Unabomber Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 You see, creative is a funny term.Mark Speight is creative but you wouldn't necessarily want him around would you?
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 I'll say nowt in case any of your club management read this, I wouldn't want to put them off. Hey, the man is a midfielder, thats a start for us...
Ultra Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 From the PNE website:"The 23-year old creative midfielder signed for Preston in August 2007 on a four-year deal after West Brom agreed to part with the player for a fee of £750,000, which could rise to £1.25million depending on a number of performance-related bonuses. A former England Under 20 International, Carter made his Football League bow as a 19-year old with Birmingham City, and within four months he went on to score the penalty against Norwich that clinched Brum's promotion to the Premiership in the 2002 Play Off Final. After gaining further experience on loan at Sunderland during the 2004/05 season, he was later snapped up by the Baggies for a fee of £1.5million in the summer of 2005. 66 appearances and six goals later, he has now become a North Ender, and helps to fill the creative midfield void caused by Paul McKenna's absence through injury. He will undoubtedly bring a variety of attacking options to the club, with his creativity matched with an eye for goal - most notably when his late winner against Arsenal in October 2005 was later voted as Albion's 'Goal of the Season' at the end of their Premiership campaign." 83 league games so far, 11 goals. He's looked quality whenever I've seen him play against us. Get him in.
WetFlannel Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 Its also a bonus we will get rid of Fryatt... two birds in one stone
Asha Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 Says AM here Is it just me or has he aged about 50 years since he left us
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 Yes I really am praying now guys for this; a masterstroke, Fryatt has hardly set the world alight since joining... only if you count his first season with us.
The People's Hero Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 Hi Time magazine hi Pulitzer Prize Tribal scars in Technicolor Bang bang club AK 47 hour DARREN CARRRRRRRTER!
Head Honcho Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 I can't see Fryatt going for this tbh! I take it he has to agree to the move Admittedly he's not doing the business here, but a move to Preston would be a move in the wrong direction for him. He should be looking at a top championship club. I'm pretty sure he'll improve greatly as a player when around better players full of confidence.

The only ray of hope I have that Fryatt may be tempted with a move to Deepdale is the fact we have Rob Kelly and if Kelly was someone Fryatt enjoyed playing under than perhaps that could lure him. I'm probably clutching at straws.
Babylon Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 Fryatt has done fook all for us... he needs to go NOW. He has potential but there is no point in keeping someone who looks like they won't forfill it with us. It's doing both parties no good whatsoever.
Babylon Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 He should be looking at a top championship club. What has he done to prove that's where he should be... on current form he should be looking at the middle of League 1.

Maybes Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 This is clearly untrue. Why would we want to sign a proper midfielder when you can just play strikers or defenders there? Beats me. . .
MC Prussian Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 This is clearly untrue. Why would we want to sign a proper midfielder when you can just play strikers or defenders there? Beats me. . . Simply too much negativity going on here.
Maybes Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 Simply too much negativity going on here. Deary me.
Alexikokopops Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 I would leap at the opportunity. You may have a nice first touch Fryatt but you can't score goals, even Elvis Hammond (ankle) seems to be more effective at that.
Jack Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 Yes please. We have too many strikers and we have no midfielders.
Head Honcho Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 What has he done to prove that's where he should be... on current form he should be looking at the middle of League 1. He's playing on a par with the rest of the team and yes you're right it is mid table L1 standard but you and I both know he's better than that! I've said before maybe unfairly he's a conman but without a decent midfield and no service he's basically had no chance to impress.......... ..............other then the couple of sitters he misses each week

Head Honcho Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 He's now below Howard, Hayles, Hume and Campbell so why would we want him? I'm indifferent as to whether he stays or goes where have I said we should keep him? Believe me Fryatt is not the problem down at The Walkers, he's part of the problem but he is far from the problem. A dozen men in 27 months have been at the helm of this club since Mickey left and not one of them has been able to get us playing as a team on a regular basis. Holloway's job for this season should be survival with a full scale clear out at the end of it. Then and only then will this club be able to progress.
