MC Prussian Posted 16 May 2009 Posted 16 May 2009 J'adore ca.Are the Harlem Shakes any good? I've heard good things. The Golden Silver lead singer reminds me of Elvis Costello for some strange reason. Similar voice, eh? Harlem Shakes very good. Alternative pop from NY. Maybe Jordan knows more about them. I like the album.

Just downloading some songs now - any recommendations? Big find, cheers Alexei.
General Smuts Posted 16 May 2009 Posted 16 May 2009 And Golden Silvers/Elvis Costello - i don't really see it, the fella from Alkaline Trio on the other hand sounds a lot like Elvis Costello.
General Smuts Posted 26 May 2009 Posted 26 May 2009 Those Dancing Days FAN. And i would. All of them. Together. Mmmmmmmmm.
StanSP Posted 26 May 2009 Posted 26 May 2009 Feist. Didn't they do the 1,2,3,4 song sometime last year? Female lead singer?
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 27 May 2009 Posted 27 May 2009 Phoenix. Heard about these a month or so ago and just managed to get hold of their album which comes out in May. If anybody fancies a listen, go for '1901', absolute beast of a track. Also, Grammatics are another band I hope are destined for good things. Heard quite a few songs of there new album Phoenix wolfgang armadaes or what ever it's called. Some really good tracks on there. Joe are they french or german?

shen Posted 28 May 2009 Posted 28 May 2009 Demians - very impressed with him, and amazing to play all the instruments yourself. Always got the deepest respect for those kind of talents.
Joe. Posted 30 May 2009 Posted 30 May 2009 New Rhodes (Sort of a mix between The Courteeners and Joe Lean) Miike Snow (Look up the track 'Animal', quality)
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 1 June 2009 Posted 1 June 2009 They're French mate. Love them at the minute. I thought so, it's just they do not sound french.
Part Of The Crowd Posted 1 June 2009 Posted 1 June 2009 Alestorm, can't beat a bit of pirate metal, great fun
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 1 June 2009 Posted 1 June 2009 The Twelves IAMX You, Me, And Everyone We Know
StanSP Posted 1 June 2009 Posted 1 June 2009 The TwelvesIAMX You, Me, And Everyone We Know What genre of music do each play?
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 1 June 2009 Posted 1 June 2009 What genre of music do each play? The Twelves are a Brazilian electro duo, who sound a bit like Empire of the Sun, if you've ever heard of them. Look at Works For Me. IAMX is quite similar, solo project, synthpop / elctronic sounding stuff, Think Of England is a really good track. You Me and Everyone We Know are almost pop-punk meets indie, but it works quite well tbf. Carolina Heat is worth checking out song-wise.

Only asked because didn't want to waste my time finding out about them. But looks like I might like listening to all three! I quite like Empire of the Sun. Got a few of their tracks from their album the other day
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 1 June 2009 Posted 1 June 2009 I am aware of IAMX, so there. Yeah I thought you would. Cool. Only asked because didn't want to waste my time finding out about them. But looks like I might like listening to all three!I quite like Empire of the Sun. Got a few of their tracks from their album the other day Looking at what you've been listening to recently then YMAEWK will probably suit your taste more.
StanSP Posted 1 June 2009 Posted 1 June 2009 Looking at what you've been listening to recently then YMAEWK will probably suit your taste more. Yeah they're not bad actually. But in Living the Dream, the singer sounds like he's trying to hard . Carolina Heat is a good listen. Quite like IAMX, especially Think Of England and Nature of Inviting.
Lillehamring Posted 1 June 2009 Posted 1 June 2009 Yeah I thought you would. Looking at what you've been listening to recently then YMAEWK will probably suit your taste more. very catchy
Joe. Posted 1 June 2009 Posted 1 June 2009 Dananananaykroyd. Not as bad as their name suggests. Think they're playing at Summer Sundae this year...
