Mandaric has obviously always been fairly keen on him. I think it's time we gave support to whoever we get in and hope that both manager and chairman stick it out. If it's Dowie then so be it.

I wouldn't be ecstatic but I'd agree that a bit of stability is what's needed.

An exciting sounding foreigner might generate some interest but for every Arsene Wenger there is a Christian Gross and an Alain Perrin and probably several other shit foreign managers I cannot think of at the moment

Your true in that there are many shit foreign coaches but I personally would prefer someone with a track record of managing big European clubs than the Ian Dowies of the world who frankly have only got one promotion to the Premiership to their name.

Why not be a bit more adventurous. We are all fed up of the dross served up over the last few seasons so why not try a different direction.

If it IS to be Dowie, I agree that we should get behind him, not call for his head after five minutes and hope that he can do a job for us.

Trying to look on the bright side, the positives of a Dowie appointment are :

- He is not Roeder, Hoddle, Monkey's heid, John Gregory or George Graham

- He has worked with an interfering nutjob publicity seeking chairman before (miss piggy at Palace), so the experience would stand him in good stead

- It seems a long time ago now, but he transformed an underperforming 2nd tier outfit into promotion material

I'd have prefered Grayson, but if it has to be Dowie, fair play, let's get on with it...

Not so sure about Coleman, no experiance at this Level and of a Promotion charge. For me he did an average job at Fulham considering the money they had over the years.

Jewell would be good for this division but like Megson, I have doubts about his calibre for the Prem (should we ever get back there!!) Also, after a decent season with Wigan he left.... Not much loyalty there again Im afraid.

We need a Manager who is in it for the long term, someone with a point to prove maybe or someone with serious ambitions to take a Championship side into the Prem, like Redknapp did with Pompey.

Hasn't Mandaric already said on the radio last night that he won't be pursuing Dowie as he's already with another club, and that the new manager will be appointed fairly quickly. Someone either out of work or currently not a manager.

That could rule out Dowie, Grayson, Ince, Collins.

But the likes of Newell, Hoddle, Roeder, Jewell, Rodgers, Clarke and Little are all in with a shout.

Looking at the squad of players we have, I think Brian Little would be a good shout. The only stumbling block would be if the Fans took him back. Tricky situation, I wouldnt be against it but could understand the many who would.

I haven't seen anything about that? Did he say that on RL? I suppose it would be a bit harsh moaning about Megson then trying to snare Dowie.

If our new manager's name ends in "ewell", I will be happy. Unless it's Brian Sewell.

I must be one of the only one's who think Brian Little in as manager would be fookin disasterous. What exactly has he done since he left us for Aston Villa?

He has the experience and the links with success at this club, but other than that he's as undesirable as the other goobers out of work who we'll no doubt be linked with.

If Little get's the gig himself, i'll not be happy at all.

However if he comes in as DOF with someone who might wet the appetite then I will be reasonably satisfied. But to give him the gig on his own as manager would be terrible. He's a early 90's manager, done fook all since.

I'm lending my backing to Muffin the Mewell.

Got to be better than Harry sodding Kewell.

Oh and nice try Jason, but your surname is spelt Euell.

For some reason i quite fancy the idea of Steve Clarke as our next manager, I know we dont have greatest history when taking gambles on managers (bar O'Neill) but then we dont have a good record going for experienced ones either. Maybe Clarke and Brendan Rodgers can form some dream partnership :D

Also, his first game could be against Chelsea, and things always seem to work out like that.

Manewell Pablo, he's been very quiet of late. Is he preparing his CV for Mr Mandaric?

Manewell Pablo can't apply as he is a lion.

Moanwell Pablo is busy moaning (thanks Ultra - ps good one!)

Manwell Pablo is a mediocre (!) full back for Deportivo and so is hardly qualified to take the job either.

I nominate Thracian.

He may play for Deportivo La Coruna.

But he doesn't play for Deportivo Lack Ability who registered their first ever clean sheet last night and second win of the season with a 3-0 win over Team Virgin, hilariously re-named Team of Virgins by our mentally deficient captain.

I think Manuel Pablo would struggle to get in your team.

I think it would be funny to ask him to play.

Not as funny as when my mate offered Benito Carbone his car (a F wredge Mark 1 Fiesta) if he played a season for his 5 a side team though, now that was funny.

I offered Keith Gillespie a double whiskey to stay at City.

Bizarrely, this ended up with me having a double whiskey too, ending up with his player of the year trophy and engaging in a 10 minute conversation I didn't understand a word of.

And he still left the club.

Lo all - I've registered so I can make a point and that is: -

Like a lot of you I was at the Blackpool game and the one thing that was apparant to me was that Grayson had them very organised. They played as a team and they worked damn hard - remind you of anyone.

I personally think that the so called "high profile" managers available are all pretty shit - lets face it, if they were any good they would already be managing!!

Grayson, is ex-city, has passion, has Blackpool playing the sort of game we like and has ambition (as well as a lot to learn I suppose). For me he would be a great fit and possibly a great asset to the club, he would be my choice above all others (except Gus Hidink but he wont be coming).

Anyways, that's all I wanted to say - GO CITY.

He ruled himself out six weeks ago so I don't see what will have changed.
