Nod.E Posted 3 October 2007 Posted 3 October 2007 Time to put this right As i said to ched on saturday, i am now in agreement that Henderson is not a good enough keeper. He had his good games and i was a fan, and here and there i had my bad days and took it out on members on here. Myself and ched laughed about how we'd argued on this site. Just a stress releaser i guess. Anyway, on topic, Fulop is a REAL quality keeper, yes ok so Henderson has great feet and is indeed a great shot stopper, but unlike the rest of the keepers at the club, Fulop is a great shot stopper AND reliable when it comes to crosses and kicking and also communication. He has impecible handling under all kinds of pressure and other keepers should strive to work to his standard. Without him inbetween the posts i would be alot less optimistic about our defence as a whole before a game. And as for fans of Logan, i hope Fulops performances have lessened your views on him as he has done for me on Henderson. But good luck to Logan, if he can work to come as good as Fulop then we have a great startlet at the club.
Cat Burger Posted 3 October 2007 Posted 3 October 2007 I agree, but Henderson DOES NOT have great feet!
The People's Hero Posted 3 October 2007 Posted 3 October 2007 I agree, but Henderson DOES NOT have great feet! Maybe not great, but compared to Logan/Douglas, his feet are amazing. Logan just doesn't move.

I sincerely hope that come the transfer window we buy him. Hopefully we can seal a deal before any premiership team come in for him, (Spurs?) if the big boys do start to take note then his price will increase considerably. If I was Milan, I'd try to strike a deal now, so that the minute the transfer window opens, we announce we've got him.
AyewJoking Posted 3 October 2007 Posted 3 October 2007 I think Milan should pay over the odds for Fulop (he's got the money and you cant "Nielsen" about when signing quality keepers) because Sunderland seem to rate him despite not playing him.
oundlefox Posted 3 October 2007 Posted 3 October 2007 Fulop has been one of the big positives this season. Much more commanding in the air than Henderson as he can actually catch a ball. Henderson's weakness was exposed in the first Forest game when he was miles away from a corner. Good shot stopper but Fulop just looks more imposing as well. One of the few good signings we made.
The Stig Posted 3 October 2007 Posted 3 October 2007 Get him signed, best keeper we've had since Walker
Geo V Posted 3 October 2007 Posted 3 October 2007 Good News - He`s a fantastic keeper Bad News - He is only on loan and I can see some Premiership clubs who have dodgy keepers like Middlesbro, Derby and even Arsenal showing an interest in him if he continues his current form. We need to win a few games and convince him to sign on a permanent deal asap!
Koke Posted 3 October 2007 Posted 3 October 2007 His distribution could improve though. So many times last night his goal-kicks just went into a throw-in in the Wolves half. Other than that, he's a class keeper.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 3 October 2007 Posted 3 October 2007 Absolute class, his save from (i think it was) Karl Henry in the first half last night was absolutely outstanding and almost as good as the save at Forest from Luke Chambers' header.
lcfc4780 Posted 3 October 2007 Posted 3 October 2007 Get him signed, best keeper we've had since Walker I agree with that!!
Bert Posted 3 October 2007 Posted 3 October 2007 His distribution could improve though. So many times last night his goal-kicks just went into a throw-in in the Wolves half. Other than that, he's a class keeper. I see your point. But would you rather have a goalie who can save shots and win matches or a goalie that can kick. Conrad can kick, but that's about it.

I just think for a quality keeper that he is, his distribution are rather poor. Its exactly like Patrick Kisnorbo. A quality defender but his passing are just woeful.
Thracian Posted 3 October 2007 Posted 3 October 2007 His first half save at an incoming Wolves forward's feet was also perfectly timed and executed. It was just the sort of situation Rab Douglas might have coneded a penalty but Fulop bided his time and made the situation look routine. For me he's starting to look like one of the best and most reliable keeper's I've seen at Leicester. His height helps but I've seen tall goalkeepers make a mess of crosses whereas Fulop seems to take the ball cleanly and with as little fuss as possible. In fact he never seems to make anything look harder than necessary which is the hallmark of a quality keeper. Brilliant signing.
Alexikokopops Posted 3 October 2007 Posted 3 October 2007 I used to shit myself every time the ball came near Henderson. I don't with Fülop. Bloody brilliant.

Simi Posted 3 October 2007 Posted 3 October 2007 Absolute class, his save from (i think it was) Karl Henry in the first half last night was absolutely outstanding and almost as good as the save at Forest from Luke Chambers' header. Fantastic save that was. As LD3 said, it makes you wonder how good Craig Gordon actually is. I used to shit myself every time the ball came near Henderson.I don't with Fülop. Bloody brilliant. I think this is one of the main reasons why he's liked so much. Commands most things around him.
Smudge Posted 3 October 2007 Posted 3 October 2007 I used to shit myself every time the ball came near Henderson.I don't with Fülop. Bloody brilliant. That can certainly put a downer on the afternoon.
Bentex Posted 3 October 2007 Posted 3 October 2007 Nice to see Marci being appreciated. He is a great keeper! He's been cruelly underused by Sunderland and Spurs! Even with the Hungarian NT but he's firmly number 1 now.

Bentex Posted 3 October 2007 Posted 3 October 2007 Marci is what Hungarians call him We often use the 'pet' versions of names.
Geo V Posted 3 October 2007 Posted 3 October 2007 Marci is what Hungarians call him We often use the 'pet' versions of names. If I ever buy a cat or a dog that has long limbs, I know what to call him He is a great keeper and looking at how Spurs` Robinson is playing I think they should have kept him never mind Sunderland. I hope we keep him but I think we have no chance.

But just clarify it's like in England Peter becomes Pete, Steven > Steve, William> Bill etc. So Márton > Marci It will be tough for Leicester to keep him I agree. But Marci is very happy that he's playing regularly now. So I think he could be worried about signing for a higher placed team because he could end up sitting on the bench again. He was kept out of the national team for that reason. Since he's got the #1 shirt he's been great for Hungary!
