Simi Posted 20 December 2007 Posted 20 December 2007 Oh yeah, they've both featured heavily for us. How could I forget. Well, mine was supposed to be ironic. But whatever.

davieG Posted 20 December 2007 Author Posted 20 December 2007 why would IH send "£17 CASH " in the post ? it seems an odd amount to send through the post ; surely it would be obvious to anyone else that there was cash in the envelope and IH would have probably rounded it up to £20 anyway to cover the lad's postage ; i just cannot imagine him counting out the exact amount and popping it into an envelope £17 or £20, either way he's not going to improve the squad with that sort of cash; buying players with cash in an envelope, was it brown sounds a bit dodgy. It's no wonder Plymouth are pissed off £17 for Norris & Hayles>

Tommy G Posted 20 December 2007 Posted 20 December 2007 We've all heard this before from Milan. But seriously he must wake up and smell the bacon. Were fooked if we don't bring in quality players, so its time to open up his wallet...and TRY and attractive some quality to our club thats slowly slipping away...
filbertstreetboy Posted 20 December 2007 Posted 20 December 2007 anyone know what areas plymouth are weak in?because if its the same as us then ollies job is half done :-)
Tommy G Posted 20 December 2007 Posted 20 December 2007 anyone know what areas plymouth are weak in?because if its the same as us then ollies job is half done :-) Eh... how?
filbertstreetboy Posted 20 December 2007 Posted 20 December 2007 because he would of had a shortlist of players when at plymouth that he needed and if its say a striker then ollie has some targets in mind already
Jay Posted 20 December 2007 Posted 20 December 2007 Eh... how? because the scouting will already have been done EDIT... someone else has already said it think of something quick.... 5 players left wing, right wing, attacking midfielder and strikers sorted and exactly were we need to strengthen
Tommy G Posted 20 December 2007 Posted 20 December 2007 He would have targets in mind all the time anyway. he's a manager and has nothing to do all day apart from focus on footy .. I hope plymouths league position reflects how much they are stronger than us, in all areas. Apart from out keeper is better and perhaps a couple of defenders?
filbertstreetboy Posted 20 December 2007 Posted 20 December 2007 my mates a bristol city fan and he thought when they played plymouth there keeper was the best one he has seen all season, just heard wolves wants to sign there left winger for 2 mill as well.are we being priced out of the market by a club of the same size???

I'm afraid so. Wolves want Halmosi for £2m+. Frightening thought that with the two K's. Mandaric, for all his bluster, has never signed people for big fees. There is another thread on here that talks about how many sides have much more to spend than us (Ipswich, QPR, Cov etc.....let alone the premier clubs coming down ). I think this money thing is one of the reasons Holloway has pulled out of signing any Plymouth players....too expensive.

Ha, mentioning that, the world's 5th Richest man has become a director at QPR according to reports.

Until those three sides start buying players I don't think you can make any assumptions about their spending power.
Dames Posted 20 December 2007 Posted 20 December 2007 Aslong as we get proper wingers and a faster centerback we'll do well.
Lord Nibblington Posted 20 December 2007 Posted 20 December 2007 Left wingerRight Winger Attacking Midfielder 2 strikers that makes 5 players in the positions we need!! Or 5 New right backs. Can never have enough right backs.
Bluemoon Posted 20 December 2007 Posted 20 December 2007 I 'm guessing but it seems likely that Penrice and Olly would have been tracking transfer targets while at Plymouth who they will now try and bring here so presumably a bit of thought will have gone into it and the need to make the transfer dollar go further should work to the club's advantage. I'm a bit nervous about MM doing anything other than negotiate on the club's behalf as my gut feeling is that he couldn't spot a good player if they were sitting in his bathroom His record on managers isn't that good either
Graz Posted 20 December 2007 Posted 20 December 2007 Aslong as we get proper wingers and a faster centerback we'll do well. And surely some centre mids? We only have 3 (Clemence, Weso and King) and it's not enough and they're not good enough. We need at least 1 more centre mid, who is better than all the ones we already have.
Number 6 Posted 20 December 2007 Posted 20 December 2007 The BBC sport website has us linked with Howard from D*rby and David Connolloy from Sunderland
Jonezy Posted 20 December 2007 Posted 20 December 2007 Am I the only one thinking we need an experienced left back, so we are not left with only youngsters on that position. Really hope, we'll get some quality this time around though instead of the next step in the evolution of Rightback FC.......
Trav Le Bleu Posted 20 December 2007 Posted 20 December 2007 Here we go again!!! It dosesn't matter how many new faces he brings in, if they're anything like the last batch we're fcuked. Well that's the crucial word isn't it? I take it you are expecting more of the same then? Well shame on you!
Bryn Posted 20 December 2007 Posted 20 December 2007 Left wingerRight Winger Attacking Midfielder 2 strikers that makes 5 players in the positions we need!! I'd say left back, left winger, right winger, attacking/creative midfielder and a striker. Anything else on a fast centreback. The BBC sport website has us linked with Howard from D*rby and David Connolloy from Sunderland That'd be a very good little and large partnership at this level.
