Fox in a Box Posted 8 November 2007 Posted 8 November 2007 As we build up to the game on Saturday afternoon, post your comments here... Now this is a must win game if |I ever seen one, win your homes game were always told..... points away from home are a bonus. Burnley are a decent solid team so I think this ones gonna be close.
STUHILL Posted 8 November 2007 Posted 8 November 2007 Hmm play this 11 and we would have no problem beating them! Shame that 11 isn't goin to happen! ....................................Fulop................................... ......................N'Gotty..... McCauley.....Kisnorbo Chambers..........................................................Sheehan ............................Weso.......Clemence...................... .....................................Hume..................................... ..............................John............Fryatt........................... Subs. Hendo, Kenton, King, Dj, Cort
Manwell Pablo Posted 8 November 2007 Posted 8 November 2007 Very ****ing glad that it was this weekend that I decided to go to a European game. Not missed a Burnley at home game....pfff I dunno since when, Pre 96. I've not seen us score a goal in this fixture yet.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 8 November 2007 Posted 8 November 2007 I don't think this is any more or less a must-win game than nearly any other game we've had over the last three or four years really. Bit sick of that phrase when all we do every week year after year is draw 1-1 and we still haven't been relegated.

STUHILL Posted 8 November 2007 Posted 8 November 2007 Sheehans suspended, Mcauley, Weso, Clemence, Hume and Dj are all probably out through injury. Could be wrong Yeh that's why I said '...shame it isnt going to happen' Hopefully we will be able to get that 11 out at some point though because I think that could cause any Champ team troubles.
Monk Posted 8 November 2007 Posted 8 November 2007 It is not a must win game, but it is quite pivotal in the Christmas run up. A win would put us in a position (possibly 11th) where would could contemplate taking a run at the playoffs in the second half of the season. A loss would have us looking over our shoulders. Team will be bare bones as we all know. I'd still like to see 3 strikers on the pitch and just fking go for goals. Burrows has nothing to lose.

Raj Posted 8 November 2007 Posted 8 November 2007 Tis a MUST WIN Game. A MASSIVE GAME. The future of the club relies onthis result One which Legends are made from. T'int really THAT big but we could do with a win....probs be a 0-0er!!!
mancunianfox Posted 8 November 2007 Posted 8 November 2007 I really hope we might see an end to 5-3-2 at home. Awaty games its fines but not at home. Fulop Stearman N'Gotty Kisnorbo Kenton Newton Chambers King Hayes Fryatt John Subs: Henderson, Maybury, Hellings, Cort, McKay
STUHILL Posted 8 November 2007 Posted 8 November 2007 Well we are going to have to start winning bloody soon if we want any chance, otherwise we have have to go on long winning streak in 2nd half of season. Just out of interest, at this stage of season and where we're at in terms of points and squad, do people still think we can make play-offs?? I personally think we can but Christmas games and Transfer window will be vital.
Monk Posted 8 November 2007 Posted 8 November 2007 Think Kaebi will play on Sat???? Shall we take this one into a separate thread I can see it now "Should Kaebi Play??" Original
Raj Posted 8 November 2007 Posted 8 November 2007 Shall we take this one into a separate threadI can see it now "Should Kaebi Play??" Original It always deserves a thread of its own! Im sure someone will start one soon.......
STUHILL Posted 8 November 2007 Posted 8 November 2007 Think Kaebi will play on Sat???? What has happened to this guy, the buy of the season, prem clubs after him, in top 10 brightest prospects, over 50 caps for Country.....All this yet struggles in reserves for Leicester........Was it all a lie?? What's going on?? Ahh I can't cope!
Thracian Posted 8 November 2007 Posted 8 November 2007 Fulop, Chambers, N'Gotty, Kisnorbo, Mattock; King Hume, Hayes. Fryatt DJ, John. Subs: Henderson, Stearman, Kenton, Cort, Chambers.
Koke Posted 8 November 2007 Posted 8 November 2007 Fulop,Chambers, N'Gotty, Kisnorbo, Mattock; King Hume, Hayes. Fryatt DJ, John. Subs: Henderson, Stearman, Kenton, Cort, McKay. Is Hayes any good in that position? And more importantly, is he fit enough to play?
Raj Posted 8 November 2007 Posted 8 November 2007 It wont happen but i want ALL OUT ATTACK!!!! Fryatt,Cort,DJ and anyone else who is half fit in a 4-5 striker combo attack. Fcuk midfield, just hoof it to them from defence. It's the future!
Dr The Singh Posted 8 November 2007 Posted 8 November 2007 It wont happen but i want ALL OUT ATTACK!!!!Fryatt,Cort,DJ and anyone else who is half fit in a 4-5 striker combo attack. Fcuk midfield, just hoof it to them from defence. It's the future! I say we fvck the defence, just all out attack!!!
Thracian Posted 8 November 2007 Posted 8 November 2007 Is Hayes any good in that position? And more importantly, is he fit enough to play? If Mattock plays he's not going to charge up and down the left wing so the alternative to Hayes in midfield is to have little or no threat from the left side at all. Hayes skippered the reserves from central midfield yesterday. We won for the first time in weeks and he teed up a goal for Hellings well into the second half suggesting he still had some energy left despite his hard work. But no, I don't think he's really fit enough. Just the best available option if you accept that Mattock will need help having been out so long. Leaving Stearman at right-back and playing Chambers and/or Kenton would still leave the problem of what to do with the ball when we get it and we don't need another draw, we need to win the game and there's no real guarantee we'll do it from a set piece with Sheehan and McAuley missing. You could make as good a case for Ferreira as he can play right or central midfield and for Hellings although you wouldn't have the occasional width if he played and you could also make a more adventurous but also more risky case for Ashley Chambers used fairly narrow on the right in a 4-3-3 with Hume, King, Fryatt in the middle (actually I quite like that but you know what an recklessly attack-minded sod I can be). Without doubt the managers will stick with their most experienced players but, sound as they've been, these are the wholehearted but limited lads who've drawn eight times in the League so far and hardly taken teams apart with their creativity. Sometime or another we're going to have to commit ourselves.
Jimmy Posted 8 November 2007 Posted 8 November 2007 team will proably be something like ------------------Fulop------------------ -------Kenton---N'Gotty----Kisnorbo------ Stearman----------------------Kaebi/Mattock -----------Chambers---King-------------- ------------------Fryatt*------------------ --------------John-----Cort*-------------- Subs Henderson, Hellings*, Sappleton*, Maybury, Newton * assuming hume and weso dont make it (with fryatt upfront if hume does)
Staf Posted 8 November 2007 Posted 8 November 2007 I know we are down to a bare bones but we should win although i cant remember the last time we beat burnley at home so i say 1-1
