Lillehamring Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 The bookies got it totally wrong last time. Their plan is feed us bits of info so we go and back whoever, they get the money, we appoint someone never even mentioned. The bookies laugh all the way to the bank. Don't believe any of them. again, conveniently just the names bandied around in the tabloids - just goes to show how thick gamblers are...
Lillehamring Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 Grayson hasn't ruled himself out at all. quite right and this: There have also been claims Grayson is unhappy with his current contract with The Seasiders, but he insists it is not a problem that is troubling him. "Like any manager or any player, you are always wanting a better contract, aren't you? Everyone in life wants a better contract," added Grayson. "I've worked a situation with the club we've been happy with, and it's obviously an ongoing situation, but it's not a major issue. "It's probably been blown out of proportion. I'll keep working as hard as I have been, either with or without a contract." doesn't exactly sound like solid backing or reassurance of a long term job... tho, i don't think it'll happen based on what MM said about experience...
Thracian Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 Grayson hasn't ruled himself out at all. I didn't quite say he had. I used the word resisted because that was the impression given in the story (see earlier link). Grayson is a newish manager. He's built himself a bit of credibility at Blackpool. He can afford to wait an opportunity that carries a fraction of the risk of working with Mandaric. And just as much potential reward. I wonder if Mandaric would even like to work with himself. I certainly wouldn't wish Grayson to suffer the sort of summarary "piss off" which Mandaric effectively forced on Allen. He doesn't deserve it and has been far too good a servant to our club. Grayson should keep his dignity.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 Grayson has just signed Andy Welsh.
Webbo Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 Sorry if this has been posted before. For all you who wanted Chris Coleman in the summer, I read this in his column in the Mail today. Can't find it online so I've had to type it. Heard the crazy news from England about Martin Allen being sacked after only one defeat as Leicester manager. What's all that about? Nonsense! I spoke to Milan Mandericin the summer, but I didn't want the Leicester job and made it clear.
weggy1976 Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 What about Little as director of football, Grayson as manager and Walsh as his assistant. hte est of the coaching staff could be littered with taggert, elliott, and izzet maybe if linekers consortium could get back together for a bid to oust MM. dream on.

Stevosevic Posted 4 September 2007 Posted 4 September 2007 http://www.thebluearmy.co.uk/details.asp?b...6269754|p|536|0 Jewell says no to City by Andy Mann Paul Jewell is not in the running to be the new Leicester City manager, the Leicester Mercury understands. Former Wigan boss Jewell was the favourite with some bookmakers and many supporters' choice to succeed Martin Allen. Jewell, below, stepped down as Latics boss at the end of last season to take a break from football. And, as City owner Milan Mandaric continues his search for a new boss following the parting with Allen last week, sources suggest Jewell is not yet ready to make a return. Jewell is now 6-1 with online bookmaker bet365, who have installed Chelsea youth team coach Brendan Rodgers as odds-on favourite. Jewell's was one of a number of names to be linked with the vacancy, including former Manchester City and Sunderland manager Peter Reid and ex-Sheffield United boss Neil Warnock. Reid was mentioned following Craig Levein's departure last year, while Warnock is understood to have been in the running before Mandaric appointed Allen in May. Both men declined to comment on the speculation. Gary Megson, the former West Bromwich Albion and Nottingham Forest manager, has also been linked, as have Aberdeen's Jimmy Calderwood and Glenn Roeder. Former City captain Simon Grayson is another name to be linked, but he dismissed it as “pure speculationâ€. Grayson, who has guided Blackpool to the Championship level for the first time in 29 years, said: “The link goes together with me doing well as a manager, and also having played for them (City). “But it's pure speculation, and that's all it is. I'm working as hard as I can here, and hopefully I'll carry on doing that for a long time.†Meanwhile, City have completed the loan signing of Danish forward Adda Djeziri, as revealed in later editions of yesterday's Mercury. The 18-year-old joined from Danish side BK Frem until the end of the year. Djeziri spent the end of last season on loan at Rangers and trained with Blackburn in the summer. He joined fellow new signing Marco Ferreira for his first City training session yesterday. Ferreira, 29, a winger with four caps for Portugal, signed from Benfica on transfer deadline day until the end of the year. Mandaric said: “We have been searching long and hard for a wide player, and we hope that Marco will bring the dimension which we have been missing.â€
Manwell Pablo Posted 4 September 2007 Posted 4 September 2007 Haha, gutted. As the only living breathing sole inside of Leicestershire who didn't want him I'm very happy about this.
The People's Hero Posted 4 September 2007 Posted 4 September 2007 Let's just give Thracian the job and be done with it.
Flynny Posted 4 September 2007 Posted 4 September 2007 Haha, gutted. As the only living breathing sole inside of Leicestershire who didn't want him I'm very happy about this. Why didn't you want him?
Manwell Pablo Posted 4 September 2007 Posted 4 September 2007 Why didn't you want him? Beucause that Bradford City team he presided over was absolutely shocking, The Sheffield Wednesday team he presided over was even worse, he was given stupid amount of money at Wigan and that’s what got them up, and he nearly took them down last season despite having a reasonable squad. Just my opinion. Don't see why we have to have a big name with "experince" either. I'd like somone whos actually good at their job.
Flynny Posted 4 September 2007 Posted 4 September 2007 In what way were Bradford City shocking? Bit before my time. I know he got them up and kept them up, though. Wigan weren't an amazing squad when he got them up, and he kept them up twice. Second season syndrome is always going to be a problem for clubs. Reading'll probably finish 15th or something this year.
The People's Hero Posted 4 September 2007 Posted 4 September 2007 I think Jewell is a decent manager. Tactically and man-management is sound. Just lacks a bit of guile in the transfer market in my opinion.
