Manwell Pablo Posted 4 September 2007 Posted 4 September 2007 In what way were Bradford City shocking? Bit before my time. I know he got them up and kept them up, though. Wigan weren't an amazing squad when he got them up, and he kept them up twice. Second season syndrome is always going to be a problem for clubs. Reading'll probably finish 15th or something this year. They were just a horrible horrible footballing side and to this day I have no idea how they survived. Probabley something to do with the utter shitness Wimbledon Wednesday etc. And as I said he then went to lead Sheffield Wednesdays promotion charge and managed to place them in a relgation dog fight. And IMO he had a very good team at Wigan.
Thracian Posted 4 September 2007 Posted 4 September 2007 Let's just give Thracian the job and be done with it. Even with two thirds of the players we've got now, plus two decent strikers and an option as left back, piece of cake. But could you just see me and Mandaric getting along? Half the time I can't get you lot on board. Can you imagine how long Mandaric's loyalty would last? Especially if a few of the players started moaning cos they didn't agree with this or that, or perhaps started crying.
Chimp Posted 4 September 2007 Posted 4 September 2007 Yes and that something nasty was calling for us to be kicked out the league, not so much as something nasty as a call for us to be terminated as a club, very nice of Mr Warnock, and all because his Sheffield United team wasn't good enough for about the 18th year in a row.And what happens when he gets relegated is it his fault, oh no, it's Alex Ferguson/Carlos Tevez/MSI/Anyone he could possible blames fault. The mans a willy puller! Not only that, but do none of you remember that he was on the panel of League 1 managers that blocked LCFC from bringing in any new players while we were under administration? Do you not remember we had several injuries and could not strengthen the squad, even on a temporary basis, because of the noises and political manouvering that Warnock was making? LCFC were going through a crisis and Warnock did plenty to make matters a lot worse for us. It's not just us he's done this with either, he's got a history of poking his nose in and meddling with things that are no concern of his. The man is abhorrent and if he becomes our new manager I will not be attending any games until such time as he leaves. EDIT: This was originally written as a reply to a different thread which mysteriously disappeared while I was writing my reponse... I guess it fits in this thread better than any.

W*****k's hatred for us goes back decades, way beyond his time as boss of the blunts. In 1985 we beat Burton Albion 6-1 in an FA Cup tie. W*****k, the Burton boss at the time, whinged about his goalkeeper allegedly being injured by a missile thrown from the stands. The tabloids took up his tale and the FA ordered a rematch to be played beyond closed doors. W*****k claims in his recent book that Burton might have won the rematch (we beat them 1-0) had there been a crowd and an atmosphere. Fast forward to 1990-91, by which time our hero has now moved on to Notts County. Despite having one of the worst sides in our history, we beat Notts home and away, results which ultimately ensured our survival and denied the magpies automatic promotion. Both wins provoked hysterical outbursts about our outrageous luck, crap refereeing, and any other excuse the bitter blunt can think of. He once said his ideal job would be to manage Sheffield Wednesday because, "I could sell their best players, get them relegated and retire quite happily". It is virtually impossible to imagine that he wouldn't approach a job at Leicester in the same way. There are plenty of other candidates far more suitable than this blundering buffoon.
The People's Hero Posted 4 September 2007 Posted 4 September 2007 I actually agree with an Ultra post. He's quite right about all the events he mentions there. He's a horrible, horrible man. If LCFC were to appoint him, that's me and LCFC over.

This belongs on Mandaric's desk with all the other evidence that says we don't want him here.
Daggers Posted 4 September 2007 Posted 4 September 2007 It is virtually impossible to imagine that he wouldn't approach a job at Leicester in the same way. Amazingly enough - it isn't.

The People's Hero Posted 4 September 2007 Posted 4 September 2007 Maidstone got a good team this year? 2 successive promotions. The team is good... it's a case of whether it's found it's level... or whether it can't quite compete at this next level or even whether they can go straight through this division. Personally I think they'll do okay - hold their own and finish somewhere in mid-table. Fingers crossed. OH WHEN THE STONES! Quick edit - Didn't realise they'd had such a bad start. Worst goal difference in the division, currently second bottom. Won 1, Lost 5. Ouch.

Gutted, first Jewell seems to have distances himself from the job but that was in the comical Mercury so maybe its not dead and buried but even worse, the real heart-breaker was Thracian saying no. I was so looking forward to the free-flowing attack minded and gay abandon that we would have witnessed as we got mullered 8-3 every week The only person who is remotely close to playing that brand of football is Ossie Ardiles and he has been sacked from here to Mexico and beyond. Get him in instead. MM has got plenty fo time to see what is out there with the International break and the closure of the transfer window. No real hurry at the moment but the pressure is on him to make the right decision. I wonder who we will end up with?!

sbenson Posted 4 September 2007 Posted 4 September 2007 Just read on skysports.com that Jimmy Calderwood of Aberdeen has dismissed himself from the job at City. I say its a good thing, dose MM not know what happened last time we got someone fron North of the border?! We need someone who has experience at getting a club promoted, not a puppet for MM to order about.

So sick and tired of this narrow minded anti Scottish football view so many Leicester fans seem to have adopted since Craig Levein was here. Where did Alex Ferguson start his managerial career. East Strlingshire, followed by St.Mirren, followed by Aberdeen.

I'd even take a Belgian - preferably TinTin. ps no offence to Belgians. Are there any Belgians here? Why not? We need a Belgian.

How would you a) get rid of MM or at least say 'no' to him b) deal with websites like this c) encourage a singing section of the Walkers? Would you talk to us as MA did? Answer these correctly and we'll start a campaign!!!
The People's Hero Posted 4 September 2007 Posted 4 September 2007 Cuauhtemoc Blanco and Branko Strupar managerial dream team, I like it. Blanco is the dreamy ideas man whilst Branko rules with an iron fist. Laying down the law. I like the sound of this. Anyone got MM's number? I might text him.
