7 June 2007 Posted 7 June 2007 This is 10% of the problem solved, if that. We still need to a) find a club that will pay something even approaching their extortionate wages and b) for them to decide they would like to play some football.

If no-one comes in for them, they will get released. Who the feck would want them though. De Vries got relegated last year in a team that won about 1 game all season and scored about 10 goals - he couldn't even get in the first team there...

Sods Posted 7 June 2007 Posted 7 June 2007 Maybury is a decent player if he gets the coaching tbf The best thing maybury has is his attitude and his commitment but the problem is he isnt good enough. Which means quite a bit in this league as theirs probably 20 odd mayburys in the league, and 4 quality right backs who are really pushing for promotion.
Manwell Pablo Posted 7 June 2007 Posted 7 June 2007 We need to sign some midfielders even more though! Our current midfield is Porter Wesolowski Hughes Mattock! Well sort of, Gradel and King have signed proffesional contracts and I believe they're to old to play for the academy now.

Manwell Pablo Posted 7 June 2007 Posted 7 June 2007 Two words, Craig Levein Dundee UTD are broke and can't pay out anything nearing 8k a week, plus they've just signed some Polish keeper whos suppose to be some kind of wizard so they wont want Douglas.
Maybes Posted 7 June 2007 Posted 7 June 2007 I love the ruthlessness and the shrewdness of his reports.
Milan Posted 7 June 2007 Posted 7 June 2007 Milan and Martin are not following the mutual consent road that we have gone down so many times (pay them off). Thats what their waiting for. They'll just have to come in every day to sign on so to speak. Anyhow we ain't gonna be paying part of their wages if they move.
JoeyB Posted 7 June 2007 Posted 7 June 2007 I love the ruthlessness and the shrewdness of his reports. Straight to the point! No p**sing around

You've got that completely the wrong way round. He definitely has the ability. His application, commitment, motivation and concentration have gone AWOL since LCFC fu cked up his move to Sunderland.
Lillehamring Posted 7 June 2007 Posted 7 June 2007 Wow. Martin doesn't mess aroun does he.. Good on him So now this means we have, 5 transfer listed, sold 1, released 5, terminated 4? loans.. So thats potentially 15 squad players gone. We have brought in 3 players, and I thought we had a smallish squad beforehand. Looks as though we could be bringing in at least 10 players . if you're talking about squad volume, you have to equate in the youth players now on full terms - so perhaps 10 is, hmm, pushing it - but nothing would surprise me with m'n'm!

Tubes Posted 7 June 2007 Posted 7 June 2007 martin is really doing the right sort of things up to yet and proving a hit with the fans it all just depends on whos coming the other way
Simi Posted 7 June 2007 Posted 7 June 2007 Good stuff. But that bring the totals to: OUT 11 IN 2 Steady, the exit hasn't closed on them yet ! Martin Allen
Babylon Posted 7 June 2007 Posted 7 June 2007 If no-one comes in for them, they will get released. But you would still have to pay up their wages, so there would be not much point unless you can negotiate with them to pay up say 50% of their contract (4k a week).
Daggers Posted 7 June 2007 Posted 7 June 2007 Good morning, <stuff>. Martin I remember the good old days, the days when we just got together - in those days he used to say to me 'take care'. Not anymore, it's like he is always thinking about other things and not me.
theboywillmott Posted 7 June 2007 Posted 7 June 2007 Someone needs to ring Craig and tell him they're available - He will always buy rubbish
MBK Posted 7 June 2007 Posted 7 June 2007 Brilliant so long since we've had some doing his job at the top.
theboywillmott Posted 7 June 2007 Posted 7 June 2007 According to 'The Sun' Dundee United are preparing a bid for Leicester Defender Alan Maybury! Come on - You know you want him!
Tevez Posted 7 June 2007 Posted 7 June 2007 I'm Gutted, they are my two best players. But i suppose they have been dead wood for the past season.
The Reverend Posted 7 June 2007 Posted 7 June 2007 I'm Gutted, they are my two best players. But i suppose they have been dead wood for the past season. I hope thats a joke But i dont understand everybody wanting to get rid Kenton - hes always done a decent job whenever hes came in. Keep him as bck up. But fair play Martin Allen, doing a fine job removing the crap.
Stevosevic Posted 7 June 2007 Posted 7 June 2007 Terrible Reporting - http://www.teamtalk.com/football/story/0,1...2173529,00.html Allen releases Foxes fringe duo Striker Mark de Vries and goalkeeper Rab Douglas have both been released by Leicester boss Martin Allen. De Vries, 31, has spent the entire season on loan at Dutch side ADO Den Haag, mostly being used in a substitute role. The strong target man played his last game for the Foxes in their 1-0 FA Cup fourth round defeat to Southampton in January 2006. Douglas, who signed from Celtic in 2005, established himself as City's first-choice keeper during his debut season at the Walkers Stadium, however, the emergence of Paul Henderson last term restricted his appearances in the starting XI. "I have informed both of them that they have been made available for transfer with immediate effect and that it would be in their best interests to get themselves another club," Allen told Leicester's official website.
