Bert Posted 26 September 2007 Posted 26 September 2007 Megson: I think he seems set on play 3 centre backs.
Ultra Posted 26 September 2007 Posted 26 September 2007 Well done Megson. I trust the chairman will be as positive in the media tomorrow..
BedsFox Posted 26 September 2007 Posted 26 September 2007 he's right though, we look more solid away from home with the extra centre back and Mattock was terrific now if we could get a real wing back on the other side..Kaebi..we'd be a real threat on the break away from home At home, I would think 3-5-2 might not create that much (especially if its 7 right/left/centre backs, Clemence and Campbell, lolol)l

Bruno, Kisnorbo, McAuley, Stearman, Kenton, Mattock, Maybury and Chambers.
Raj Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 It was 8 defenders by the end.Bruno, Kisnorbo, McAuley, Stearman, Kenton, Mattock, Maybury and Chambers. 8-1-1. The future. THAT is the way to go! solid brick wall at the back, then hit 'em hard!
teblin Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 Megson:I think he seems set on play 3 centre backs. Nothing wrong with that if we win games, we have been very successful in the past playing that way.
Simi Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 Gary Megson was full of praise for City's 'twelfth man' following their impressive 1-0 victory over Aston Villa on Wednesday evening. I thought the atmosphere was pretty average tonight, until 1 slightly better moment.
Kent Fox Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 It was 8 defenders by the end.Bruno, Kisnorbo, McAuley, Stearman, Kenton, Mattock, Maybury and Chambers. What I like though is that anyone of them can get forward and steal a goal a la Stearz at F****t. If it works, play it. The only problem is, that if played consistently, when do the likes of Kaebi, Ferriera et al get a game??

The only problem is, that if played consistently, when do the likes of Kaebi, Ferriera et al get a game?? Well at least we can't accuse Megson of being a Mandaric yes man. I'm guessing Kaebi was a Mandaric inspired signing, whilst Ferriera clearly was as we had no manager at the time. I'd love the glamour of them being in the squad too, but the reports of those who have watched them in reserve games say things like 'improving' 'starting to stick to a plan' and so forth, and have appeared underwhelming in their praise. Granted thought it'd be good to see one of them on the bench so we can start to see some cameo appearances and see if they look like they can cut the mustard. If we're moving towards 5-3-2, used so successfully in the MON days with the defensive trio of Elliott, Taggs and Walshie, we had attacking full/wing backs in the form of Savage and Guppy. Savage and Guppy had to work incredibly hard up and down the flanks. It doesn't sound like Ferreira would want to do that, and that Kaebi might like the forward bit, but would neglect his defensive duties

I have yet to see Ferriera and Kaebi, but based on what I have read on here, Kaebi does like to get forward. Which is no bad thing in itself, but if it leaves us exposed at the back, it will cause us problems. As for Ferriera not liking it, tough titties. On saying that, I would still like to see us try it and I think we will once GM has established roles and duties for everyone else which will take a bit of time. If at least 9 from 11 know EXACTLY what they are supposed to be doing, then 2 who appear to be more adventurous could be tolerated.

lcfc_jme Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 I thought the atmosphere was pretty average tonight, until 1 slightly better moment. T'was better than average, I thought (when you consider how our fans usually are). Though I'll agree that it wasn't as good as it was at Forest.

I suppose. I find it frustrating that hardly anyone sings until we score, I could understand the argument about "we had nothing to sing about" but we could of outsung Villa all game yesterday.

I think we did outsing them all game to be honest. From where i was it was quality.
Dames Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 We was singing quite well but Villa were swarming all over us and most people were starting to get abit downbeat because it looked like they was gunna score at any minute. And when we scored it raised everyone's spirits thus the singing got louder.
Maybes Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 Nice to see the majority of the city section standing. The way it should be
Daggers Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 Nice to see the majority of the city section standing. The way it should be Unless you were having an argument about being told to sit down with an utter assmaster
RowlattsFox Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 I could see that the bloke behind wanted me to sit down but i wouldnt turn round and look him in the eye, he didnt say anything though.
Nationwider Posted 27 September 2007 Posted 27 September 2007 Has plan. Plan works. Beats Prem team. Thanks fans. Job's a good 'un.
