Can 17-year-olds be classed as women? Aren't they still girls? You don't see stories about "17-year-old men" on the news.

I think, technically that 16 - 25 year old are classified as young adults, therefore women rather than girls is an entirely appropriate phrase.

I found this rather old thread about Pontus Kåmark, former City player. It was asked what he does today and maybe how he looks like. Being a Swede myself - he among things work as a expert commentator, like Lineker, on Swedish channel TV4. You can see a clip here (let the commercial run first and then it starts. You see Pontus to the left hand side in the studio. In this segment they talk about Italian football. He is a very nice guy on TV. If you talked swedish you would enjoy it.

Go city!

There's also an Exklusiv Svennis-intervju: "Målet är Premier League". Is that Pontus on there? I think it said something about Sven, Leicester, Walkers Stadium and Premier League.

We are a global club. Fact.

Please could someone roughly translate what is actually said here?

ok Roughly.

Sven is saying he knows this is not Premier Leauge but the ambition is to go there and he loves to work in england because

it's the homecountry of football.

They ask Pontus if Leiccester is the right club for Sven and Pontus replies

- I think so, I know that many thinks it looks silly because it's not chelsea or Man u but it is still a big job and there is a chance that they can succeed because there are money in this club now.

Sven:

-The club has big big ambitions. The owner wants to invest and wants to see the team in Premier League.

Reporter: How high are you ranked by the supporters and the coasches in england, are you top 3 ?

Sven: I don't know

Reporter: Do you still have some status

Sven: If yout talk to people then I think so. I hope so at least but I cdan't do anything about it it's only to start winning footballmatches again.

I didn't have much time so sorry for misspellings and bad english.

WE had a Swedish exchange at our Church at Easter and I had 3 swedish 17 year old women staying at my house. They said Pontus is presenting the Swedish version of Match of the day. A kind of Scandinavian Gary Lineker.

Nice. Slipped this in quietly, but it deserves its own thread. In fact, it sounds like the implausible plot of a top-shelf movie...

i don't think he's quite in the lineker mold yet, more of a mark lawrenson :(

Sadly never had a chance of seeing Pontus play for Leicester (maybe during the 1994 World Cup as a kid), but from what I read on here and heard from other Leicester fans, he seemed to be one of the few "real" Pros of his days.

No signs of attitude, always friendly, a very solid defender and blessed with a memory of an Elephant. thumbsup.gif

Btw, apart from working for TV4, he also does his own football scores predictions on YouTube:

I translatwed the whole thing for you. No roughly here, the whole thing. Enjoy.

Reporter (probably ask him what brought him back to coaching in england)

Sven:

Its the football. Football and England. Its the home country of football,

I know its not the premier League, but hopefully its going to be just that (PL)

The athmosphere on the level we are at is enrmous.

Reporter:

Is Leicester the right club for Svennis?

Pontus:

Yes I believe so.

I can understand that some people might think and say "nah.." and its not Chelsea or Man United, BUT football in england is so much bigger in england, and this job (managing LC) is big enough as it is. And there is a chance to succeed with this club and now there is a lot of money in this club right now, so why not. (you here on the voice and emphasize "in swedish" when Pontus talk that he likes the club).

Reporter:

Tomorrow (read today) its time for Sven Gölran Eriksson to sit on this bench/chair to coach his new club, Leicester City against Hull at Walkers Stadium. Over 100 accredited journalist to follow Svennis first game with his new club. And one thing is for sure - its the Premier League that counts for Sven Göran Eriksson and Leicester City.

Sven:

The club have big big ambitions. New owner who likes to invest and compete in the Premier league.

Reporter:

How high ranked are you do you think among the players and the fans in england. Are you among the top three?

Sven:

I dont know anything about that, It is what it is. If you talk with people in general I think so, I hope so anyway (smiles) , but its not much you can do about that. Only thing you can do is to try to win games football games.

Reporter:

Its only results that counts?

Sven:

Yes it is, absolutly.

Sven waves and says "By then" and everyone and says "by then" back to Sven.

What a player Pontus was.

Think he made his debut on a sunday at West Brom and he was going at them like crazy, they couldn't deal with him, think he laid a goal on for Scotty Taylor that day.

Who could forget the 2 hour stalking of Juninho at Wembley!

My Missus met him once and said he was a charming bloke, fluent and articulate in English, rated him as the sexiest footballer she'd ever set eyes on.

Hi,

Yes thats Pontus Kåmark on the left hand side.

The guy says they have just covered the Premier League and go over to Serie A. Its a big segment when they go through all mayor leagues in Europe. That is Enland, Italy, Spain and Germany and sometimes I believe france and Holland.

Many people in Sweden knows or have heard about Leicester city.

Thing is that Sweden have ever since the 70´s broadcaste LIVE english football every weekend. In this Swedish television was the first. Originally the program was called "Tips Extra".

I remeber my english friend who lives over here in stockholm since 12 years back, him calling back to his mates back in england telling he wasnt missing anything :-)

Sven Göran Eriksson and other swedish "older" coaches have always been inspired by english football. And Roy Hodgsson and Bob Houghton made an impressive effect on Swedish football for a long time. Now its new times and the new coaches bring in a lot of influences of course from other countries. And weather one like or dislike Zlatan Ibrahimovic or not, (who I like and 95% of the Swedish people) have now had a hugh impact on all the new swedish football players you will see in the national team, such as Marcus Berg, Ola Toivonen (PSV Holland) and many others. As well as of course Henrik Larsson. Ibrahimovic and Larsson attitude as well as skills have made a hugh impact. As have of course Sven Göran Erikssson. Who is highly respected in Sweden.

In Sweden we know english football. Thats why we useally do very well against england. Remember: ever since the 70´s we have been able to watch english quality football LIVE

My pleasure to share.

One cant blame SGE for not giving media covereage to Leicester City. Its been all over the sports media and the game against Hull is being broadcasted in Sweden :-) channel TV4 SPORT. And right after that game its another game: Zlatan Ibrahimovic in AC Milan against Chievo in Serie A, Italy. Nice football weekend.

Here is a swedish band. Enjoy the game
