The appointment of Dowie would evoke the same reactions as when I heard that Megson had been picked up. Disapointment, bewilderment and anger. It'd be a backwards step, considering that there are so many managers that would love to come and manage us. The man's doing a decent job at the Sky Blue Shite, not a good one. Can't we appoint a manager who's doing well at the minute?

WHO????

Give Tags the job, i mean it can't get any worse? (SHUT UP ABOUT RELEGATION)

Chris Coleman for mine he would be good for us not a bad manager

No matter who's on that list above, the club (=Mandy) will decide otherwise and present us with a manager no one could've ever come up with in the first place!!!

how about raiding MK Dons for Paul Ince, seems to be doing the business there

I like Paul Ince and think he would do a job for us, but Mandaric said he wanted to hire someone with experience after he got rid of Alle. Jewell is another good candidate and one without compensation payment, but i doubt he would be interested unless given loads of dosh!!!

Someone with something between their ears (other than their nose) would be nice. I don't think it's any coincidence that our best manager of recent times was also the most intelligent (I'm not talking about Mickey Adams either), which is why I'm confused as to why people keep suggesting renowned football dunces like Walsh and Taggart (effective players though they might have been). I think not being very bright was one of the things that did for Martin Allen.

Arsene Wenger, Alex Ferguson, Jose Mourinho, Jurgen Klinnsman, Philipe Scolari, Sven Goran Ericcson, etc etc...the thing that unites all the big name managers I can think of, despite their wildly different personalities, is that none of them are generally regarded as being a bit thick.

And whoever it is, can we give them a chance please, calling for their head after a season or so rather than about 3 games? City are proving the old adage that a team that changes its manager every five minutes is, well, shit

I agree we need a manager with a bit of experence even though i love taggerz and walshy

we also need to keep them for more than 6 games

plz excuse spelling

Realistically, Jewell has made his intentions to stay away from football longer than he already has. This was the reason he turned us down after Allen so I cant see how his opinion would have changed in 6 weeks.

A list of names that I think possabilities (Pls correct me if these guys are not available??)

George Graham - Big name to keep fans happy, out of game for a while.

Glenn Hoddle - Not my choice to be fair, hardly set Wolves alight.

Gerard Houllier - Why not, Milan has contacts abroad and has the money to back a Manager with his calibre

Kevin Keegan - Has stated that he is not interested in football at all, would be high on my list if he could be persueded.

Mike Newell - Linked before, I wouldnt want him. Think he has the wrong attitude and would clash with Milan.

Glenn Roeder - Dont think Im alone when I say not my choice. I think it would be a step backwards

Gianluca Vialli - Again, milan has contacts abroad and Vialli could fit the bill

Berti Vogts - Could be interesting

Steve Staunton - Linked with Norwich I believe, could be worth a shout

Then there would be the usual crowd, Holloway, Ince, Grayson.

Personally, I would prefer to see Milan push the boat out this time and go for a top Man, Houllier, Vialli, Keegan or Graham.

Failing that it has to be someone with passion for the game, Ince or Grayson immeadiatly spring to mind.

I think that going for the likes of Hoddle or Roeder are pointless. They would come here pick up a hugh wage, sign medioca players and we would go nowhere. At least with Houllier or Vialli you could be sure that there would be big names coming in and entertaining football on show.

Paul Simpson of PNE - good young manager, shafted by them in having to sell good players and they still play decent football

I don't think that's a bad shout. They're not doing brilliantly at the moment, but like you said, they've sold players and maybe he'll think he's taken them as far as he can

Don't know if anybody has mentioned his name before but one to throw into the pot for me is Darren Ferguson at Peterborough. A mate of mine goes to watch Posh a fair bit and says they play some cracking football for that level. I know its a risk because he never played or managed yet at the top level, but he'd be worth a punt in my opinion.

Admittedly they've spent some dosh for League 2, but he's like his old man, as in he likes to play quality football, which I've forgotten what that means at the Walkers this year. He could always bend the ear of his old man for help and advice and maybe we could get a few young, hungry and half decent Man U kids on loan to help us. Better packing them off on loan to the Championship than lower leagues as they'll learn a lot more.

Failing that, Grayson for me. Done brilliant job at Blackpool and at least he knows the club and the passion of the fans.

I like what John Collins is doing at Hibernain but i'd be amazed if he left there to come to a team in turmoil. I am constantly impressed with what Simon Grayson is doing at Blackpool and could see him being the most likely to come here out of the prospective managers who we'll be looking at who are attached to clubs.

The Mandaric revoltuon to me, initially bought thoughts of masses of Eastern Europeans. In which case i'd like this to be the focus, a certain Raddy Antic is out of wrk. Has been for a couple of years. The man is an unbelievably good coach and manager at the highest level, thinking he'd come here is ludicrous given the clubs he's managed (Barcelona, Real Madrid, Athletico Madrid, Zaragoza, Celta) but I am of the opinion that if you're ambitious, you'll eventually get the high calibre you desire.

It's likely that Paul Ince wouldn't be ready to come here, a total toss piece but proving he's a quality manager in the lower leagues.

Dave Penney goes about his business quietly but very effectively and like Gary Johnson, i've no doubts he's more than good enough to be a success at this level. Likewise Russell Slade, who's got his admirers, his constant cap wearing is his only downside with me! :D

The likes of Newell and Hoddle wouldn't offend me too much either.

By the way, Grayson has been added to the poll. Crazy not to have him as a choice.

Depends on whether on not he wants another manager who has acheived promotion from the Championship to the Prem, if so we could be looking at someone even worse than Megson.

Dunno if anyone's posted it but from the sun's website:

But now Mandaric is ready to use the £350,000 he will receive in compensation to ask Coventry for permission to speak to Iain Dowie.

The Sky Blues are fighting administration so Dowie has no money to spend on players.

I think it makes sense, Cov are begging for more cash that could keep them going another month.

Hmmmm. Still can't make my mind up on Dowie, any initial joy from his appointment would be because the Coventry mob would be distraught. But Megson going to Bolton has given me enough to laugh about, I would rather we got someone with innovative attacking ideas.

Co Adriaanse for me. He did wonders at AZ In Holland and won the title with Porto. Currently taking it easy in the middle east. Plays expansive attacking football Dutch stylie !

YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES

Was my outside choice the last time around, chances of us getting him? It would be hard to be confident.
