Flynny Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 Anyone got a Mercury yet? I'd be interested to see what they're saying. And by interested, I mean amused, probably.
Manwell Pablo Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 I'm fed up with people telling me I have to agree with this. No I really don't. I was actually one of the few who didn't want that cockney nut job appointed in the first place and if you find the original breaking story thread you'll see it third post down. But he signed a couple of decent players such as Stephen Clemance and Bruno N' Gotty, fair enough a few duffers have come through the as well but we know whos to blame for that. Crystal Palace second half we looked usefull, Watford at home we looked very usefull, and I'm finding it very hard to see why MA would be sacked for a poor Carling cup performance when nothing bad came of it, on the same night teams like Derby Wigan Wolves and Watford we're upset by teams from a lower division. We're 9th in the table, I'm looking forward to Saturday and bang. Managers gone, probabley down to the fact that MA doesn't want a striker and MM kept trying to force them on him. At the end of the day MA was the manager MM should let him do his job, until that happens, or MM finds someone he can work with really well, which has happened about once in 20/30 odd years, were going to hiring and firing alot. I'm not screaming Milan out or anything the man saved the club and had he not bought us we'd still have some god awfull players playing for us this season, but I don't have to agree with everything he does and I certainly don't agree with this.

I have to agree!! We don't know the full story as yet but Manadaric as of now has shot himself in the foot, and for his actions will be under increased scrutiny. If he fails to get success with the new management team etc, people will always look to this pivotel moment!!
Lord Nibblington Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 Is that un-usual then in the wacky world of football management? I think not.It might not be ideal seeing we had a fresh slate, but it's not the end of the world is it. The squad highlighted on Saturday it can compete It's not that un-usual... but does it usually happen to succesful teams? Yes, the side that played on Saturday can compete... but my point was will the new man want to play those player in that system and that style? Or will he play players who have thus far been in the reserves? And then will he change it all around and bring in a bunch load more of his own signings in January. Most succesful sides are borne out of consitancy. There is not an air of consistancy around Leicester City at the moment.
The People's Hero Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 Milan is Milan is Milan. It was either this (and expect more of the same) Or mundane, dour, mediocre-poor Championship led by idiots who don't know what they are doing or care.
breadandcheese Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 Some people have made statements saying Milan saved the club. Where is the evidence for this?

Clemence and N'Gotty are Milan signings as well though. We were linked with N'Gotty for weeks before Allen joined. And they're on £35,000 a week between them. It's obviously not a results-based decision so it seems a bit futile listing our results so far this season. All has not been well behind the scenes and we don't know the reason for the decision yet in my opinion. Until we know more...
James. Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 It's not about agreeing with what he's done. It's about understanding there may be more to this than meets the eye and also accepting that there was always potential for this sort of thing to happen. It's Milan's way and as such it's now our way. We should get used to it.
koop. Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 I am quite gutted about this, Allen was starting to bring back that hope i had with MON at the front but..........something more has gone on behind the scenes, MA and MM quite obviously have massive personalities and sometimes people like that just don't click, we all know what happens to a club when Manager and Chairman/Board don't click! So although I am very shocked and gutted about his departure I trust MM 100% and will ride with his decision (what choice do we have?) he's trying to save us and put us back in the top of English football. If he does that and sells us on then whatever, Portsmouth have certainly had the best of it lately. MILAN PLEASE BRING US PAUL JEWEL! he's the only man that can give me more hope than Martin Allen.

True, but the team is still gelling and will have to do so now until January, it's not as if the new guy's going to inherit a load of dead wood like some managers do. There is still room for optimism in my book, but then again, I am an optimist on any occassion. TJBS is the epitome of optimism Love you

They've just not been anywhere near the first team. I worry if the new guy doesn't think they're shite. Remember how much Neil Warnock liked to play/buy shit strikers at Sheff Utd? Elvis might still have a career here.

Nooooooooooooooo, the first pointer on the new management specification form - Manager must not be Thracian In fact, I'm convinced Elvis could bag 30 if we gave him a run to be honest
The People's Hero Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 If Warnock comes in, I'll really struggle to retain any affection for this club. Possibly similar for many as when Speedie came in.

Clemance, I dunno about that! The manager should be allowed to do his job, and I was listing the results to show why I'm dissapointed with this descion. A manager should only be sacked if he is under performing, and we aren't under performing we're ninth. He (Milan) should of learnt this from his medling at Portsmouth which nearly led to them being relegated. This all stems from the JFH thing, followed by Riordan. Ultimatley if MM was probabley getting involved in things he shouldn't be and I agree with Ultra on that score, he should stay out of them. And we aren't going to know any more Fez, the news article claims there will be no further comment from either party. EDIT: and guess what, as soon as I hit the post button, we have further news
Lord Nibblington Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 You weren't really expecting Mandaric to keep stum, were you Mablo?

Yeah, two personalities like Mandaric and Allen have a load of disagreements, one sacks the other and they both keep schtum for the rest of their lives. Doesn't matter what the contract says, we'll hear about it one way or the other. Especially when it starts to suit one or other of them more than it does right now. I appreciate your opinion on it but I'm just trying to argue against the general point of view that Mandaric is the devil incarnate for taking this decision. We still have 42 games left and the fans need to keep playing our part. Protesting against Mandaric will make us even more of a laughing stock and chaotic mess than we are at the moment. Unless I know exactly why Allen was sacked and disagree with the reason given, I feel it's more important to move on. It's frustrating but this is what we all bought into when we accepted Mandaric (apart from Ultra. FOXES.) --- Edit: was posting that, haha what news is it! I'm off to find out.

I can guess why he's done it and and unless his attitude changes it's going to cause us further problems, look at his track record in terms of managers it's not good. I'm not going to protest and of cause in the long run I will have to accept it but for now I'm pissed off and worried. I suggest a Boycott until October 6th
Babylon Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 I just can't be arsed with us any more, i'm tired of getting stressed about it all. I just want a manager for two years and to finish 9th and 10th. I need the rest.

Babylon Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 We had one for over 2 months and we're now 9th? How's that? 1 year and 10 months short i'm afraid. I just hope we get another character, I couldn't bare someone like Roeder, Megson etc.
Manwell Pablo Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 Do you reckon Gary Mabbutt would be interested in the job? Stalking him would be alot easier if he moved to Leicester.
Ric Flair Posted 30 August 2007 Author Posted 30 August 2007 1 year and 10 months short i'm afraid. I just hope we get another character, I couldn't bare someone like Roeder, Megson etc. Why on earth would Mandaric go for someone with the record of Roeder or Megson, it doesn't make sense. I'd take offence to both of them and Reid, Pleat and the usual suspects that get linked with us every time we require a new manager.

Didn't Roeder confirm he had spoken to MM on sky??? Someone said he did.
