Fez of Mahrez Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 When it says end of the year do you think it means end of this calendar year or end of the football year. I presume end of this calendar year but it could be construed differently.
Lord Nibblington Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 When it says end of the year do you think it means end of this calendar year or end of the football year. I presume end of this calendar year but it could be construed differently. I assume calender year, else they would have said season long / end of season a la Fulop.
Joe. Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 Well he sounds decent enough. Let's just hope he's the answer on the left.
Thracian Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 Pretty pleased with this. Thought it was taking a long time to happen. Nice to see us signing International players from Benfica. I get the impression he is more of a right sided player but I'm hoping he'll play on the left for us.I assume the rumoured clause about an option to buy at the end of the season didn't happen????? I hope he plays where he belongs.
Smudge Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 When it says end of the year do you think it means end of this calendar year or end of the football year. I presume end of this calendar year but it could be construed differently. According to this Sky Sports article it is until June 2008 http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11712_2667615,00.html
bainesy Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 thats an old one mate. thats before it went through
Staf Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 Thought this was another made up sky sports rumour the other week. Get In
Flynny Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 Not bad at all by the sound of it. Hopefully he'll play on the right, not the left, if he's predominantly a right-winger. Anything beats Newton. It'd explain Gradel's loan being extended, too.
Bareknucklefoxer. Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 I hope he plays where he belongs. I've read somewhere that Portuguese players are trained hard on both sides, especially wide playing players, so I presume that this guy can play anywhere on the flanks, be it at the back or in midfield. I think he's going to be one of our better signings, he has good pedigree and is only29. We all have to wait and see with our own eyes.
Smudge Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 thats an old one mate. thats before it went through I wasn't stating it was correct just kinda pointing Sr. Fez in some kind of direction, Obrigado!

Milky Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 Excellent to hear it confirmed. Credit must go to the benfica fan who came on this afternoon to tell us the deal was done.
Bareknucklefoxer. Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 Did Milan contract you for the entire season or are you on a month by month arrangement? Well as it goes, season long loan with option to buy.
breadandcheese Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 It'll be interesting to see where Milan plays him. At the moment, it seems like we've now got 2 right wingers in Kaebi and Ferreira. Not too sure his pedigree is as good as people think. It's certainly a mixed bag with 4 international caps, yet also an odd exile in Japan. Looking at wikipeda and his stats, he's never played that many games in a season, averaging around 20 games a season. Could be great but equally could be appalling. Still, his name sounds a bit like Ferrari and he's foreign...

Ronaldo, Queresma and Nani are the three Portuguese wingers in the national team atm and are all right footers equally adept at playing left or right wing, as was the great Luis Figo.
Ozwin Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 One of our better signings by the looks of things. He must be a left winger because that's the main position that's needed looking at and as the website states he's here to fill that position.
Telf Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 Really hope he is a left winger and a good one. Hopefully he can sort are problem out on the left and i also think we have a option to buy him at the end of the season for around 500k.
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marco_Ferreira - he played 23 games in the season Porto won the Champions League, says he picked up the UEFA Cup too.....wow! Am I dreaming???!!
Fez of Mahrez Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 Marco Ferreira Jose Mourinho Brendan Rodgers Hmm.
Lord Nibblington Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 Marco FerreiraJose Mourinho Brendan Rodgers Hmm. I see. I getcha. Jose to take over here. Brendan to take over at Chelsea. Genius! Err. No?
MPH Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 he's a right winger though isn't he?this goal someone posted from the other week is certainly hit with his right foot!! well i guess Joe Cole is right footed but seems to play ok on the left...
MPH Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 hope i dont get in trouble for posting info on a topic already closed but i just wanted to point out that the loan deal is not until the end of the season but until the end of the YEAR.... read the first paragraph: http://www.lcfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/Lates...1103635,00.html hopefully Admins can still merge topics?
