On the negative side Hume was fooking awful, Zsolt and Bori weren't as good as Cov game.

bori was outstanding, didn't do a thing wrong, fantastic passes and had a massive hand in the goal.

"The officials were the worst team out there. Leicester almost committed manslaughter on Scowcroft and every throw-in was given the wrong way.

"But one run has come to an end and it's important we kick on and go again.

"They didn't deserve to win, it was a scrappy game with two good defences and the worst pitch I've seen this year."

Well you've fooked it now aint ya.

Superstition is a load o' bollox IMO ;) Besides which with a defense as solid as ours, noughts going to get through... oh wait, is this even pushing it too much?

Very happy with the 3 points.

The Blackpool game will now be a massive test. Its a must win game if we are to keep this momentum going. I am expecting it to be a very open game and goals galore!

What a pitch. Its been like that since Ipswich. 4 games 10 points. Get a new carpet fook that. Thats about the amount of points we got in the whole of 2007 at home.

Hayles you ledgend. Swear he just ran into the ball.

Dj looked lively as did Bori when they came on.

Zsolt :(

It wasnt as if he played bad, he just didnt get enough of the ball really...

I think hes set his standards very high, and remember, hes still adapting and hes only 21

Sounds like the back four is steady again and Ollie is going to call Warnock "Mrs. Doubtfire" every chance he gets. Nice.

It seemed Laczko created a few chances though, which hes doing quite well so far. I dont think it will be long until he gets his first goal, and who was the last winger we had that could score goals?

Mark Yeates.

Well, I think that was pretty lucky tonight.

Winning ugly can be important and this result was certainly that.

Three clean sheets, fourth game at home unbeaten.

Three more vital points to lift us away from the relegation zone.

You can't knock it.

Hayles is an ugly but effective striker but I love effect. I don't care if shots come off a player's arse or his elbow so long as they count and you have to be in the right position to score which he Hayles manages to be.

Don't get me wrong. apart from the result, as a manager I'd have been ashamed of tonight's shit.

All Holloway seems to require is combat troops and another day I'll ask how far that will get us.

But we've needed combat troops to lift us out of the quagmire we've found ourselves in so Holloway is doing his job.

Seven points from the last nine is to die for.

Hayles was man of the match because he got in the right place at the right time and produced the vital moment of the match.

I felt for DJ because we'd desperately needed the sort of pace he added and his terrific late run really deserved a goal but no matter.

Against Charlton we surrendered two points and tonight we plundered a victory.

Well done City. The points were vital and the resulting confidence might be more important still.

Crystal Palace and Neil warnock are formidable opponents. This needs to be the stepping stone towards something better.

And without such wins no team will develop the self belief necessary to be of any consequence.

That was sodding woeful.

Call Me Ollie can shove the three points up his arse if this is how he intends us to play in the future. It was shite, incompetant and thuggish - relying on a piss-poor ref and two in-bred linesmen.

And as for the sheep around the stadium cheering Huuuuuumee everytime the chosen one manage to kick a ball 17 feet in the air or misplacing a pass - they want smacking around the head.

What a waste of a train ticket.

Dudley was lightning quick. On another day, I'd reckon he'd have buried that.

Nice to have him back though.

As for the game, two mediocre team that cancelled each other out. First goal was vital and thank God we got it.

A win is a win. I'll take an ugly win right now. Its another step away from the relegation zone. Beggars can't be choosers.

But I am expecting better football than this. This was woeful. Hoof to Steve Howard. Defender collects it. Hoot it to James Scrowcroft.

Oh, and throw-in, header out, throw-in, header out, throw-in, header out and yadda yadda yadda

I agree. He's creating the chances and getting into positions just cant seem to put em away. Should have had a couple today and 4 or 5 goals since arriving.

Such a dire game, but when was the last time we did that to a team?

Palace made it difficult for us as their aim was to come away with a point. They played the three narrow in midfield, which meant Clemence and Oakley found it difficult to get a foot on the ball.

Neither team created much, but at least we were trying to win the game, albeit scrappily.

Having Hayles and Howard upfront didn't help as neither have any pace. As a result, Palace were able to push up and squeeze us and had plenty of the ball in our half, although thankfully we were very tight defensively.

Campbell and Bori made a difference, particularly the former as he added pace, which allowed us to push Palace back a little.

That win was so ugly, it should be christened Neil Warnock!

But Palace created very little and seemed content with a 0-0. Too bad they didn't get it. :D

We've seen enough shockers in recent times where we've come away with nothing. Last night the breaks went our way for once.

Hopefully the performance against Blackpool will be better.

Are you being serious...? The match was shabby at best but have you seen what has happened to teams that have tried to play pretty football against palace recently?! We're a few points off relegation, Ollie knew what he had to do and he did it. When we're in a more comfortable position and Holloway has got the team he reallly wants together, THEN we can start complaining that our football aint good to watch.

It certainly wasn't the prettiest game ever played at the Walkers, but you can't really complain about this win. Three points are three points and we should bloody gladly take them. I concur with the criticism of the overall team performance.

Alnwick, apart from a few scares in the box (he's not the tallest and appears to be susceptible to high balls), did a solid job. Keeping a third straight clean sheet is something we haven't seen in a while. Thanks to Ben and the relentless back four, who did everything in their power to stop those lighting-quick Palace wingers (and Scowcroft) from scoring. There could've been a couple of sending-offs, but the ref was pretty "liberal" this time - no need to give him stick, I've seen much worse and more obvious decisions against us than for us like this time.

Holloway sort of "raped" our midfield today, putting Hume on the right wing, where he hardly ever had an impact. Clemence did a fine job and had a cracking tackles (helping out in the back and adding to a respectable defensive display), the booking was harsh, as he never actually touched his opponent. Laczko had a quiet performance, but I guess that tackle on him in the first half was partially responsible for that.

Given the fact that we hardly ever threatened Palace's defense as well as Speroni, the strikers weren't doing that bad - they were simply lacking service. This stupid hoof ball tactics never really works out (Palace started to copy us later on in the game), not even with a tall guy like Howard up front. Nice to see Campbell back and it's unfortunate he missed the 2-0. However, I'm glad he's back - just in time for the vital Blackpool away game. Hayles' goal was a real comedy moment, I don't actually think he wanted to "shoot" it that way (the ball made a really weird banana movement).

As for Warnock's comment, just look back over your own fence and start admitting that Leicester were the better team out of those two rather uninspired squads. "Manslaughter on Scowcroft"? Give me a break, you lunatic!

It was about time we got lucky and I'm pretty happy with it. 15th for now and the form points toward the upper half.

Looking forward to Saturday.

oh my god!

i can't believe people are being so critical of this game and this performance.

i mean when did leicester set this standard of playing attractive passing football, you're all idiots! for the last four years or so we've hardly put two passes together, last night, ok it didn't always come off but at least there was movement, layoffs, i noticed mattock one time in particualr played a lovely bit of one-touch footy with ZL.

come on, on THAT pitch against a team who hadn't lost in 15, people are complaining that it was ugly...

well not as ugly as you lot of moaning ungrateful fu(kers...

yes hume overhit a lot, but why focus on that, he tried some really interesting stuff over the top and linked up well early on with stearman in a position he's known not to favour. ZL was match fit but damn he was keen when he got the ball. when was the last time you saw FOUR midfielders supporting the attack. and we were catching them offside way up the pitch sometimes - personally i'd rather have clean sheets than lose anymore trying to play football we can't play with consistancy...yet this was a massive step in the right direction

so, the chances didn't really come, so there were a lot of throw-ins, big deal - six weeks ago, think what we were like then before you all start whinging cause we don't play like arsenel yet.

It wasnt the performane that we showed V Cov but would we have expected that against a Warnock team?

Was always gonna be tight and ugly against a team 15 undefeated.

Disappointed with the lack of crosses(again, this is only in relation to the Covo game!)

However, played ugly, kept them quiet and nicked all 3 points in the end.

I also think the introduction of DJ may be crucial towards the end of the season.

Needed to score that chance he had in the end but as he's been out for a while,i'll let him off! :D

So to be optimistic, thats 3 games undefeated.

2 wins back to back at home.

0 goals conceeded in 3 games!!!!

I aint bothered how we win at the moment,in fact i couldnt care less,as long as we get into a winning mentality.

Once we can string a few wins together and get the feeling of winning THEN i want us to start winning pretty, with nice passing movements(ala Arsenal!!!!).

This football club needs a winning mentality first and foremost...Tis been a long time since we had that!

Gosh, watch a match on television and you become an authority on how well we are improving...Be sure to update us (and insult those that bother to attend) the next time there's a big game on Sky
