dandannieldanok Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 I doubt it will be Holloway Ian Holloway on Martin Allen Sacking... - BBC - IanHolloway column MARTIN ALLEN SACKING We've got Leicester on Saturday and they've sacked their manager, which was a bit of a strange state of affairs - especially after they'd just beaten Watford 4-1. That'll teach him! The honeymoon's over Let's hope everything is worked out financially. As far as I'm concerned there should be a rule that no football manager should ever be replaced without his own contract being sorted out first. Maybe that would sort out these chairman who chuck you on gardening leave, which is totally unjust and unfair. Our contracts aren't worth the paper they're written on but they would be if that rule was brought in... Fool
Joe. Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 The short odds on Gary Megson are worrying. If he gets anywhere near this club, I'd be extremely pissed off.
Lillehamring Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 Moving the goal posts doesn't change a manager's ability to manage. Even if it did, if MM had selected the correct manager in the first place he would have had someone on board capable of dealing with that because every business has to move the goal posts to keep up with the change in the business environment.Besides this is not based just on his appointment of Allen but on his many previous recruitment attempts of which I'm aware of only one being successful and even that one he did his best to mess up. I think my point stands. have you researched his previous clubs, maybe just the case that he was settling into english football, maybe he's always been crap... i think someone said he had been different earlier on?????
Dames Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 The short odds on Gary Megson are worrying. If he gets anywhere near this club, I'd be extremely pissed off. I'd continually pelt his house and car with various sorts of feaces until he resigned. Drastic times call for Drastic measures

DJ Barry Hammond Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 It will be interesting if we make a signing tonight - because if we do, that may give us a hint on who the new man is? Who could we sign from Wigan?
Raj Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 Im still waiting for Martin Jol to get the sack tonight!!!
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 Im still waiting for Martin Jol to get the sack tonight!!! I've got it! Jol gets sacked, we sign Murphy, Jol signs to manage us!
Thracian Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 It will be interesting if we make a signing tonight - because if we do, that may give us a hint on who the new man is? Who could we sign from Wigan? I've got an idea for a centre-half! :D
Father Ted Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 I've got an idea for a centre-half! :D Although he did begin his career at centre-half did Heskey But just don't
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 I've got an idea for a centre-half! :D Thats as crap as my ideal!
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 Do you reckon Gary Lineker would swap his sweet job with the BBC for our vacant position - legend!
steflcfc Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 not really sure weather he would leave england u21s but i wouldnt mind stuart pearce as our next manager
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 Whats Muzzi doing now? Does he have his coaching badges - Milan needs a crowd winner, and Muzzi's so inexperienced he'd surely be happy to let Milan do most of the transfers and team selection. Or how about a Matty Elliott and Gerry Taggart joint management team! You'd play for them in fear of getting your bollocks chopped off!
remefoxblu Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 what is happening @ lcfc is mm just in it to make a quick profit. he bought the club dirt cheap
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 I'm preparing for an unknown French guy. Your sock collections given me another idea - sign the Accrington Stanley goalie Arthur to be Goalkeeper/Manager!
ing Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 Any idea where Jimmy Calderwood, Aberdeen manager rumour came from? http://www.virginmedia.com/sport/football/...toryid=12513816
Thracian Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 what is happening @ lcfc is mm just in it to make a quick profit. he bought the club dirt cheap I don't know how quick is quick but I think so and I can see exactly how. I saw it long ago. There is so much emerging value here. I'm just amazed that some of the old guard didn't seem to recognise it or appreciate how much. And MM is just the sort who will realise its financial potential. Look at the lads out on loan now... Gradel, Dodds, Logan and Odhiambo. They are all decent players. Sure, perhaps they won't all make it. But they're not being risked in the first team. They're all off to finishing school where they'll get noticed, increase in value and return ready to either be fattened up for sale or to graduate as prime footballing bloodstock. Already Stearman, Wesolowski, Sheehan, Mattock and Porter are in the first team public market. At least one, possibly up to three of those should fetch a decent fee if they are utilised properly. Steearman at centre-back etc. When the next lot have gone there's Andy King, Ashley Chambers, Billy McKay, Billy Kee, Ryan Beswick, Riccy Sappleton and perhaps even Joe Magunda or Lathanial Rowe-Turner. Surely another two or three decent returns. After being loaned out if they come back to be used sparingly in a winning team their value should rise steadily. And what did MM pay for the club. The sort of fee he might land for one of those players - and I know which - given a bit of luck. And I think at least 12 of our young players will fetch a fee and three or four quite a good one. Being Academy champions is a great advert. And already out on loan there's every indication that our graduates can hack it just as several have already shown in the first team. And say, just say, we get to the Premiership. What price some of them then? The incentive is there for everyone. But Milan must think he's found football's equaivalent of the Holy Grail.

Biggest load of rubbish I've ever read. MM bought the club because of its youth team
Flynny Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 You've set yourself up here Thracian, you daft old sod.
Joe. Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 No offence Thracian, but the players you mentioned aren't particularly spectular, and aren't going to be fetching good money yet. Not even within the year I'd say. They're definitely good prospects, there's no doubt about that, but if they were that good they wouldn't be here now. Milan won't be making a quick buck off this lot yet. I don't think he'll make money on this team until we make the Premiership which for me, is still some way off.
Simi Posted 1 September 2007 Posted 1 September 2007 Aberdeen director of football Willie Miller has urged Dons boss Jimmy Calderwood to snub the chance to take over as Leicester manager. (Record)
