Manwell Pablo Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 Sack the groundsman and get the mario brothers back now !!!!!In fairness I think the Mario Brothers are at Wembley now ? I'll ask Phube.
Southern Fox Posted 29 January 2008 Author Posted 29 January 2008 Im not sure the wingers will get any joy on a pitch like that - how can you take people on and play one twos on that. I was embarressed and the club should too. My sunday league pitch is better. Matt Oakley so many times tried to play a short ball in the middle of the park and it was bouncing all over the place. Disappointed

Disappointed Professionals should be able to play on all surfaces. (didnt someone famous say that once??...If not i just did!!!) Plus it was the same for both teams so fcuk it!
Daggers Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 (didnt someone famous say that once??...If not i just did!!!) You'll always be a legend to me, Raj

Plus it was the same for both teams so fcuk it! yeah poofs ' we used to play against the germans in no man's land between the trenches; did we complain ? did we ****, and some of us only 'ad one leg , it was especially dificult 'oppin' over those pot 'oles
Raj Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 You'll always be a legend to me, Raj AS long as we can agree to disagree,on things we dont agree about...agreed???!!!!!
The Stig Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 These guys are professionals who are payed stupid ammounts of money. They should not be whining just because the pitch is cut up, they should be able to cope with it.
Durnerz Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 The pitch reminded me of the ones of years gone by....a lovely nostalgic moment.
The Reverend Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 Who gives a **** what the pitch looks like. If you want to see flowing football on a perfect pitch, take a trip to the Emirates or something, because you took a wrong turn somewhere...
Free Falling Foxes Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 Bad pitch? You don't know what a bad pitch is! When I was a lad you'd be lucky if there was any grass on it at all this time of year! Interesting comment about the smell - I thought the fellas in front of us were responsible. Apologies to them. FFF Edit Hang on! It disappeared when they went for a HT cuppa then returned with them afterwards. Apololgy retracted.

Daggers Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 I got an apology for the smell this afternoon, indicating that it just effected E3 - and that it had been sorted. It's fortunate as I thought I may have to buy a soap-based gift pack for Lisa/Fenwy as a subtle hint.
vim23 Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 In general footballers nowadays have no flair. Pitches were bad all the time in the seventies yet we had great flair players who could conjure up a bit of magic. Football today is all about pace, strength and stamina. Such a shame.
MPH Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 palace are a passing team. I just wonder if the pitch got an extra soaking to stop them passing the ball around so much.....
Rich Fox Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 Have the reserves been playing on it ? Why dont they still play an Hinckley? Im wondering if this is why our pitch is so bad.
Simi Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 Have the reserves been playing on it ?Why dont they still play an Hinckley? Im wondering if this is why our pitch is so bad. They do still play at Hinckley.
blue blood Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 one of the things that stops pitches cutting up nowadays is the ratio of sand to hardcore. It improves drainage but als makes the pitches harder. I much prefer a muddy pitch to a almost fake grass pitch. If they wanted to offer me the job of head groundsman id happily leave my job in IT for it.
Sods Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 Shit pitches are wicked. On the issue of south stand being muddier. This happened at Filbo as well. Remember the kop being a total mud bath sometimes.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 30 January 2008 Posted 30 January 2008 We may need Martin Allen back cos that was all he was good for some gardening down at the trainning ground
eaststandtom Posted 30 January 2008 Posted 30 January 2008 Why is our pitch like a cabbage patch??I cant recall us playing at home in an absolute downpour and making it that bad? The tigers havent been on it? It was a disgrace and I was embarressed although no team will want to play on it Opinions please drainage! the river/canal level was higher than normally apparently this has an effect cos it means the excess water on the pitch cant clear as smoothly. therefore, extra water had been on the pitch for a while longer than normally

purpleronnie Posted 30 January 2008 Posted 30 January 2008 Why dont we have that tent thing we had at filbo?
