Mark Posted 17 November 2007 Posted 17 November 2007 Looks like your going to be disappointed then I remember you being spot on about Megson leaving, seems strange that he'd go for a similar character to Martin Allen so soon especially if Tiganas available.
Kilworthfox Posted 17 November 2007 Posted 17 November 2007 For those still banging on about Jewel he has turned down the offer of even discussing the position with Manderic TWICE! He turned down a return to Wigan for more money than Milan would ever pay him and is in talks about the Ireland National Job. He doesn't want to come to Leicester and why the FU*K would he? I have heard that we are by far the greatest team the world has ever seen!
Webbo Posted 17 November 2007 Posted 17 November 2007 What Do wie we think to the news that it's almost a done deal I think this something we might read a little more of http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/7096780.stm I thought you said it would be Do wie.
ASH17LCFC Posted 17 November 2007 Posted 17 November 2007 Maybe Milan is waiting till after wednesday to see if Steve McClaren is jobless
Thracian Posted 17 November 2007 Posted 17 November 2007 MM just needs to offer a few more £££ to Holloway to seal the deal. The clubs have agreed compensation bla bla bla, jusy Holloway is holding out for a few more pennies. If he's holding out for more dough good. Gives MM a chance to tell him to sod off. What the hell is so special about Holloway? Yes, he sometimes makes me laugh but so does my Mrs. Get someone in with a bit of vision, please!!!!
ohmy6od2 Posted 17 November 2007 Posted 17 November 2007 I thought you said it would be Do wie. I think it fair to say that sometimes you get information that turns out to be false. I will post any information that I feel is worth posting. The Dowie thing proved to be false, but im more than confident the Holloway story is spot on.

He turned down a return to Wigan for more money than Milan would ever pay him and is in talks about the Ireland National Job. He doesn't want to come to Leicester and why the FU*K would he? How do you know he doesnt want to come to Leicester? did you hear his telephone interview on SSN a few days ago? he said during it that he tuirned down previous offers because it wasnt the right time. he also said turning down wigan was because he still felt he had taken them as far as he could and didnt want to go back there ( he didnt mention anything about money) he also said he was happy to 'work anywhere' he said 'i'm not proud. it doesnt have to be in the premierleague' that of course means he would consider ireland but he didnt say anything about NOT wanting to come to Leicester. Other managers have publicly distanced themselves from the City Job- Jewell has not. Whilst there is still hope, im gonner be hanging on to it!

Simon Posted 17 November 2007 Posted 17 November 2007 Bob Hazell on TB seems to be implying it's going to be Holloway... Wouldn't be too displeased with that. Would prefer Tigana but Holloway would still be a good choice IMO.
brookfox Posted 17 November 2007 Posted 17 November 2007 Funny quotes aside, Holloway's win ration isn't particularly impressive... Bristol Rovers - 36.43% Queens Park Rangers - 39.68% Plymouth Argyle - 39.43%

Fox in a Box Posted 17 November 2007 Posted 17 November 2007 Mockree Is Milan set to reveal his man? The long wait to discover the identity of the next Leicester City manager looks to be almost over. Chairman Milan Mandaric, who has been in America, is believed to be planning to make his decision over the weekend. And he wants to announce it as soon as possible to help the preparations for the trip to Bristol City a week today. It is now three-and-a-half weeks since Gary Megson left the Walkers Stadium and, in the meantime, a host of names have been linked with the post. Supporters Club chairman Cliff Ginnetta thinks that the City job is highly attractive, but said: “It looks as though he (Mandaric) has ruled out those managers currently without a club.†One exception to that, however, may be Paul Jewell. He topped a list of contenders in a Leicester Mercury online poll for fans. Jewell was linked with a return to Wigan, the club he steered into the Premiership. But he has said that he will not be going back there and earlier this week he told The Independent: “I would like to work in the Premier League, yes, but I am not ruling myself out of any job.'' Ginnetta added: “I think he would go down really well with the fans. He was top of most lists.†Iain Dowie, currently in charge at Coventry, was the early favourite with the bookmakers and retained that position until betting was suspended following wave after wave of speculation. Plymouth boss Ian Holloway's name has also been high in that speculation. Former Fulham boss Jean Tigana, ex-Sunderland manager Peter Reid, former Newcastle chief Graeme Souness, and ex-City players Mike Newell and Gary McAllister, have all featured prominently in the rumour mil
fosseman Posted 17 November 2007 Posted 17 November 2007 I'm not keen on IH but if he's the chosen one I'll support him. We must all get behind the team and hope that the players can be persuaded by the new boss to give us 110%.
purpleronnie Posted 17 November 2007 Posted 17 November 2007 Funny quotes aside, Holloway's win ration isn't particularly impressive...Bristol Rovers - 36.43% Queens Park Rangers - 39.68% Plymouth Argyle - 39.43% What were the percentages before he joined? If he could get leicesters up to 40% it would be a big improvement.
Stevosevic Posted 17 November 2007 Posted 17 November 2007 If Holloway is appointed it will quite an anti-climax after being linked with Tigana. I'll back him though, personally my expectations will not be as high and don't see him as a man to win promotion from this league, we'll see.
Brenfox Posted 17 November 2007 Posted 17 November 2007 No to tigana yes to holloway. Are you insane?
Brainy Posted 17 November 2007 Author Posted 17 November 2007 I'd take Holloway but i'd prefer Tigana.
AyewJoking Posted 17 November 2007 Posted 17 November 2007 If Tigana is an option then it must be him. I'd be happy with Jewell.
Bernie's Love Child Posted 17 November 2007 Posted 17 November 2007 If Tigana is an option then it must be him.I'd be happy with Jewell. Tempted to agree. It won't be Holloway. Why would he come here? The Plymouth fans love him, he loves that part of the world and it's not to far from his hometown. He's just bough a house down there as well - would be a hell of a commute each day and I'm sure Mrs Holloway wouldn't want to move the kids again!
purpleronnie Posted 17 November 2007 Posted 17 November 2007 Are you insane? Nope we need a motivator.
Daggers Posted 17 November 2007 Posted 17 November 2007 If Tigana is an option He's not. He ruled himself out.
