Dames Posted 10 January 2008 Posted 10 January 2008 I hate it. I don't know why i've got it but i've been awake for 3 days straight near enough (managed to get an hour here or there) and struggling to sleep. I've had to take time off college which i really can't afford at the minute. Has anyone else here ever suffered from it and how did they get over it if that was the case?
LeeCovFox Posted 10 January 2008 Posted 10 January 2008 Im the same mate, im still up from yesterday. I feel tired, but once im in bed i can't sleep, so i just switch the pc on and stare at the screen for hours not doing much of anything. Its effecting my studies too, im at uni and I have woek that I need to be doing as it needs to be in on saturday, yet I know i'm gonna be shattered tomorrow and my work will be shite. This happens quite often as well, more so since I have come to uni though. I'm gonna try to get some sleep now, I have no lectures until 11 so if i get four or so hours of sleep before breakfast I may be alright, but getting to sleep is doubtful to be honest.

I used to have this in my mid teens. Just do some strenuous exercise when you can during the day(NOT BEFORE YOU GO BED) Chill out upto an hour before you go bed Drink Horlicks too. Failing that just w@nk yourself silly! Hope that helps!!!

Alexikokopops Posted 10 January 2008 Posted 10 January 2008 Or you could start some kind of club for fighting and then go on to commit acts of anti-capitalist vandalism all over the country before blowing up the headquarters of several major credit card companies. Your choice.

Floating Fox Posted 10 January 2008 Posted 10 January 2008 I know how you feel. Don't get it quite as bad as that, it's more of a case of taking me ages to get to sleep, then waking up late because of that for me. Try Horlicks or sleeping pills
Simi Posted 10 January 2008 Posted 10 January 2008 I'm actually pretty sure Horlicks could cure ANYTHING.
Floating Fox Posted 10 January 2008 Posted 10 January 2008 I'm actually pretty sure Horlicks could cure ANYTHING. Yeah but you'd say the same about Viagra.

The Reverend Posted 10 January 2008 Posted 10 January 2008 Sleep pattern perhaps? You lot all seem to be students - Late nights late, late mornings. I get the same when i go bed late. Go to bed late, and force yourself to get up early, and gradually your pattern will return to a more normal one. Works for me anyway, because it actually makes me tired.
MC Prussian Posted 10 January 2008 Posted 10 January 2008 As mentioned in another thread earlier, I usually have sleeping issues on the night from Sunday to Monday. I hate it. Totally. But seems like I'm getting used to it.
AoWW Posted 10 January 2008 Posted 10 January 2008 For the past week or so I've probably averaged less than 4 hours sleep a night, which is bad even by my standards. I just find it impossible to switch off so i don't end up going to bed until 3 or 4am. I'm sure it's not healthy... my body-clock is just fooked. Left to my own devices (sleep pattern) I probably wouldn't wake up until nearly midday - it's just a bitch that i have to be up by 7am to get to work. I might try a floatation session to try and get me back on track. The place near me claims that you get the equivalent of 8 hours sleep in an hour's session. Worth a go, perhaps?

I once watched an episode of How2 or whatever it was called and they said the cure for insomnia was to shine a torch on your knee pit for 10 minutes and that resets your body clock. They were bloody serious as well. What the f**k? What a bizarre solution. Might be worth a go though.

Yeah - I saw that - but you missed out the bit where you should slowly get undressed in front of an open window first... *snigger - good game JTB*

Phube Posted 11 January 2008 Posted 11 January 2008 Just read a "Phube vs Manwell Pablo" Thread... They probably send most people to sleep!!!
The People's Hero Posted 11 January 2008 Posted 11 January 2008 I did have a problem for a while where I just couldn't 'switch off'... I realised though that red wine and or brandy can solve that.
AoWW Posted 11 January 2008 Posted 11 January 2008 I'm immune to the medicinal benefits of red wine, I fear.

Fez of Mahrez Posted 11 January 2008 Posted 11 January 2008 You shouldn't be on the computer for the last two hours of the day at least if you have problems sleeping. You need to try to prepare your body for rest.
