Maybes Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 Oh and btw, if you were singing 'we want our Fulop back', I dislike you. Oh and wait for it...."Ollie sort it out"
Thracian Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 Oh, I forgot about King.King actually tried to make some things happen and I thought he was one of our better players if that is at all possible. I can't understand why he didn't start to be honest. Even if Holloway doesn't rate him that high, he is a MIDFIELDER and a better one than Kenton, who incidentally is a DEFENDER. King for right back. Don't tempt the bloke, Ched.
Thracian Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 I said the same thing after the QPR game - Barry Hayles is not the answer to our goalscoring problems. Any credibilty that Holloway has in indentifying our deficiancies is immediately wiped out when he signs somebody like Barry Hayles. Complete garbage.I'm glad this was 'only' a cup game but it won't have done anyone any good losing in such a desperate manner. Holloway needs to take a look at himself now - his record has been abysmal and by far worse than any of his predecessors, with the same players. It seems so hard to understand how a professional manager can make such a mistake with a veteran player who been on the football circuit for so long. The alarm bells started ringing when Plymouth let him come to us. We all know they're hardly in the mood to do us a favour. It almost seems like a signing for the sake of it or because we already know that one or more of our strikers are on the way out. The likes of Fryatt and Cort may not be brilliant, and Campbell sounds like he's a fairly long term casualty, but surely the idea is to improve on what we've got. So far he's not sounded like an improvement on anyone.
EE155 Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 Game was garbage! Steve Howard only decent player and even the good things he did were made to look shocking by the aimless wandering of the other players. Just like to pay homage to the jobsworth cop who threatened to throw me out just for swearing! long live the days of football banter

Just like to pay homage to the jobsworth cop who threatened to throw me out just for swearing! long live the days of football banter The Police were in there element yesterday. Filming all the Leicester fans with there cameras from the station to the ground, then during the ground. As soon as we got off the train we were greeted by a copper who ordered us to empty our pockets and walk through a metal detector. Think this happened to all the football fans but not ordinary people carrying shopping bags. Surprisingly. I asked them why they were doing it and he said something about knife checks. C*ck. Then when we got through the barrier we were greeted by another few coppers who proceeded to film us. I think I might of saw you talking to that policemen, were you on the far right?

Simi Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 They forced a hired coach to stop at a service station and were searching everyone for weapons as well. Winds me up really, I'm in no doubt that there are twats at fooball matches but the amount of money that is wasted on the massive amount of police presence at football is becoming a joke. Here's something from SUSD. Met Police say it costs about £6 million to police football & they only get about £2 million back from clubs.Perhaps they should start looking at the numbers of officers & horses that they choose to deply inside & outside grounds and then save some money by a more proportional response to the 'risk'. Ways in which they can reduce the cost of policing games, off the top of my head:--> Not have sniffer dogs INSIDE the Boleyn trying to catch people with drugs (granted i don't think this happens on a regular basis but the fact it ever happened is outrageous) --> Not have 1,000+ police on duty for the Cup Final --> Scrap the idea of having target numbers for arrests (surely if you're arresting people for next to nothing 'offences' in order to meet targets you set out for yourself it's going to cost a fortune detaining people, processing/charging people, taking them to court and having police go before the court to give evidence against the 'offender' in question when these officers could instead be out patrolling the streets) --> Use a LOT more common sense And to think that the FA think it's down to poor budgeting etc that teams go into administration.

I was talking to my mate, telling him about these young kids, with their flat peaked caps on, bent to the side, i pointed them out to him, and this woman copper in front of her "mates" told me to watch the game, when all i was doing, was talking to my friend. One of the coppers behind me, was actually quite decent.

When I say alright I mean you could have a civilised conversation with them and them not looking at you like your a peice of sh*t.

Steven Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 I think everybody had a stint in midfield yesterday. It started like this... Halyes------Kenton-----Weso------Hume Then this... Hayles---Stearman-----Weso------Hume Then this... Halyes----N Gotty----Weso-----Hume Then I think it went like this... Fryatt-----N Gotty----Weso-----Hume To be honest it may as well of been... ____------_____----________---______ I have quoted you on TB.
Simi Posted 7 January 2008 Posted 7 January 2008 I have quoted you on TB. That helped me realise my poor typos! I am getting thoroughly pissed off these days. Don't blame you Lisa. Did the niece enjoy it?
Daggers Posted 7 January 2008 Posted 7 January 2008 I am getting thoroughly pissed off these days. I'd make a totally unsuitable comment about women here but I fear I may get slightly wet on Saturday.
Wycombe Fox Posted 8 January 2008 Posted 8 January 2008 Forgot to mention that I saw our very own Bernie (for the first time) at St. Mary's on Saturday. I went down for a pint at half-time and nipped in the loo before going back to my seat (it was quiet and I wasn't in a hurry to get back to the game after that first half!) and in walked Bernie. He didn't seem to need the loo but just walked from one end of the loo to the other growling and chanting "Southampton - full of sh*t". Nutter, legend or both?
Sly Posted 8 January 2008 Posted 8 January 2008 I am getting thoroughly pissed off these days. IS that with the state of LCFC or in general?

I'd not seen him at the Walkers for a while - thought he might be dead! Glad he is healthy!
