lookwhaticando Posted 2 July 2007 Posted 2 July 2007 Yes, it's covered in the Allen update for today (July 2nd) but it deserves a topic of its own. I am chuffed to bits today that James Wesolowski has signed a contract extension. He has energy, he has enthusiasm, and I am really looking forward to working with him and helping him to get in to the full Australian squad. Allen Update @ the OS. One hopes we'll be informed in greater detail in the near future - how long his contract extension is for, for a start. Interesting that he's been offered an extension, when Allen hasn't even seen him train yet, and he didn't play a huge part last season.
The People's Hero Posted 2 July 2007 Posted 2 July 2007 All he's got to do know is grow some actual bones and we'll be alright. All the best Weso. You big girl.
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 2 July 2007 Posted 2 July 2007 Great news!! didnt Kelly have him sign a new contract in the months before his dismissal???
Chairman of the Bored Posted 2 July 2007 Posted 2 July 2007 He could do with being stretched a bit as well. What with Cort and Bobba up front, Macauly and Kisnorbo at the back, he'll look mighty small by comparison in that all important group huddle before kick off.
lookwhaticando Posted 2 July 2007 Author Posted 2 July 2007 Great news!! didnt Kelly have him sign a new contract in the months before his dismissal??? Nope. He signed a contract in the early stages of Kelly's reign, I think. Signed a two year deal that took him to June 2008.
Babylon Posted 2 July 2007 Posted 2 July 2007 All he's got to do know is grow some actual bones and we'll be alright.l.
Thracian Posted 2 July 2007 Posted 2 July 2007 So does that mean people will still be able to watch the Under 18 matches and does it mean they'll still be able to watch training sessions other than 48 hours before a match? Otherwise it was a worthwhile read and far better than the managerial diatribe we were used to in the past. And obviously great news about Wesolowski. I thought he did really well at the end of the season. Hopefully his injury nightmare is past and he can continue moving onwards and upwards in City colours. Definitely +1 for the training ground revamp and the focusing of attention on the job. Total +10.
Daggers Posted 2 July 2007 Posted 2 July 2007 Definitely +1 for the training ground revamp and the focusing of attention on the job. Total +10. This is really starting to piss me off now. He should have got at least a +2 for using the work "Crikey"
Vo Rogue Posted 2 July 2007 Posted 2 July 2007 Weso did get an extension this time last year, and have heard its a new 4 year deal offered.Lets hope he stays injury free.
Geo V Posted 2 July 2007 Posted 2 July 2007 With all these older players turning up its essential we keep a hardcore of younger talented players along who can actually learn a bit from the older lads. Weso was teaching AJ plenty at times last season but lets hope this time around Kisha passes on his undoubted experience.

Geo V Posted 2 July 2007 Posted 2 July 2007 older playeres? we have signed 2 players over 30 I said OLDER players and not veterans. Kish is 32, N`Gotty 35, Cort 29, Nielsen 29. These lads can all pass on plenty of experience as most have played International football.
Jimmy Posted 2 July 2007 Posted 2 July 2007 yes but your comments made out like were were signing OAP's and booting out anyone under 25
Scow Posted 2 July 2007 Posted 2 July 2007 This is really starting to piss me off now.He should have got at least a +2 for using the work "Crikey" An additional +0.5 for a quirky analogy. Good news about Weso though - just hope his injuries haven't taken too much out of him. Likely to be a back up player anyhow.

Simi Posted 2 July 2007 Posted 2 July 2007 Good news. Really unlucky with his injuries, but hopefully he is past that now and can hold down a place in the team next year.

Geo V Posted 2 July 2007 Posted 2 July 2007 yes but your comments made out like were were signing OAP's and booting out anyone under 25 You can read into it all you want mate but its clear to me, who actually wrote the flamin comment, that I was saying it in a "good" way that our younger lads can learn plenty off the older players who have signed. I cant see how you would see a negative slant to it to be fair but maybe thats just you looking to find something to moan about?
SilverFox Posted 2 July 2007 Posted 2 July 2007 at least a -2 for all of your ass kissing Judge him after half a season FFS. Any bugger can request a few flowers are planted and some facilities are moved around.
Ric Flair Posted 3 July 2007 Posted 3 July 2007 Great news. I think a few of us have forgotten just how excited we were with the emergence of Wesolowski. He ended last season showing the true ability he has and if he's over his injuries he'll only get better. Incidently, his run of games at the end of last season were the most games he's ever continously played in the first team. Could that be because of Worthington's change to the fitness regime after remarks that our team was so unfit? I think Kelly was a big reason as to why Weso kept picking up niggling injuries, the fitness regime was shit. Allen won't make the same mistake, i'm sure Weso will be fit as a fiddle as will the other players. Could be a massive season for Wesolowski, if he fulfills his potential then we have one of the best young midfielders in the league by a country mile. No news on Mattock signing a contract yet though?
Toby or not Toby Posted 3 July 2007 Posted 3 July 2007 great news i remember feeling so sorry for him after the celtic game because i thought he was quality!
