Brainy Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 What did he do in three months to be given that status?
Trav Le Bleu Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 Yeah coz the alternative of League One and Administration under the previous board was so appealing! No, I understand that, but it was a the devil and the deep-blue sea. Only time will tell which is which!
Lovejoy Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 Martin Allen's gone that can't be altered, not unless he does a Harry. What I find worrying is that it demonstrates very clearly that MM hasn't got the ability to judge people, he's employed so many managers, after, in his own words an exhaustive search and yet continues to fail. He is a successful business man but he either cannot spot a good football manager or cannot work with bad or good ones. I've simply no confidence that the next one or the next one or the next one........... will be the right one. MM on the appointment of MA No disrespect to the religious amongst this forum but the next Manager will have to have God like credentials to even get an interview and even then I suspect MM's ego to do battle with his business persona. Daggers Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 Have you gotten over your Keegan crush then? Ha! Funny that - I have just decided to re-pump thetyres on the Keegan bike and start peddling perm-related nonsense again. There's more chance of me taking Girls Aloud up the arse, but if I'm going to want to see anyone here then it'll be Kev.

Ric Flair Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 allen was the best manager we have had in yearswot is knob head mandaric playing at I'd love to know your thought process behind that.
The People's Hero Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 Only Garry Parker, Lee Philpott, Paul Jewell or Danny Invincible can sate me now. Perhaps a glorious triumverate of all but Danny. We need Danny on the playing staff. Left wing Danny.

weggy1976 Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 Peter Taylor.............cause his signings were that crap, so if that area is taken away from him and MM continues to make the signings then it's an appointment in the making. His terms will be aslong as Scowie is allowed to join him...... something going on there??

Don't forget that MA signed up to MM's three year vision for the club only to have the goalposts moved dramatically by MM before the season had hardly got underway. Milan changed his plans for the club, which possibly meant that MA no longer suited his criteria as manager either.

Geo V Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 Have you inside information Chimp, or is this based on assumption? People asking Chimps questions! We are turning into Michael Jacksons. Shhhhhhhhhhhhhamoannnnnnnnnnnnnn!! Heeeeeeeeeeee Heeeeeeeeee!

Milan changed his plans for the club, which possibly meant that MA no longer suited his criteria as manager either. Moving the goal posts doesn't change a manager's ability to manage. Even if it did, if MM had selected the correct manager in the first place he would have had someone on board capable of dealing with that because every business has to move the goal posts to keep up with the change in the business environment. Besides this is not based just on his appointment of Allen but on his many previous recruitment attempts of which I'm aware of only one being successful and even that one he did his best to mess up. I think my point stands.

You asked Thracian this question Can I ask you a question Thracian?Do you have inside information about exactly what has been going on behind the scenes for the past couple of months? Do you have facts about the exact relationship between MA and MM? Do you truthfully know the facts about what circumstances lead to MA departure? Or, are you basing your opinion on rumour, conjecture and assumption? I think you need to answer it yourself!
davieG Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 I doubt it will be Holloway Ian Holloway on Martin Allen Sacking... - BBC - IanHolloway column MARTIN ALLEN SACKING We've got Leicester on Saturday and they've sacked their manager, which was a bit of a strange state of affairs - especially after they'd just beaten Watford 4-1. That'll teach him! The honeymoon's over Let's hope everything is worked out financially. As far as I'm concerned there should be a rule that no football manager should ever be replaced without his own contract being sorted out first. Maybe that would sort out these chairman who chuck you on gardening leave, which is totally unjust and unfair. Our contracts aren't worth the paper they're written on but they would be if that rule was brought in...
DB11 Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 If anyone wants to read this rumour I heard then here it is. My dads friends boss () is mates with Paul Jewell and he asked my dads friend asked his boss to ask Paul Jewell if he'd take the LCFC job if it was offered as if he would he would put a bet on him getting it. So the boss did and rang back and said he said that he can't say anything but he lives 1h and 30m from LCFC and he really wants to get back into management and he'd be willing to travel a lot further than than 1h 30m for a job. Don't know if it's true, but I would want Paul Jewell out of all the unemployed managers atm. Definitely over Warnock

That's a little of what I was touching on yesterday and it seems certain there'll be some action taken soon concerning the sacking of managers.
