Southern Fox Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 Why is our pitch like a cabbage patch?? I cant recall us playing at home in an absolute downpour and making it that bad? The tigers havent been on it? It was a disgrace and I was embarressed although no team will want to play on it Opinions please
Zingari Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 they filmed the "mud mud glorious mud" walkers crisp ad there
Raj Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 Tis to stop other teams playing. Hence we can indulge in hoofball and get 89th minute winners!!!
Daggers Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 State of the pitch be bollocks'd...what about the ****ing stink of it? It reeked. It was like sitting in a cess pit for 90 minutes, maybe it was all connected with the shit that I was watching.
Mark Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 Why is our pitch like a cabbage patch??I cant recall us playing at home in an absolute downpour and making it that bad? I think the academy played a youth cup match in torrential rain the other week.
The Stig Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 Would it be possible to get a new one? (Pitch not stadium).
Raj Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 Would it be possible to get a new one? (Pitch not stadium). We have put a bid in for the wigan pitch. FACT!
Thracian Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 So many people commented on the pitch it was embarrassing. By modern standards it was a disgrace.
Uncle Albert Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 Thats what Warnock blamed the defeat to and the officials, that doesnt sound like Warnock at all.
Big Ol' Bob Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 Shame Warnock didnt slip and die on the pitch.
Foxhateram Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 Thats what Warnock blamed the defeat to and the officials, that doesnt sound like Warnock at all. a sore loser that Warnock bloke!!! He's all praise and happy when hes unbeaten in 15 but when he loses, he always has an excuse!! hate people like that!! accept that you got tactically outwitted by Ollie you self-indulgent fool. As for the pitch couldnt really see much because i was watching on a very dodgy internet stream, however it didnt looks particularly great, it worked to our advantage though i guess. DJ managed to run on it!! blimey he was quick last night.
mancunianfox Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 A colleague compared it to "three points on a cowpat". I think that about sums it up.
davieG Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 What I couldn't undestaand is why it was so worn in the corners, virtually no grass at all at the South end
kirkwood Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 I do not know an awful lot about football pitches but I do know that garden lawns can get "diseased" and I was wondering if that could be what has happened to the pitch, only tests will clear that one up.
Uncle Albert Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 As long as City can scrape victories on that pitch and keep clean sheets. I am happy with the pitch
orod Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 the pitch was a disgrace it used to be in such good condition - one of the best in the country if the academy have been playin on it, they shouldnt let them any more cus the state of the pitch was an absolute piss take
Jon the Hat Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 What I couldn't undestaand is why it was so worn in the corners, virtually no grass at all at the South end Probably more shade in the corners.
davieG Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 Probably more shade in the corners. True but that would apply to previous winters and I've not noticed it before on top of that this has been a very mild winter in comparison to previous ones.
hairy Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 True but that would apply to previous winters and I've not noticed it before on top of that this has been a very mild winter in comparison to previous ones. But very wet. The south end was just about complete mud but the north end (the end that gets the sun) was much better. "A pitch of two halves"
morris1234 Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 We have put a bid in for the wigan pitch.FACT! ahah we would know where the goal is, you can just follow the line down the middle!
Ric Flair Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 Looked to me like there's been a problem with the under-soil heating as the pitch appeared to have ridges in it.
The People's Hero Posted 29 January 2008 Posted 29 January 2008 Looked to me like there's been a problem with the under-soil heating as the pitch appeared to have ridges in it. It's being rebranded as the McCoys Stadium!
