MPH Posted 2 September 2007 Posted 2 September 2007 Don't get me wrong - I would love to see Walshie here, but only after he has had some experience elsewhere and shown what he can do. So he is out for me at the moment.Billy Davies? Maybe, but he is really suffering at the moment coming to terms with Premiership football. So maybe not. If Warnock hadn't had such a bad history with City, I would welcome him with open arms, but it isn't to be. Monkey head? No way Jose! I think Paul Jewell or Glenn Roeder would be good - I felt sorry for Roeder last season, he didn't really fail. I think he could take us to where we want to be. i'd get him in as some sort of reserve/youth coach. blend him in gently. he wouild be an asset ( real motivation for any leicester lad who has grown up supporting leicester) to the club and in 5/10 years time who knows.... wasnt it Wigan we signed walsh from back in the day? 100k wasnt it?
sbenson Posted 2 September 2007 Posted 2 September 2007 Personally I'd go for Jewell, but would be more than happy to see Allen back. I guess Warnock, people would soon learn to like him. But would him and MM get on? Grayson and Redknapp lack experience unfortunatley. Megson aka Mr.Yoyo, and Roders a knob.
Raj Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 I don't think anyone has mentioned Steve Walsh. Did he ever do his coaching badges I'm 99.9% sure that Walshie Does NOT have any coaching badges. I just spotted Peter Reid at the England, India game. He looked really happy Thats cos he's an India Fan!!! In a way i hope MM goes for a Foreign manager rather than any dead wood like Roeder,Warnock,Reid Etc..... The thought of a season with any of them in charge would start off very depressing. My view, after the fiasco of last wwek is,even if we appointed a decent name manager,How would we know how long he'd last under MM?
Thracian Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 http://www.football.co.uk/blackpool/grayso...nk_251876.shtml Well it doesn't sound as if Grayson's interested. I'm not surprised. Mandaric's declared attitude to hiring and firing makes him an unlikely attraction for any senisble and experienced manager who values his peace of mind. All he'll get is a mercenary or someone presently out of work.

All he'll get is a mercenary or someone presently out of work. Which prompted my earlier post. This is from the Scotsman.com On the weekend that speculation linked Jimmy Calderwood with the managerial role at Leicester City, hardly a long-term career move if Milan Mandaric's previous form for disposing of coaches is anything to go by, Jefferies was being asked to pull another proverbial rabbit from his hat to replace Naismith.
demon_dog Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 All he'll get is a mercenary or someone presently out of work. I agree, suspect he may go for a foreigner. Can't think of any managers in this country that would want to work with him knowing his reputation. The job at the moment looks like a poisoned chalice.
Raj Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 I agree, suspect he may go for a foreigner. Jean Tigana is Foreign!
Master Fox Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 Jean Tigana is Foreign! I consider people from the North East to be Foreign

And the list of half-decent options is shrinking by the day with Jewell, Warnock (not that I wanted him) and Grayson having all reportedly resisted us.

bringbackWalshie Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 What about Little as director of football, Grayson as manager and Walsh as his assistant. hte est of the coaching staff could be littered with taggert, elliott, and izzet
Thracian Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 JEAN TIGANA/MARTIN JOL! After his treatment at Spurs, I'm sure Jol would just love it here!.

Thracian Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 http://www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk/disp...amp;pNodeId=132 Basically Mandaric's got us by the balls so don't rock the boat and tip it over. It's a familiar mentality. And just what MM plays on with his "trust in me, just in me" comments. Mandaric is a predatory opportunist. And I wouldn't trust any predator. However they turned out. PS: Sorry the This is Leicestershire link didn't work.

bringbackWalshie Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 i know its 2007 and maybe the backroom staff was wishful thinking, but with little and grayson i feel that fans will be happy and milan can have the expereince and passion he craves
demon_dog Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 Roeder and Warnock heavily backed The bookies got it totally wrong last time. Their plan is feed us bits of info so we go and back whoever, they get the money, we appoint someone never even mentioned. The bookies laugh all the way to the bank. Don't believe any of them.
Ultra Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 Hasn't he? It's pure speculation, and that's all it is. I'm working as hard as I can here, and hopefully I'll carry on doing that for a long time...
josh_baskin Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 Has Muzzy Izzet got his coaching badges yet?
